Are you on the 3 network outside of UK?
Got an android phone and can't avail of your 4000 free skype minutes p/m as there is no Skype on 3 apk available where you are?
There is no Skype on 3 apk here in Ireland [Edit: 3IRL have just released their Skype on 3 app (attached)] and, as far as I know, no app in Oz, Italy, Sweden, Austria...and wherever else Hutchinson 3G operates!
These modded Iskoot apks are for 3Australia, 3Italy, 3Denmark, 3Austria, 3Sweden & 3Hong Kong (attached to this post). Simply install it, no root or adb needed. You are now able to make your free skype calls! Please test and report in this thread.
If there is interest from elsewhere, I will tweak it for your country too, just post a request here.
There are a couple of things I should mention:
1. The apk will drain your battery fast as it constantly connects to server.
2. It does not refresh the connection properly, so after you have made a skype call your received calls get routed through Iskoot servers, costing you skype credit on received calls.
Here's how you can make it work 100% flawlessly for you:
1. In the Iskoot apk - check "Sign in automatically".
2. Leave the "receive calls" box unchecked.
3. Install "Setting Profiles Lite" (free) from the market. Link here
4. In Setting Profiles Lite - Go to rules > press menu button > new rule > add condition > shedule period.
3. Set "On for 2 min every 45 minutes".
4. Add action > run application > "Skype".
5. "Do on rule enter - Start App"; "Do on rule exit - Kill App". >>[edit: "Kill App" feature doesn't seem to work in froyo]
6. Done.
This will autostart the app every 45 min, letting it run for 2 min, then kill it. Received calls will be free and still get pushed to your phone, even when the app's been killed (you will always show as online to your Skype contacts). Whenever you need to make a call - just start the app manually, then kill it with your task killer when you're done. Your battery consupmtion will hardly even be affected. Enjoy!

I even got my skypeout to work! Here's how -> dial your skype out contact and you'll get a "this number is not connected" message. immediately after that, manually dial the number the app connects to for skype<-> skype calls and it works!

Skypeout just works for me without having to do that (only on foreign calls though).

Hey, I'm in the UK and on 3, and I didn't even know you could get Skype for Android... It doesn't seem to be on either the Three or Skype websites. Where did you get the APK?

It's available for download on three's mobile website but only with a phone that they sell: HTC Desire, X10 etc.

i signed up, but then told me it's only available for registered users and to follow them on facebook and twitter. sounds like too much effort for me to do them the favor of beta testing. especially when i have no idea what viber is.

You've to wait before they release the Beta. You can already signup. So do if you havent!

They have already released the beta but only allows 1500 beta testers each day, and I signed up for over 1 1/2 week ago and still doesn't got any invite to the beta!

You need to wait for our invitation email, and it might be a while (a few weeks) due to the long waiting list. Our sending of the email is in the order of first-subscribe first-get, and we send around 1500-2000 emails per day (with about 40,000 subscribers on the list at any given point).
We ask for your patience - eventually everyone will receive the invitation and be able to complete their installation.

Ive been waiting for the App for soo long to come onto android, i know the team is very busy with all VAST amounts of people that are signing upto the BETA each day. i know it would take some time, but i have one question once the beta version is avaible to use on the Android device will the App be able to "Call" other users that are on Apple OS i.e. the Iphone or will the BETA version only work with Android to Android devices.

After subscribing at http://eepurl.com/bW1Ln you simply need to wait several weeks from our invitation email. Once you get it, you will be asked to fill out a form verifying the same details as the original subscription, and then you will be sent to download the APK and complete your installation.
If you get the APK without following this *exact* procedure (in the exact order I wrote it), you will NOT be able to activate.

As I wrote in my last message above, it may take up to several weeks (our waiting list is very long).
If you followed the subscription process *exactly* as I wrote it, you should wait for out invitation email, and only once your details are confirmed, you will be able to complete your setup and get the code. Patience please

Thanks for the information.
As you can see, the USSD codes we have used are not incorrect. What we have noticed, Airtel pushes different types of value added services quite frequently. Cricket alert was one of them.
Please be very careful as you are using Airtel SIM. Many users have reported the same types of issues happening with them before too. You may call Customer care and block those unwanted push messages to avoid any balance deductions.

No difference between contacts from address book or any others, phone number is used as key.

It is WRITE_CALENDAR permission. Required for the calendar search and events creation. I do not know why the google name it so. Happy to see new permission model in Marshmallow, - app has support for it.

HappyID should show all available information if android address book contact has one of course. On Marshmallow app should has right permissions available for access the address book. Please try to reinstall (please do not forget to backup notes first) or kill app, maybe something goes wrong.

r4 is the latest version. same as on GP.

I understand what you use the other permissions for, but what do you need/ use the following permissions for?
Calendar:
* read calendar events plus confidential information
* add or modify calendar events and send email to guests without owners' knowledge
Other:
* full network access
* view network connections
This is definately an app I would pay for if I can get a clear understanding of the reason for the seemingly unnecessary permissions, especially the full network access permission.

Calendar for the nearest event and to add new events. Network access for Evernote sync, crash reporting (fabric.io) and google analytics.

Thanks. That was the answer I was afraid of. As it is now, the Hangouts incoming call screen is abysmal.

I've had the desire to have an application like this this about 4 months ago.
And it's a pretty good implementation! Do you think it's possible to show the last exchange/sent/received SMS between you and the caller/person you are dialing out. I feel that this would be a tremendous help.

This one is on list, but I should solve the puzzle how to show a lot of data on a small window first. I have done some experiments with scrollbars, dynamic font, collapse/expand etc. Unsatisfied, yet.

sometimes i need to send a WhatsApp Message to someone just for one time ,and for that i need to Save the number in my Contacts ,send the message , and after that delete the contact because i don't need it anymore
