Stock ROM INT2EXT4 - HTC ChaCha

Can the INT2EXT4 script work with the stock ROM 2.3.5?
Also I need a link to download that ROM or the latest, I need the 'img' files to flash them from Linux, I don't have Windows to run the RUU exe file.
Currently I have the CWM and CM10.1, so flashing system.img only is enough or do I have to flash radio, recovery and boot images too?
Thanks.

cronmod needs to work with cyano, I don't know the technical info but it is impossible with the stock rom. I guess you need all the files for the ROM but I can't provide them since my internet is too slow.

[req] Downgrade from ICS to stock 2.3 Fastboot

I'm having some issues with ICS and I would like to revert to stock as simply as possible. Where can I find the stock .img files for a 2.3 release for fastboot? Searched for like an hour. I don't want any root whatsoever. Any build of 2.3 is fine. Just need stock imgs

Guide all you do is flash the backup in clockwork
I do not have clockwork
You don't require CWM with the stock rom. Works with Stock recovery. Rename zip file to update.zip and use apply sdcard update.zip option. Assuming you are using T-Mobile's Nexus S I9020T.

I guess you need clockwork which you can flash via fastboot.
because if you are coming from ICS to GB then..the recovery ICS does not display properly so to be safe u need to fastboot flash recovery (CWM recovery would do)
and then flash the zip

[request] Pre-rooted stock ROM

Yeah, I know that there's ROM index, but I couldn't find any working link there.
So, if anyone has flashable .zip of pre-rooted stock Sense? 2.10.401.9 preferrably
And one more quick question - will it be able to update officially?
RUU exe installers don't seem to work, they wipe all data and then give me error
If you can tell me how to install it properly, I'll be very thankful

An official update does not depend solely on the ROM you use but also the bootloader and the recovery. If you have revolutionary bootloader and a custom recovery (which you're likely to have if you're able to flash a ROM anyway) then you're likely to get stuck in a bootloop if you use an ota update.
Sent from a Desire S still looking for a good replacement.

3e recovery doesn'twork?

Hey guys, thanks for reading. Here's my issue. My samsung Infuse has root. I put the 3e recovery file in the system-bin as supposed to I have flashed CWM via rom manager Problem is, when I reboot into recovery, there is no reinstall packages. only reboot, install update and wipe/format options. Also, I get the failed signature errors no matter what I do or how many 3e recoveries i try to download and use, it is constantly the same issue..... any ideas? I have followed the procedure to do this down to the letter

are you on gb? the 3e mod doesn't work on gb because the recovery file is in the initramfs. when you see it in the file system that is just where it is mounted but it is actually being held in ram so when you shutdown it is no longer there, instead a new copy of it is loaded into ram from the kernel image. the actual binary is inside the initramfs files that are compressed in the kernel zImage and not accessible with the normal file managers, the only way to change recovery is to edit the kernel zImage files and flash it to the phone. that's not a task for anyone which is why we have odin and heimdall flashable kernels that skip right to cwm recovery. the 3e methods are for froyo only.
i will note that if you have root you can flash a cwm kernel with sgs kernel flasher but the only gb version that can be rooted is rogers stock and needs a version of superoneclick with the zerg rush exploit which uses a usb cord anyway so there is no reason not to use odin or heimdall unless you have already done the rooting.

Ok, thanks for explaining that to me, I've been at this for a couple days now. Yes I am on 2.3.6 is there a way to flash a jelly bean or ICS rom through odin? I have odin and understand it a bit more than heimdall.... where might I find a couple? I'm used to being able to throw a rom on the sd card and away we go!!!!!
I did however download and install a pre-rooted GB for the infuse but no CWM.... so where can I find a odin flashable JB or ICS?
Thanks!!!!!
Actually, my neanderthal mind finally figured out after flashing the pda in odin that the phone was not going to finish restarting on it's own and that I had to boot into recovery and then flash whichever rom I choose from there THANK YOU!!!!!!!!

to get to jb. flash cm9 first.
you may have to do it twice with a factory reset and format system, cache, data in between the first and second flash.
then you can flash jb

i think there is a ics odin package but i never used it. jelly bean is different for the infuse because it is mtd. i don't think odin is capable of flashing mtd roms and if it is the packages would be very different... as similar as ics and jb are they couldn't fit the system files on with jb and had to move over to mtd partitioning. ics was able to fit on the bml partition that existed so it hasn't been converted over.

Newb Question - TrickDroid Install

Hello everyone,
Excuse my noviceness here but I have a few questions. Im NOT new to flashing roms on Android but NEW to flashing roms on HTC Devices. I came fresh off a Galaxy S2 where things were more simple.
I have a STOCK Rooted HTC ONE S (TMO USA VERSION) and want to install TrickDroid. In the install instructions it asks to install Stock HTC kernel for Android 4.0.4 (BOOT FLASH SCRIPT).
Do I have to do this since I am running the stock rom (never changed or touched kernel) with TWRP recovery? Can I skip this step? See below the section in BOLD UNDERLINED... Must I follow these steps at this point or skip them?
Instructions:
Download ROM
Download tweak package
Copy ROM and tweak package to your sdcard
Fullwipe (data and cache)
Flash the ROM
Reboot into bootloader
Go into fastboot mode
Flash the stock boot.img from the ROM with fastboot, TWRP does not help!! (You can also use the Boot_Flash_Script I deliver you which runs every command for you)
Fastboot erase cache if you do not use the Boot_Flash_Script
Let the ROM boot
Flash the tweak package
Enjoy
And for those who are wondering if i did read through the threads and tips... I have, I spent several hours looking for an answer before i had to resort to asking!
Thanks to whoever can answer and educate me as to why I must or must not have to flash the boot image.
you can try without them first and if it doesn't work, rewipe and flash the boot.img from the trickdroid rom (just extract the .zip file on your computer and there it will be)
Can I push it with root explorer or with TWRP once i get the boot.img?

It's just the way HTCDev unlock the bootloader, it doesn't allow for certain partition to be flash. Boot is one of them so you'll need to flash the boot.img separately.
TWRP work for some but not others to flash the boot.img.
Just like HidaKureku said, just flash using TWRP if it boot up fine. If it doesn't just bootback into fastboot and flash boot.img
Thanks for the valuable info.... I risked it and was rewarded. i was able to install the rom and the tweaks without touching the boot.img...
Now for future refrence...
How can I Flash the stock boot.img from the ROM with fastboot? Do i just pull the boot.img and go into bootloader and do it from there?
Funny thing is that on my phone not only I can flash the boot.img with TWRP, I noticed that I don't even have to flash it at all! When I installed the ROM using TWRP it automatically installed the boot.img.

Just copy the boot.img to your fastboot.exe folder
CD to that folder in Command Window
Type: fastboot flash boot boot.img
I don't remember if "fastboot erase cache" is recommended after you flash the boot.img

Do I have to flash the boot img file every time I flash a rom?

Just as the title states...Do anyone know if you have to flash the boot.img file separately every time I flash a custom rom or is it with certain roms only?

as mentioned in other threads.. if you are flashing similar ROMs ( having same kernel ).. there is no need to flash boot.img separately. But say if you wanna switch from sense to aosp you must do that as they have different kernels.
Again if you are just upgrading from older version to newer version of same ROM and if there are no kernel changes no need to flash it
To clarify, flashing the boot image from fastboot is only necessary if you are on hboot 1.14 b(coming from AT&T firmware 2.20). Previous hboot versions, the kernel is flashed automatically when you flash the ROM.
