You'll have to uninstall it first.

Nopes!
But It will take long time, possibly months for some new updates to be released by Google!
Hang on with xposed and customize your nexus

Rooting

Ok, so I have rooted several device's but I have never updated my stock android Os higher while rooted.
With the news of 4.3 I was just wondering what would happen?
Thanks for your help in advance guys.

Probably a 99 percent chance you lose root. Sadly.

Any chance it will damage my phone? And can I just realised root again? Using the Nexus 4 auto root?
Thanks for your help

Why not going unroot before updating?

There's just the chance of bricking your device, just like everytime you are rooting it or flashing something.
Rooting it again shouldn't be a problem.
Bricking is easily fixed by flashing a new rom?

I might do that tbh lol thanks

Yes, this is what I always do. It's the safest bet.

Just don't forget to backup your phone. Enjoy flashing!

Xposed framework?

I get to go pick up my nexus 5 in 9 hours, I'm so excited. Any hoo, has anyone tried installing xposed framework and some modules yet? If so how did it go?

Xposed is not yet compatible with 4.4
And it won't be compatible for probably at least a month. Rovo doesn't have a KitKat device. But people donated to him and it sounds like he is going to order a nexus 5 when the model he wants is available.

the framework hasn't even been 4.3 very long, might be a little while.

Question after 4.4.2 update

So I was on 4.4 rooted and went back to an unrooted state. I then sideloaded 4.4.1 and then 4.4.2 when it was released. My question is, can 4.4.2 be rooted the same way 4.4 was?
Thanks in advance.

Awesome, thank you!
now to find the toolkit that I previously used..

Pacman ROM.

Quick question, I have successfully built pacman and was wondering if I could release it in the wild just for those that want to get their hands on it? I haven't already because I didn't want to step on any toes, especially those of Devs I idolize so much.

Good going. Like to see new devs. Do you have permission from the original devs? That would be the place to start.
Should I ask in the Pacman boards for permission? I wasn't quite sure how to go about that. When I saw PAC wasn't available for the Nexus I kind of lost my mind and had it built the next day lol

No, you cannot release any builds until nightlies start. There was a message at the end of the build that says the same thing. Nightlies should start soon though, so you can release your builds after that. All builds right now are for private use only.
Or perhaps upload your work for the pac team and ask them to be the official builder for the nexus 5 version?

Sorry I started my build right before bed one night and by the time I woke up my wife had closed terminal so I never saw the message. If I had I promise I would have never asked. Sorry again and I'll definitely keep the build to myself.

It will be rooted the same way like 4.4, and you will can upgrade the same way like you did with 4.4.1, 4.4.2, 4.4.3 and 4.4.4. Is it magic or something?
Developer preview available later today...

Lock them both. We don't need 6 months of useless speculation.
