[Q] Stream audio between devices over bluetooth - General Questions and Answers

Okay so here's my case: I'm going on a six-hour flight next week and I'd like to watch some Breaking Bad on my tablet (Nexus 7). But the audio jack on my N7 being kinda broken, and I'm not sure if everybody would enjoy the sweet sound of methmaking, I want to use my phone as a bluetooth headset and connect my headphones to my phone. if possible. if anyone cares, my phone is a moto G and both devices are on 4.4.2. Can I do this (app, Xposed or something likewise), or would my best guess be to just use soundabout on my N7 and try to jam the headphones in some way that works.
Thanks for any answers/advice.:good:

Try chorus but it shares over wifi.

Thanks, I installed it but I noticed It only streams mp3s, not all audio in general. So unfortunately this doesn't help

May be soundseeder would help you.many media format supported. Just you have to install 2 apps. Soundseeder music player (host) and soundseeder speaker.(join)

[Q] Music Player that supports A2DP?

Don't know if this is the right place to post this, so move it if it's not.
I have a Desire HD with MIUI and i'm looking for an app that supports A2DP. I think the stock HTC Sense player supports it, but i'm not sure. But i can't use it now since, well, MIUI. I've searched for A2DP on the Market, but didn't find anything special.
So does anyone have some ideas on how i can get this to work?
Thanks in advance
I think you are looking for "mort player"
The built in Android music app should work just fine...as well as apps like WinAmp... I can't imaging any media app now days that wouldn't.
I have HD bluetooth stereo headphones and they work just fine using any media app.
Thanks Trying to connect to the car stereo. Gonna try Mort Player and some other ones.

AD2P isn't something that is based on the music player being used. It is based on the device hardware. If their bluetooth hardware supports it, then it will work. The only aspect of AD2P that I believe is controlled with the software are the playback controls.
If you are hooking up to your car audio, it might have to do with the car's bluetooth hardware/software. Sometimes you can take your car to the dealer and they can install software/driver updates for your car's bluetooth. May try calling them and seeing if there is an update for your car.
I have the Desire HD, and it supports A2DP. I'm trying to connect it to Pioneer FH-P80BT (Clicky) which supports Bluetooth audio aka A2DP.
I'm running MIUI btw.
Then in theory it should work just fine. If it simply won't work no matter what you try with your phone...then contact the dealer and see if there is an update for your car's audio software.
I'll test it further tomorrow and see if it works
I thank you all for your replies
And yes, i'll press the thanks button when i'm around a computer

Hello ppl, sorry to revisit this again, but I have Miui on my DHD with a Motorola HT820. For some reason the BT audio for call work great, but audio streaming will start and then drop out (no sound, but the music player is still going), then suddenly the BT connection will drop. Any ideas?
On the Sense 3.0 this function works fine. Just to make sure its not the headphones, I paired it with my Iphone 4 and that too worked flawlessly. Could there be a bug related to the Miui port for DHD?
Thanks for any help
Since this is MIUI related it might be better to ask in a MIUI thread

Airplay for android

Is it possible to stream music using apple's airplay so we can use the cool docking stations with android too?
Yes we can!
But we have to use honeyplayer app. It can play just music on airplay devices. No video.
Maybe with another app we can play video? I dont know
Yeah that looks good thanks, but you can only play music files which are one your phone and with that (crappy) player, and not with for example PowerAmp. And TuneIn Radio won't work either :/

I use Skifta, works good for me, its a free app and does amazing work, you can use our own phone or any other media servers, i use it to get data from my pc, laptop and play it on my tv and PS3
I've already tried iMediashare, but my Bowers&Wilkins Zeppelin Air unfortunately isn't recognized. I just wanted to know.if.there is any tweak to stream all sound that would go through your speaker with airplay, so that you can use poweramp etc. too...

Androids are crazy
Actually, I use iMediashare as well and it will stream to any device that is on the same wifi singal as your phone. examples are ps3, xbox, wii, and even pc's.
I can watch any movie on my phone that is on my pc as long as im in wifi range.
I can play any movie or song from my phone on my tv via my ps3 or xbox. No additional software required. Just start imedia player on your phone, go to the movie section on your gaming device and select imediashare.
Actually the gaming system doesnt need to be on wifi. As long as it is connected to the router hardwired or wifi you can share media files with any other device connected to said router.I highly recommend this.
There is also software that will let you use your phone as a remote control for your tv or direct TV box, and remote view your pc. Teamviewer is also free. You can see a live image of your pc from anywhere and control it with a virtual mouse and keyboard all from your phone. Even turn it off.
Androids are crazy... lol
It still doesn't work for me. I will simply use a 3.5mm jack cable, thanks anyway

Will iMediaShare allow me to stream music from any app on android to an apple tv? I'm thinking specifically from rdio. This is a feature I really like on my iPhone, but I'm looking to jump to a Galaxy Nexus.
Does it support also subtitles in srt format?
Player for .MTS format
Hi!
For those of you that have been searching around for a player that supports the .MTS format (files from among them Sony videocameras), I found after some time the BS Player. It is a free application in the market that also supports hardware acceleration! Other players I have not found that supports this format, only converters.

No, you have to go into imediashare and it locates saved media on your device and streams it... it also has a couple dozens apps to stream from internally ... it may have radio come to think of it.

Play to remote device (Bravia in my case)

Hi, I'm using Galaxy R with CM10
I have this Sony Bravia Internet TV.
Some of you guys must be familiar with Windows 7 & 8's 'Play to' functionality.
U can right click on any media and select play to-> Bravia(Both connected to same wifi)
This feature is also there in S3's stock music and video players.
So I can hit play to from my PC or an S3 and it directly starts playing on my TV.
I need this feature on My SGR running CM10.
The SGS3 ported music player doesn't work on CM10
So I'm basically looking for an S3 music player port for CM10 or any 3rd party player that can give me this functionality!

This should be what you need.. Able to stream to many TVs
From my CM10 powered galaxy R
I already have iMediaShare but it wasn't good enough.
It just shows the media library on tv and I still have to browse through it and play using the tv remote.
PlayTo universal:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dayglows.vivid.full
This app is somewhat better. Needs no tv remote interaction for playing/pausing. I'll keep digging for a more intuitive app though.
Thx a lot

Really?? That's strange coz I never needed the TV remote to seek play or pause videos... Anyways it always better to find new and better apps
From my CM10 powered galaxy R
That's really nice man.
I've heard iMediaShare is supposed to do that but it doesn't work so good for me.
Maybe it's something to do with the TV.
I flashed ICS again to see if I could find something and AllShare does this job really well!!

Can't Stream Audio Over Network

I cant find a way to stream music from Nexus 5 to my denon avr 2113 receiver over wireless network. I have no issues doing it from my iPhone, HTC 1 and Samsung Note 2.
I tried default music player on Nexus 5 and even installed few other music app, but they don't even display stream icon on the UI to choose my receiver.
Am I missing something or Nexus cannot do it? Please suggest. Thanks
With my old phone I used the app Skifta. Worked with my denon 2112. Haven't tried it with my nexus 5 yet.

Your Walkman Music Setting

Hello,
What are the settings you are using (Equlizer etc) in your Walkman app to get the best possible music experience?
Thanks a lot !
who's still using m.players while there are great streaming apps like spotify and google music, even sony has one
People with mobile data limit like me maybe ?
I go to settings/sound effects and change the headphones to STH-30 makes the biggest difference. Also set surround sound to club with a custom eq. That sounds the best to me.
I only stream from spotify or Pandora when I want to hear something new. I keep a huge library of songs on my phone. Saves battery not streaming all the time.

Hehe Me There are many reasons for that. Some of them below:
1) Mobile data limit
2) Streaming apps has not a lot of Indian/Pakistani old songs.
3) Battery drain
4) Traveling in underground metro and mobile data keeps changing from 4g to 3g, 3g to 2g etc and it causes buffering and stop which is irritating.
5) Keeping a music library in my mobile give me a "sense of security" if you understand what i mean
