power button replacement

hello everybody!
I have a broken power button on my nexus s and I have now remapped my buttons with the power on the volume+. It's not a great problem to have the phone configured like this, but I won't that my volume button turns broke with the intense use.
Have anyone replaced his power button? Does it need to be soldered or it need to be simply joined to the mother board?
Thank you :good:
Noone?
I took mine apart because it broke "open" so t was not possible to power on the device at all (until I messed around and found a way)
So there's 5 solder pads, 3 at the back 2 at the front. The middle pad on the back is connected to one of the outer pads, and the other outer pad is shorted to those 2 other pads when you press the button, The 2 front pads are used to hold down the switch.
Anyways, I got it out with a soldering iron but the 1 important pad got damaged.
The way I figured out to power it on was to install kies with the drivers option (just installing the samsung drivers was not enough), then get odin 1.83, this tool and CWM touch img file from the cwm website (converted to tar with that tool).
Then I turned on the phone in download mode (hold the 2 volume buttons and insert the usb cable), flashed the CWM touch tar file with odin 1.83 with the reset option on and the phone booted on into android. It's a pain but it works.
I found power buttons online for like 10$ but honestly it seems like a PITA to replace. I use button savior and if my phone dies it usually turns back on when I Plug in the charger or pop the battery in and out.

It's an half dolar on a local electronics store here (Turkey). And every samsung tackle button works with Nexus S.
You don't need to spend for that button much.
I also replaced my nexus S power button. Soldered by myself. Not so hard if you have some experience with soldering...
Mine costs about $12 for replacement, service included. Actually they took an old volume rocker thingy from a beat up samsung phone, and soldered it on mine. Been doing fine for 12 months now. I installed screen off and lock so I won't stress it too much again. Use volume rocker wake if it's included on the current ROM that you are using.. Again so that you won't beat up the little guy once you have it fixed.

[Q] RAZR M (Razr i) stuck on boot screen. can't access recovery

I own a Motorola Razr i (or DROID RAZR M if you are American) , had it for just under a year but today apps started to force close, cleared app cache and put my music on but mid way through a song my phone just stopped and powered off. I performed a soft re boot (power key + volume down) and the phone went onto the boot screen, the small red circle with the 'M' for motorola in the middle. Usually after this it would say 'intel inside' but it will not go past this. Ive tried everything but can't even get it into recovery mode, i took it apart and took the battery out but no matter what i do, press all the buttons together for 30 seconds etc. nothing will work, can any one help? thank you in advance, really can not afford a new phone so need to fix it!
Was it hot when it happened?

Water damaged -- buttons not working

Hey,
My dad has an HTC One mini (m4 I think) which accidentally went in the wash for a minute or two before noticing. We sent it in for repairs and now the power button and volume down button don't work any more.
So, how do I get into recovery without these buttons so I can install a custom ROM to use the capacitive buttons or volume up key to turn the phone on and off?
Thanks

What I would do if I were you. I'd install a kernel with s2w/dtw functionality.
As for getting it into recover: Use ADB.

soft bricked with broken power button

My Nexus S has a problem:
It has a broken power button, and it goes to boot animation for a moment and then returned back to google logo endlessly. I can't flash anything since when it goes to bootloader, the options can't be changed.
Any help is really acceptable. thanks
Had this problem on two Nexus S models now. Guess it's really a thing with this phone. I just solved it by buying a new button and soldering it in.
I had to buy 10 buttons though. Aliexpress has a pack for under $6.

Broken power button and bootloop is none of the major problems . Just do 1 thing use a USB Jigg. Turn off your device and insERT a USB Jigg , it will straight away move to "Download Mode" . Then flash it normally as we do, and for broken power button just get an original piece and solder it to board. I can give you the power and volume buttons even if you want the mainboard of Nexus S i can provide.
Hit thanks Button :thumbup ::thumbup :

i recently got a bricked htc e9pw from the internet, but i got some problem

i am a noob in the field of flashing phones, but i want to improve myself ,so i bought a bricked htc e9pw online. the phone was first sold in taiwan. the situation of the phone is: i can't boot into neither download mode nor recovery. it only viberates when i long press the power button. when it connects to a power supply, it only shows out a charging battery logo without percentage on it.
i am wondering if anyone here can help me.
