[APP][4.0+] Floating Translator BETA [v0.5.2] - Android Apps and Games
This app is a floating translator and dictionary.
It supports Arabic, Catalan, Chinese, German, English, French, Hindi, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latin, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish and Vietnamese. More languages will be added in next versions.
Link to Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=apps.easylife.translator
Having the interface in a resizable floating window, you can translate without leaving the app you are using, so that you have the text in front of you the whole time.
Furthermore, when you touch out of the window, it becomes a little ball so that it doesn't interfere with the reading/writing, and you can open it again with a tap. In a similar way to facebook messenger.
Features:
Floating window.
Translate without leaving current app.
Dictionary and synonyms.
Bubble mode to take up less screen.
Notification mode.
Bubble size can be changed.
Resizable and movable window.
Posiblity to lock it if you want it always there.
It remembers the position and size, so that you always have the same experience.
We haven't translated the interface of those languages we can't make sure the translation is acceptable (we don't trust google translate for that) so if anyone would like to translate it to his own language, we would really appreciate it.
It is our first app, and we want it to be as good as possible. Therefore we would appreciate your feedback, bug reporting, suggestions, and anything to improve it!
Special thanks to:
@pingpongboss for his awesome StandOut library.
Pere-Lluis for finding several bugs, for his ideas to improve the app and being always there to test alfa versions.
@omarainea for translating the app to arabic, and suggesting ways to improve the app.
Christian Orjeda for improving the german translation of the app.

looks good..

Btw instead of a bubble, if theres a persistent notification in status bar, that will be better ... Like clicking minimize will send it as notification and we can click it to get it back onscreen ..

We are working on that. We have done that but it doesn't work well enough, yet. When we figure out how to do it properly it will be added. Thanks for your feedback!!

That would be great! apk attached
We are working on a couple extra features that should be added to the app in a couple days, if we work out a couple difficulties.
wow, looks great, and how about Russian?
@lotdrops ,I think adding Arabic language to this app would make it really popular,
I can help you with that if you need any, I'm familiar with translating app, although I think translating this app would be different.
Anyway thank you for the incredible app, and keep up :fingers-crossed:

It's one of the next languages to be added. And it souldn't take a lot of time stay around! it might be added in a week or so, if we don't encounter much trouble with the different characters...

Arabic, with Russian (as I've just said) is planned to be added soon. We have to fix a couple things first and then we'll dig into it.
And if you can help translating, that would be awesome!!
It is definitely a very good app for learning new languages. A tip from me if you could start adding audio for the words too that would be great. I mean by that then we would be able to speak the way words are supposed to be pronounced. I don't know what would be the limitations for doing that, may be a lot of space would be required, but just a thought came to my mind.
Anyhow good work.

Adding a widget would be very helpful!

Thanks. This is a great app. Can you add Japanese and, perhaps, Mandarin?
Offline dictionary will be a nice feature if you can add it.
Great app! I'm currently always juggling between Google translate and messaging apps.
+1 to extend it to Hungarian in the future (Might not be the most popular but if there are not a lot of requests I may get lucky ).

Dictionary changer?
Hello people I am looking for an app or toggle widget that makes it possible quickly to change between the different dictionary languages in the htc_ime. Every day I write in Danish, English and Italian and I find it a bit annoying to have to go into settings, keyboard language and choose the language every single time. It would be much easier to be able to change the language just by pressing one "button" on the homescreen. So if anyone knows about such an app or widget, or if someone would be able to develop one, it would be VERY MUCH appreciated! Thanks in advance! - Thomas.

Why do I have it in... japanese!? Is there a way to change it? I am learining this language, but hey, I don't know that much yet .
seems like it doesn't recognize any other language than english... That could be a problem... japanese isn't very easy hopefully the dev fixes this (default language to english)
Yeah espiecially when everything is in kanji . So that's the case. I'm not changing my phone's language to english only for one app . Dev, please fix this .
Looks like Chinese/Mandarin? to me I'm learning Japanese, and I can't read it too, because there is no kana... Hope English will be available too...
Chinese and Japanese uses same chars, they just read it in different way. You still have to learn more, Japan consist of 3 alphabets - hiragana, katakana and kanji . I still don't know for sure if it's Japan or Chinese, I judged by the way how date was written in note (I think that it is unique for Japan). EOT I think . English is available, you just have to have english as default language in phone.
Is it really useful to start a Japanese/Chinese language discussion on an android forum? But I didnt say Japanese dont use kanji, I just mentioned there was not any kana (hiragana/katakana) in it. Japanese text is a combination of Kanji/Hiragana/Katana. So if the whole app is in Chinese characters/kanji, its obvious it isnt chinese. And the the way the date is used, isn't only for Japanese, i think. But on topic. If the app is in English (or Dutch, of course) the app would be great i think.
sorry for ot......but,that launcher are you using?
Can't use it since it's all in an Asian language. Please fix this, would really love to test this.
I like it. Couple things I noticed: 1. When typing it doesn't support the Android auto-correct and auto-punctuate feature. Which is big for me. 2. When you're on the screen with all your notes, it would be nice to be able to long press on any note and either edit/delete/share/whatever that way. Instead of having to open the individual note. Those are the only to things that I've noticed so far. But I do like it.
Its not a theme or a launcher borjus86 said: sorry for ot......but,that launcher are you using? Click to expand... Click to collapse I think u ought to see this... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=787877

[APP]TouchPal Input 5.1.5
Found this while browsing. Works pretty good so far. More themes available through app settings and don't forget to download your curve language! Enjoy! http://www.meizumi.com/plus/download.php?open=2&id=3007&uhash=c26705dcb2734ca4f453ea5c
I just noticed that you can uncheck all the foreign languages and even though English will be grayed, it will still work.
Cool swiping trail too!
Bump... Nobody interested?
no dutch language unfortunately..
[APP][2.2+] Magic Keyboard Pro
We've just released an Italian language pack for Magic Keyboard Pro. We now support 8 languages in all, the others are US English, UK English, Spanish, French, German, Hebrew and Russian. Magic Keyboard squeezes the Google n-gram files onto your phone, and uses them to predict and correct your typing. We think it does it pretty good job but we'd be keen to hear what you think ! The latest version also has an awesome Theme Editor - checkout the video to see it in action:
For those asking the differences between Pro / Free are: Auto Text (configure shortcuts like brb, hru) Machine learning (adapts to your typing over time) Theme editor (a WYSIWYG designer) Next-word prediction (uses its dictionaries and your previous typing to suggest the next word before you've started typing it)
More languages We've just added a Polish language pack. Next week we'll add Czech. Swedish, Norwegian and Danish will all follow fairly soon !

Annoying bug on dock
Hi. I really like this tablet nd the keyboard. but it's very annoying when I want to accent over the letter and put it before the letters. For example: Econ´omico. I'm Portuguese. How can I fix it?

Click to collapse I don't know for sure about the Portuguese language, but on the German system language setting (and reportedly the Dutch, too), the tablet seems to process accented letters correctly. I've been pretty much exclusively using English, but somebody in here will chime in that's been on some other language mainly, and help you out more definitively. LEA, where are you when we need you?
Yes, I have the exact same problem, but in french. It does that only in some applications, not all. Chrome and the default browser are affected. This is annoying as hell, and I can't find a fix. I had this problem with the stock ROM, and with CROMI 3.1.0. I'm happy to see that I'm not the only one! Anyone got a clue on how to fix this?

Click to expand... Click to collapse I've never used Portuguese... This has been an issue with a lot of languages since the .18 update. Dutch and German work since .30, but most others don't. I can't check at the moment, but you can use ALTGR (right alt, on dock the only alt) in combination with most letters on the keyboard. (the combinations don't always make sense, in dutch ä is under q) A lot of the accented letters are there in Dutch and German, so possibly in Portuguese as well. Otherwise, Alt+space for a symbol menu.
