I've been using Android from a really long time, I used to always get annoyed when I got SMS while I was in full screen mode, so I decided to write something to help me with this. I uploaded it to Play about three weeks ago. It's a free app with no ads nor Internet permission. I'm hoping to get some feedback and advice from you guys
Please consider to let me know how to make it better before leaving a bad review.
SMS Flash on Google Play
play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bl.smsflash
About SMS Flash :
Instant SMS notification without stealing focus! Specially built for gamers.
SMS Flash is a simple application that displays incoming SMS as soon as they are received, in a non interactive way. Unlike SMS popup, you can touch through the displayed SMS and continue interaction with the screen. So you do not need to stop what you were doing to read the SMS.Its very handy when you are playing Games, watching movie, recording video, taking pictures, browsing etc.
SMS is formatted and notified as a transparent view on the fly, you can set the number of seconds the SMS has to be displayed and you can use Proximity sensor to
1. Dismiss SMS Flash on first touch of Proximity sensor
2. Extend the display time when you need more to finish reading by touching and holding
3. Go to reply box when Proximity sensor is touched twice
V 2.4 Released :
[New] : Added Added Image size limit to 100x100 dip
[New] : Added Preview option. (Displays only 1 line)
[New] : Option to decrease reply trigger to 1 sec
[Fix] : FC resolved.
[Fix] : Pocket trigger fixed
V 2.3 Released :
: SMS Flash doesn't blink as much.
: Font size configurable.
: Debugger option added.
: Reply issues with LG devices fixed.
That is great idea! Thank you very much... Have been testing it for an hour so far and works great. I love the idea with proximity sensor...
What I would perhaps add is option to enable the pop up window on locked screen as well... just leaving the background black and having this beautiful on the screen when the phone is locked would be perfect (for me ).
Anyway thanks once more...
I'd love to try this app but unfortunately play market says it can't be installed in my country (Turkey) and one more thing, is the proximity sensor the only way to interact with this app?

Yup that's a great idea but I'm just worried that it might cause wake locks :-( not to mention how seriously wake locks are considered by users.. But il surely try to add it
Thanks

What a god damn awesome idea!! I can't tell you how bloody annoying it is when im doing a video review of an app for my youtube channel and im in a full screen app and i get an sms or even when im just playing a game testing it out and stuff, I don't want to go to my homescreen to see the text because if i do i have to restart the first app all over again and start from the beginning. This will save me from doing that! awesome app!
never seen this app
it seems cool, i will try
Great idea! Thank you for your app! I'll try it!

Can you still have the 4 app launcher if you have a passcode? (I'm thinking about buying a One X)
Yes u just drag the app or unlock it and then it prompts u for password or face unlock

Also, FWIW, I'm password/passcode mandated bc my company forces admin rights for me to get corporate email, so I have to, of course, enter my passcode each time i unlock directly into an app. HOWEVER, this is not the case with the Camera, at least for picture taking. I can 'partially' unlock to get to the camera app and take multiple photos without entering a passcode, but as soon as you try to review or edit photos, you are prompted for the password.
Personally, I was concerned that I would lose quick access to the camera with password unlock, but luckily that's not the case. Thought I'd pass that along...
If you are interested, there is an app called ExtendLockTime, which allows you to set a delay for the pass code. For example, if you only wanted to enter the code once per day, within the app you set it to 24 hours. Its working perfectly on my HOX.
Any way to get the Screen Lock/Unlock sounds back too? lol

Found it!
Give Widget Locker a whirl. Highly customizable and can look like stock ICS. Easily capable of more actions than the stock lockscreen.

I'm not sure why HTC decided to mess with the default delays...The ICS ones were just fine. I usually had mine set to 3 seconds in case the display turned off while I was reading something and I could just tap the button to turn it back on without unlocking.

This can be achieved with an app called tasker, When I am home it disables my lock and changes my phones settings. When I'm out of the house it re-enables the lock etc.
But tasker can do so much more than this as well, it is difficult to start with but definitely worth the time https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.dinglisch.android.taskerm&hl=en_GB

yes sure , more feature will be developed in future releases.
It's genius if you add one option if the smartphone doesn't unlock by fingertip you can select what's app gonna lock!

i just developed fingerprint app locker.
Free Version - Link
Pro Version - Link
Now you can lock your mobile apps using your fingerprint.
• No Peaking in recent apps
• Fully optimized
• No battery Drain
Note :
• you must register your fingerprint in your device
[Settings]> [Security]> [Nexus Imprint]
• Turn On Accessibility Service , this app will not work without enabling it.
[Settings]>[Accessibility]> turn on > [App Locker : Service]
• Enable Device Admin to prevent unauthorized uninstall.
[Settings]> [Security]> [Device Administrators]> turn on > [App Locker]
Please let me know your thoughts and review.

Everytime I receive a notification (Snapchat, WhatsApp, etc), the app is showing the lockscreen even without clicking on it.. Can you fix it? (Android N Beta - Nexus 5X).
Great app that I've just bought. Just a couple of suggestion.
A screen with a fake error instead of a screen asking for a fingerprint.
And a way to disable rapidly the service.
Guys please check the update , its awesome
This app is amazing, I downloaded the free version, original worked great, but with the addition of the crash screen is it supposed to recognize fingerprint input while the crash screen is up? It doesnt seem to let me do anything when the app crash is showing, but if I turn the crash screen it works as expected. As soon as i figure out if it's just me I'll be buying the premium version.

I have another issue on Android N.
It does not matter what I set in "Relock apps", after I unlock my device and open locked app (e.g. Settings), I need to unlock it after every activity change. And it stops (it does not ask for fingerprint) after some time...

The fisrt , u check all the permission that necessary for the application.
Next, u use CPU-z app to test proximity and accelerometer sensor.
I think it's sensor issue! plz check then give me results.

In the accelerpmeter sensor, when u moved phone, x, y, z values must changed:
- Place phone in vertical state, y must about g = 9.81
- Place phone face up on plane, z must about g = 9.81.
...
In the proximity sensor, when u used hand to hide sensor, value must equal zero and u moved hand from sensor, that value must equal 100.
How do ur phone work?
U open the main Settings app.
Go to Apps or Application Manager (depending on your device, this may look different).
Touch app Gesture answer call.
Touch Permissions.
U need turn on all permission on this.
Oh, the app works only with normal call (GSM call), not working with messenger, whatapp...

Yes, I know. Normally , value of proximity sensor will equal 0 if u hide it but equal 3. So app not working. I will check on a phone that resemble ur phone.
Do u give me ur email. I will send a apk file, it's specifically building that suitable for your phone!
