Read the prerequisites and then go through Stage 1. Obviously you'll need to find your own Wingray roms because I designed that guide for Stingray users but the steps of the process remain the same.

Hi
Im currently running CleanRom 3. I want to try out the new Cyanogenmod 4.2. In the description it says CWM, but i use TWRP [latest one i think]. Is it possible to install it without installing clockwork?
No U can't. Cyanogenmod after succesfull instlling, will modify CWM recovery. If you had TWRP, It would hard brick your Tablet. I'm not Quite Sure, but everyone installs CM on CWM. You'd better be carefull if you don't want to have very expensive desk.
Sorry, becouse my english isn't very well, I hope I helped you.
I use Twrp 2.2.2 all the time and. No issues with any of the 4.2 roms.
Yes you can use twrp. Just make sure you use the latest version add that is fixed for multi user support introduced with 4.2 jelly bean. Goto twrp website to make sure you have the latest. That guy in the first reply is wrong saying you have to use cwm.

I used twrp 2.3.3 to flash cm from clean.

HI Gurus,
I own the samsung galaxy sgh t959v running on official tmobile stock gigerbread 2.3.6. Recently, I've tried to update it to run on JellyBean(4.1.1) trying to follow the below tutorial.
First you need the ODIN files(to go back to stock) : goo.gl/An7S (scroll down for where it says download and download the 4 files in there )
put this file in your sd card with the other one . if you dont have this file then you wont be able to use recovery mod :goo.gl/FuHFJ
Then you need to root your phone : goo.gl/oW4WO
USE THIS LINK (FOR ROOT)IF NOT FIRST ONE WORKING : dl.dropbox.com/u/13517705/SGH-
Then you gotta update your phone to CM-7 (gingerbread)(2.3.7) : goo.gl/rjFRj
then , you need chimera 2.2 ( ICS )(4.0.4) : d-h.st/uwi
and finally , you need to install panaroid android(JB)(4.1.1): goo.gl/Frl3z
gapps : goo.gl/jN55d

However, I've landed on a weird situation as shown in the attached image. Steps that pushed me into it are as below.
successfully rooted my phone using the steps from

tried update my phone to CM-7 (gingerbread)(2.3.7) : goo.gl/rjFRj only to land into this problem.
I am not able to boot up to download mode either so that I can re-flash the basic stock version.
tried installing chimera 2.2 ( ICS )(4.0.4) : d-h.st/uwi as well but no luck.
I've tried everything from trying to wipe out the data/factory reset.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
Madhu
You flashed vibrant (SGH-T959) ROM and recovery and not SGS 4G (SGH-T959V).
These are 2 completely different devices.
I hope you haven't bricked your phone.
Try the one-click back to stock - specifically section 2...
and if it works, flash only ROMs appearing in this forum development section.
Good luck!
It works

You can flash any of the ROMs listed in these SGS4G forums. However, make sure you read the instructions carefully for each ROM, as some require you to have already been on an ICS ROM due to file system changes. Do not flash anything for the Vibrant or any other phone or you will have serious problems. Good luck!

If you don't care for GPS - I'd go with one of our great aries 4.2.2 ROMs.
till this fuctionality is added,
If you want a GPS on your daily driver, you'll have to flash an ICS ROM, such as
AOKP, CM9, HebMIUI, Ultragen....
Issue resolved
Hi Guys,

and enjoying the awesome rom the developers have come up with. battery backup seems to be pretty good.
However, I had to execute an additional step which was not there in the instructions i.e., after
step 5. Flash the ROM using CWM/TWRP

phone boots up to ClockworkMod Recovery (CWM) 6.0.1.2. Then I had to install cm-9-20130227-UNOFFICIAL-galaxys4gmtd.zip once again to finish the process. Hope I've not missed something here.
itzik2sh, I'll give a try to the latest aries 4.2.2 ROMs sometime later.

What ROM did you install? What did you do (step by step) to install it. Did you flash anything else, if so, what?

Okay, first, make sure you have whatever you need backed up.
Second, wipe everything except SD card ( dalvik, cache, system, boot, data)
Third, reflash the ROM, and report back if your problem persists.

You can't dirty flash a 4.3 rom over a 4.2 rom like you did since the gapps are not compatible. It causes all sort of force close like you have. Do as Setting.Out said and make sure you download the correct gapps for 4.3. Flash them after you flash your rom.
try the rom at my singature

4.3应该是没有官方的,另外 I9023XXI1指的是基带版本,应该跟刷那个版本系统没什么关系,4.3除了cm以外没发现有哪个bug少的
the google official didnot release andorid 4.3 for android, you can download official image from here(just google search nexus factory image, then open first links and find out the image adapt you phone),using fastboot flash you phone :victory:
Hello, I'm Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 SM-T311 owner. My device currently running on CM11 unofficial builds. What I want to ask now are:
1.) I found a new cm11 updated build, so I downloaded it and wanted to flash it. Must I do a factory reset/wipe data again before flashing it?
2.) Do I have to reflash the GApps again?
Any answers will be appreciated :good:

You don't need to factory reset but it is advised to do so but do wipe cache and dalvik
You need to flash the gapps again
But, I won't lose the other installed apps right?

The other option is to try to flash one of the bigPart boot images on top of the new rom and see if that works.
If it does, you would need to re-flash after every rom update, and might lose some ROM features if the kernel doesn't support them. It might be worth a shot.
