Hey all, New to this site as I am trying to learn how to get Androids from other companies working on cricket's network for my customers. (I work for a Cricket Premier dealer) Within a couple weeks cricket will be launching our first Android and I was wondering if any files etc.. from an actual Cricket Android device would be helpful to any of the developers here as I would be more then happy to post them if it would be helpful in getting full functionality out of flashed Androids.
Just let me know which files would be needed
how about the cricket apn from apn backup with of course username 0'[email protected] im using a touch pro with android but can not get wap/mms working.
does it have cricket clicks or whatever its called? (the app store i guess it is) post that. if it has it
yes...the whole rom in general would be great. but if not then cricket clicks, the APN, and the MMS.apk would be great.
Oh god, please don't let this be a troll!
Seconded on the ROM, APN and MMS.apk.
Also, any documentation would be helpful.
Post whatever you have and I'm sure someone will find it useful.
Thanks in advance (so long as you ain't trollin').

Yes, this is the first time someone actually wants CityID. It's the only thing stopping me from applying the latest update.zip. I've been searching for quite a few hours to no success. Every search I've tried to find the stock CityID app has only led to how to remove it. These all would have been helpful to see before I deleted it through Titanium rather than renaming it. The couple of installs I found have been for other phones, none of which have allowed me to bypass the step in Recovery. Would anyone kindly upload the stock CityID, or even point me in the direction of it. I'm assuming I can just place it back in /system/app/ correct?
I'll add my request to this as well so this topic stays near the top!
I'm also stuck at this error trying to install the new update.zip! I've been doing searches as well and haven't been able to find CityID.apk anywhere!
I'm also assuming that you can just do an adb push of the apk back into the /system/app directory.... fingers crossed!
Try the HeyItsLouFroyo Rom thread in the dev section. He has a zip file of removed apps. Didn't look. But I think it's in there since he said he removed it.

Unlike the others, this one installed successfully through ASTRO. Going to try it out. Thanks a lot, whether it works or not.
Install was a success. fader01, I award you all of my internets, I cannot thank you enough.

I rooted the phone and flashed the ROM. I am looking to get Android market and figure out how to sync my contacts with GMAIL. I am very new to this and actually didn't really want to do it, but why not. I need all kinds of help.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Tony
The best advice I can give you, being pretty new myself, is to search the forum every question has been asked 12 times atleast. And the people here are extremely helpful. From my knowledge I would search for a Google addons zip and flash it. But I could be wrong.

Make sure you keep the gapps file for future use. ROMS built from source cannot have googles proprietary files included.

I just got a replacement phone because my last one had a cracked screen, and this one came with TMoUS 2.35 4.0.4, and my last one was still on 4.0.3. Anyway, I rooted, and went to fix the app associations issue by adding the build prop edits and deleting HTClinkifydispatcher.apk, rebooted into recovery, cleared caches, rebooted and now no app links work at all. If I restore the apk without fixing the build prop it goes back to working like it did before any edits. Also, the App Associations tab stays in settings no matter what I do to HTClinkifydispatcher.apk.
Anyone figure out a way around this for 2.35/4.0.4 yet?
No one else having this issue?
Seriously, no one has figured out how to fix this yet?

Dunno mate, I would try and help you if I could but my T-Mobile branded phone is branded with T-Mob UK. We don't have app associations
I've been trying to find a fix for this too. EVO LTE has a mod called fApple but I have yet to find a mod for the One S. I too have tried the build prop edits ro.da1.enable=false and have tried doing that and adding ro.da1.method=false under it. Nothin works. I know a lot of the custom roms have it figured out. Hopefully someone will figure out how to mod the stock Rom.

TTT!! Still no fix for this?? Its so annoying I figured someone would have come out with a fix already. Wish I was a developer.
I see that there are plenty of ROMs available for the P51xx's, and since the P51xx's and the 497's are both Galaxy Tab 2's, would it be possible, just to use the build.prop of the P51xx's on a 497's rom?

I know of none, the Tmobile one would be close, but you would still run into a few problems. Just keep checking back... Sooner or later some developer will come along and conquer the last hurdle....

You are speaking greek to me. Build prop?
I dumped the rom
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/15191674/system.img.ext4
And my CWM backup
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/15191674/STCK_BKUP.zip
I reset everything before making the backup.....

If you want something else, then let me know how I can get it for you. If I have to reset my device back to stock again, it isn't a problem because the CWM backup worked perfect...

He was asking for your build.prop file. You can find it in /system.
No. There are more differences between the Verizon tab and the gtab then you think.

I did once using google talk And another app I downloaded from the store, but it was so bad I could barely make out what the other person was saying (Speaker on back and it isn't really loud) So I just dropped the idea as not bearable,

The Canadian SGH-i497 (ROM appears on sammobile but I cannot find reference to a Canadian Tab2) may support phone calls and sms messaging. I downloaded the Odin ROM from here:
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/3/?download=20711
And checked inside and it seems to have the proper files. Since the i497 has practically no support on XDA I have been reluctant to install it. But recently another member posted the ATT 4.1.2 so I was thinking of giving it a try in the near future.
Canadian version is listed on Samsung of Canada but that is about it. No info is given. Why would they release a ROM for a tablet that just doesn't seem to exist?

Found available at these 2 places but still practically no info:

I too have one of these things...Really want to Root it and install other ROM's....Found Cyanogenmod for p5100 but also reluctant to try it as it is not the SGH-I497...but it's so slow and laggy, I just am dying to at least give it a try, as long as I can back up current firmware....just need to research on how to do just that first...
I have a I497 as well but it is for Digicel Jamaica, anyone knows if the AT&T or Canadian 4.1.2 Rom would work on it? I'm thinking they should all be compatible since they are all sgh-I497.

AT&T gave us one for signing up for their cable service. sad to know that no custom roms available.
was able to get it rooted. was going to be a fancy toy anyways. amazing how under-powered this thing is.
I just wound up selling mine, wasn't worth it. If I remember right there was a Rom, but it was only a stock one that had the AT&T junk removed.

Are there still no roms for this model of tablet?
