Hey all, I had this phone for a long time but recently I have a problem where I would not get notifications, snapchat, messenger or any apps, anyone have an idea on how to fix?

I am really getting sick and tired of Facebook, I am not getting any notifications whatsoever. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app and same issues. Before I wasn't getting half the updates from my friends now I am not getting anything at all. I have to physically open the app and check if I have any notifications. I am running the app with APW because I like the scrollable option I can't stand Facebooks own widget. I have checked all my settings and they all look good. Anyone have any suggestions? I have also tired Friendcaster Pro and running into the same issues where I am not getting all notifications from all my friends. And yes I do have notifications enabled on my tab. Running stock ICS if anyone is wondering.

Is there a messaging app the would give a real time alert (stated "typing") when in text conversation to notify you that the other person is responding to your message. Any help or thought and ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Yeah but that's an app where both parties need to have that installed where I am looking for more of an sms app. How does that app even work and forgive my silly questions

Hmm, idk if the facebook messenger app does that, u can use it to text people and both parties don't need it

I use whatsapp and it does that. Possibly one of the best messaging apps there is. Both parties need it, and it is a dollar, but you can use wifi and it is rock solid stable. One of the best purchases I've made in the play store.

yeah you are only going to get that functionality when both parties are using the same app. And it would have to be a messenger/chat type app not a strictly sms/mms type app
I don't get notifications anymore on the threads I have subscribed to:crying:
can anybody help me out with it
Wich kind of notifications are you talking about?
Email notifications? Notifications from the xda/tapatalk app?

The xda app seems to be not maintained anymore (look at the date of the last update). At least if you use the free version
Maybe use tapatalk instead?
Ok, so I'm on stock nexus 5.
I have turned off notifications in my apps, but I still keep getting them. It's annoying me. Anybody know why? For instance, living social and fandango keep having notifications pop up and I can't figure out why.

Are you disabling the notifications in each specific app itself?
What I do, is go to Settings > Apps > Click on the app in Question, un-check the Show Notifications box and I am usually good to go.
Wow, thanks. I didn't know you had to do it that way. I was just disabling in the app itself.

Hey, right on! Glad you got it working good!
You can also long-click the notification itself and disable notifications from the offending app right there. Saves some trouble.
