I tried this using Link2SD , created a partition in my SD card and did the steps I found that the 2nd partition was used as well as my internal memory also. Say I installed a apk which took 10.3Mb and 1.5Mb of space with respect to 2nd partition and internal memory .
Am looking for an way to swap the storage entirely and not link with SD which tooks a small amount of space in internal memory as well.
Link 2sd plus will help you it will link Internal data too.

I had same problem . If you have external SD card,swap it with internal one(will increase internal memory)-
Hi everyone , here is the way to do it
1 . Download root browser from play store
2. Browse to /system/etc/vold.fstab
3. Vold.fstab is the file to be replaced by this vold.fstab- http://db.tt/WLjGyBKK
4.reboot and check your storage in settings>storage

Guys i have rooted my lava iris 405 but now i cant modify the vold.fstab file in system/etc of my mobile
I have gone through many threads and found that modifying the vold.fstab is the only way i can set my sd card as default memory
I have tried editing the file and even once i have made my sd card as default memory, but lost my phone memory in file manager of phone and pc connection of phone memory and sd card failed. So i again placed the original vold.fstab file in system/etc in my phone again
I have uploaded the original vold.fstab of my phone here
Please if someone knows editing the file for making my sd card as phone memory and phone memory as sd card edit the file for me and many other with this phone
In my phone
'sdcard0' is phone memory
'sdcard1' is sd memory
and both of them are in folder 'storage' in root

bro can u tell me how to increase ram on iris405 ,,i try with swapit ram expander but its says kernal not supported......pls suggest some ans..my iris was rooted.............thnx
That's strange it showed no such problem on mine. Only it asked for Class 6 card which I didn't have.

Hi all,
I am using a XOLO Q700 smartphone and tried all possible efforts using xda developer and other sites to swap internal storage to emulated storage. (not to confuse with internal sd to external sd).
I already tried vold.fstab method for all possible combinations to swap sd in addition to mentioned in so many tutorials.
The main problem is my phone has a emulated drive as internal storage and there is no internal sd for apps seperately. I have also attached screenshots for understanding.
link2sd is working for me but data of applications like sygic cant be moved as data files is placed in root of internal sd and not in /android/data/
so only way is to swap sd
Is there any way to swap sd with emulated storage?? please let me know if its there. thanks in advance

I have rooted my Android Mobile Karbonn A29 with FrameRoot its successfully rooted, but i want to install game like FIFA 14 in my mobile it does not have sufficient internal memory, kindly give me the guide how to make my external memory which is 16 gb to act as internal memory so that i can install large game.
You can make your external your internal memory. What you can do is use a tool Like app2sd to move some apps to your sd. This may allow you to have enough space to install the game and them move it to external. There are ways in a custom recovery to format your external where is it used as sud internal but I haven't played with that yet.
In the future please include the phone.model, carrier and version of os you are using.

i have tried with so many app to move to sd card but it only move to phone sd card not in the external sd card which i insert in the phone. My phone is Karbonn A29.

You can use Link2sd app to force move apps to sd card.Also if you partition your sd card then you can also Link all your desired apps to sd card.linking means it will install all your apps to sd card without leaving any traces of the apps in the internal memory.Here is more info on this

This is Arup.
i am using Karbonn smart A26 running on Stock 4.2.2 firmware.
I swapped my inter Sd storage with the external one by editing vold.fstab
But all the application in install now goes to new external SD storage (actually the internal one)
Hence my 16 GB new internal storage (external one) remains free .
Help me out what can I do to use the external storage as the internal one successfully !!!

This app Apps2SD should get the job done. You will have to undo the FSTAB changes you had done.
