[Q] APK OneClick v4.2 help - General Questions and Answers

First off I will say this is the greatest tool I have ever came across and I am thankful for anyone that ad hand in its production. The tool of course is here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=873466 and it has been working great for me. But earlier today I used winrar to open a com apk file and edit a specific txt file however I accidentally didn't un-click the "use as default program" box and now right-clicking and apk file will not display the decompile option or install to phone option any longer. I figured since the default program had been changed it was not being recognized by one click apk any longer so I deleted the default program for the apk file type in the registry and uninstalled then re installed the shellext for APK_OneClick however the right-click apk options still will not show. I can recompile folders to APKs but nothing else. Any help with this issue is greatly appreciated and thanks in advanced it is driving me crazy.
I am assuming my problem is fro the whole winrar accident as the icon provided with OneClick no longer is displayed for apk files either I just can't solve the issue.

Age of Empires, Need For Speed, other old pda games

Hi,
Trying to install these games, but didnt had luck succeeding.
As Example, I Install Age Of Empires via pc (running aoe.exe), after this InstallShield setup pops up, everythings cool, setup completes and then, by default, ActiveSync Add/Remove programs pops up, and by default it would show the message "see your device screen for aditional information installing the program"...But it doesn't! It just shows installed programs, like in normal "remove programs" option, and also, no signs of installing any kind of programs on my device too.
Dont know what's the problem, of course these games are mainly built for WM5 (Im running WM6), they're pretty old, but strange thing, I got Worms, which are same old as these, to work!
If this is useful, my device is SE Xperia X1, Windows version 6 (as mentioned before)
windows install exes are often just selfextracting zip files you can try to rename it
to zip and see if you can open it and just copy out the cab file yourself
or do a search of your pc hd like the install dir of the pda program
as there is always a cab file somewhere
transfer it to your pda and run it from there and see if it helps
Well tried to do it as you said, err..Still no effect.
You see, actually when I run the setup, and it says it's succesfully installed, I see no sign of files on my xperia, storage card program files/ device itself, it just doesnt transfer any files (or .cab's) to my device.
Btw, renamed .setup to .zip , you were right - its just a compressed file

}
As you see, 3 .cab's, whose, I guess, must be installed with setup..
Anyway, no success here
Maybe there is another way?

Opera Mini 5 Final (not beta) +jbed

install 2009VGAJavaAndOperaMini5Beta2(if not installed)
install opera-mini-5.0.18635-advanced-en (final)
run opera mini final and exit java
Copy the file \windows\appdb\selector.utf to your PC
(make sure backup this file first in case something goes wrong!)
Remove read-only attribute
Extract the file “sign_operamini.exe”
from my zip to the same folder and run it.
It will patch the selector.utf and create a backup too.
Now replace the selector.utf file in the pocket PC with the patched.
Create the shortcut manually using any text editor. Shortcuts have the file extension ".lnk". So, for example, lets create a file in a text editor, and save it with the file name OperaMini.lnk, the contents of the file should look similar to this :
Code:
28#"\windows\jbed.exe" -run s0_
DONE
I think this is already covered in the Opera Mobile/Mini all versions thread. Plus I think the Opera Mini 5 native for WinMo is a better option.
this i not beta. you are talking about the beta 2 version and wm opera has many problems. sorry my bad english
Thanks,
This will be posted on the Official Opera thread
I like almost everything in opera mini 5, but some nice functions still missing..., like:
- copy link command from another application doesn't have support for "paste" into the operamini;
- missing flash content player support (for animated images on most websites).
Skyfire web explorer has almost everything it's needed and it's free . The only thing in skifire that needs to be improved is scrolling the page like operamini, very smooth and quick .
I cant download this. says virus alert. and shuts down. Just wanted to let you know.
edit: got it downloaded on my home pc. thanks!

I first post all the icons in a folder on my SD card.. then change then using JWMD. then using JWMD again, I clear the cache file, and soft reset.
Then I go back to the file folder on the SD card and remove all the icon PNG files I did not use, and save the ones I did use in the file on the SD card.
that way if for some reason I have to do a hard reset, I have the icons already to go, and dont have to dig, or wait 5 minutes for JWMD to load all the images.
I *think* the OP is asking about the one or 2 icons that dont change in the quick link page.. Like the vid recorder, even after clearing the cache file.
I'm sure there is a way to fix it, but I dont know how (sorry). Up to this point I have no need to place those icons in my quick links, so I just kinda avoid it, and havent looked for the solution.

LG L9 P769 Home button not responding

Hi. recently I have been trying to change the android_id, and ran into a problem in the process. i resulted to editing the setings.db file. since then after i fixed permissions, and restarted, now the home button doesn't respond. I know it isn't a hardware issue because when i press it the LED lights still respond by blinking when I push it, but that's it. please anyone? this is a gift

Restoring the file should get it working as usual. If you don't just re flash your ROM. That's the only way I knit that will fix it. Or open your ROMs .zip. Locate the file and push it to your phone.

ok, I cant flash a new rom because i cant figure out how to connect unlock the boot loader. so where in the zip would be the setings.db file? so i can push it to the phone

I'm not sure, I don't own a lg.
Just open up a file explorer in your phone. Then just type in the search "settings.db" and it should should the file. Up the top it shows you what folder its in. Then just a find a ROM or stock ROM you're using then find it in that, then push the file to the destination in your phone using adb.

Maybe you use titanium to remove some development install. Here is it, on my phone

[Q] Help!

So, I seem to be having a problem using a USB stick, on two of my devices...
It seems as soon as I connect it, it somehow automatically steals 3 files from my device, and
the files end up on the flash drive.
I have no idea how this is happening, and what's worse is I don't know where the files go, if I were to put them back...
Thanks.
can you please specify which type of files they are
You can try to compress these file so they dont get deleted by any app
also try to use another file explorer like ES-FileExplorer
maybe the files are hidden
try to open this location in your pendrive
G:/_/ or G:/-/
Where G is the drive letter of your usb stick
Press thanks button if it helped somehow

Thanx,
The files are:
FOUND.000
LOST.DIR
System Volume Information
These register as on my usb stick (Kingston Data Traveler) when I check the disk with ES File Explorer when it is plugged into my phone...
Same thing happens when I plug it into my tablet.
So, how do I put these files back on my device and where do they go?
-also-
How do I keep this from happening again?
These files you mentioned are of no use for you though............
so i dont think you need them
Also,
these files are created by android os itself.
So maybe if you plug that sd card from one mobile to other the system either overwrites the file or simply delete it
As i said these files are of probably no use to you so i think let it go .......
