I've recently downloaded Llama and am amazed that this app is free! I've set up the basics (turn on/off Wi-Fi when I enter/leave home/work, go on vibrate at work, etc.), but do you gents/ladies have any personal suggestions or tips on events I can set up to grease the wheels of my day-to-day grind?
Llama is a must have free app if you don't already use the paid app Tasker. Using cell towers as a battery-free location service is a great idea and more apps are starting to use that now.
My favorite uses for Llama are saving battery by toggling auto sync and fixing a pet peeve of mine: plugging in headphones and not realizing the volume is too loud. Second one is a bit tricky and needs to work in conjunction with the Sound Profiles you've already set up for Day/Night etc.Lastly, you can also use it as an easy way to change the brightness automatically throughout the day.
ex.
Auto-Sync
-When using Battery, Disable Account Sync
-When Charging, Enable Account Sync
Volume Control
-When any wired headset is connected - Change Profile to Headphones
-At Home between (Set Time){when wired headset is disconnected} Change Profile to Normal
-At Home between (Set Time){when wired headset is disconnected} Change Profile to Quiet
Am I the only one with the current bug that allows calls through even when I'm in silent mode? If it works for you what version of llama are you on?

Latest version and no such issue. There is the option to set certain contacts as "Noisy" and they will ring anyways even when silent.
Edit your Silent profile and make sure your ringtone and notification volume is set to 0.
some aids i use:
temp mute phone when using camera
start music when headset connect
kill musicplayer when headset disconnect
silent at work
only wifi at home
no problems with calls on silent

Hi,
is there any app available that alows me to schedule a number of operations on my phone?
for example, I can set peak hours for push email on my phone, however this only allows for a single period. When I'm at work, I have my phone on silent as the constant beeping as emails are recieved would be annoying, but then this does mean that I might miss phone calls as I'm not always looking at my phone and don't see it light up. So having two periods of "push" activity would be useful.
Or, how about switching Push off if my phone is on silent. That way when I'm at work and am receiving emails on my PC, the TP isn't using the battery by also receiving emails?
anything like that out there that would let me set almost limitless options? switching other things on/off when the phone profile changes? or scheduling things to happen at more then 1 point in the day?
thanks
have a look at phone alarm (www.pocketmax.net). Allows you to schedule profile changes depending on time, location etc. Can also enable/disable push mail settings, wifi, bluetooth, sound volumes, ring tones, notifications etc for each profile.
You could have it setup so that whilst you are at work, push mail is deactivated, ringtones etc set to a mid level and a standard ring. When leaving work, push mail is enabled together with a change in the ring tone and volumes.
I think it allows you to set up 10 different profiles which can be switched manually, time based, or using location data (cell data or gps). It has a 15 day trial, so have a play andsee if it does what you want.
^^ looks similar to CommMgrPro but I don't think either will work if you're not on a GSM network. Any location based profile changer for CDMA phones? I guess I should really make a seperate thread for this.
Should work fine on non-gsm. If you can't schedule by cell tower id, here are your options:
1. set up a "work" profile. ..choose the items you want to be notified of - or not and how you want to be notified.
2. set the automated switching...that can be done by cell tower, ID, WiFi SSID, time, day or category status. Say you want the phone to ring between noon and one only and silent the rest of the work day...you can make that happen.
Say you don't want your phone to "harvest" e-mails until 5:15 pm - but not on Saturday or Sunday - you can make that happen.
Say you want the phone's alarms and sound to be loud when you drive in the car, but with a bright backlight during daylight driving and a dim backlight during nightime driving...phoneAlarm will do it.
that you manually switch to in the office. You can mute all the calls, alarms, message notifications - or just some. Soft sounds, no sounds vibrate...
coming from a BB, my cell is all i use, is there a way at night i can shut off all sound notifications except the phone itself? i dont want to be woken up all the time with emails coming in, and or texts..
is there an option? or an app? widget?
thanks!
The best suggestion I can make is a app called Setting Profiles. The Light version only allows for one profile while paid version allows for more.
One can make profiles based on location, time, calendar events, etc. I use it to silence my phone when I have meetings indicated on my calendar.
Two more apps are PhoneWeaver (auto and manual switching) and Quick Profiles (manual switching only).
One more app you can check out with auto changing of sound profiles is Sound Manager. Works very well.
Hello. I need a little help with Tasker, I've used it for 3 days and I love it but I can't figure out something. So I made 2 profiles, first one is when I turn ON Bluetooth and my Bluetooth headphones are ON also, phone connects to headphones, turns ON mobile data and opens Spotify app, that works good. The second profile is when I turn off the headphones, the Bluetooth and mobile data turns off also, this also works perfect but the problem is that if both profiles are ON in Tasker at the same time and if I try to turn ON Bluetooth, Bluetooth just turns ON for 2 seconds and then automatically turns off,so I can't turn ON Bluetooth with both profiles active, I need to turn off the profile that disconnects Bluetooth and mobile data. What can I do? Sorry for my English Thanks!
Make the second profile your exit task
Open tasker go to profiles, touch your connect profile and hold the name behind the green arrow.
A menu will pop up and you can choose "add exit task".
There you add the tasks that you want it to do when you disconnect

Hello,
I have a Galaxy S5 running CM12.1 and I am having a couple of issues using Tasker to control volume levels.
I have four profiles set up called Home, Out, Night and Work. Home is active when connected to my home WIFI network, Night is active when connected a power source between the hours 11-7, Out is active at all other times except between the hours of 9-5 Monday to Friday when Work is active.
The tasks in these profiles (among other things) change the phone volume levels.
The first issue is, when a headset is connected, the media volume always returns to the volume it was last time the headset was connected. It doesn't matter if you manually change the volume before connecting the headset or run the task to set the volume, it always returns to its previous volume. if you check the volume sliders to make sure they are correct before you connect, then you can see it jump back up again on connection.
The second is, I cannot set notification and ringtone volumes independently (Settings, Sound, 'Link Ringtone & Notification Volume' is unchecked). If ringtone is set to 6 and notification to 0, then notification stays at 6. If ringtone is set to 0 and notification to 6 then notification is muted.
Any suggestions welcome.
Thanks

The volume returning to the previous level when you connect headphones is probably a setting in your media player or if you're using a sound mod such as Viper4Android then it might be in its settings.
As for the independent volumes, that is probably a ROM issue, the developer would have to fix it in his ROM, let them know of this issue by posting in their ROM thread or by sending them a PM.

Your media volume control is divided into the headset volume, and the loudspeaker volume. And they're not synchronized. So each will be set independently whenever you adjust them.
Your "media" volume depends on which of the outputs you're using at that particular time (Loudspeaker vs Headset) when the profile is triggered.
So the headset volume will always remain unchanged/unaffected by the tasker profile (unless the headphones are plugged in when you run the profile)
Unless there's a way you can have tasker explicitly identify and target the headset volume and the loudspeaker volume separately, then I don't think there's a fix for that particular issue.
I'm not sure about your second issue though. The first part seems to be a bug, but the second part is working as intended. Once your ringtone is set to 0 then your phone automatically goes to vibrate or DND/Silent. Which means no notifications
Hi guys. I'm using the device for quite a while now (global, DE vodafone), and I am surprised there is no silent mode toggle. I can switch between vibration and sound, and also I can switch the DND, but I cannot and I do not see the way to turn on the silent mode. Anybody has a tip?
Yes you have to go into settings and unselect vibrate for silent
Afterwards you can push power and louder together to enable vibra temporarily. To switch back silent you just tip once louder and again silently.

For years I've used an app called Sound Profile Pro which allows me to set up however many sound profiles I want. It allows me to control volumes, DND, vibration, ringtones etc. It even can change Bluetooth and wi-fi status, screen brightness and more.
It lets me put a 1x1 widget on my home screen which, when pressed, gives me instant access to all the profiles I've defined. And, helpfully, it'll change the widget's appearance to always show whatever icon I've associated with the last chosen profile.
There is a free app, but the widget needs the pro version. Both are available in the Play store.

That make sense, however I wanted to avoid installing extra app for such an essential thing

Hi found this thread whilst trying to resolve this issue myself. Ended up contacting oppo on their live chat and you can edit your toggle menu by clicking on the button which looks like write/edit to the left of the settings button on the toggle menu.
