[Working]HOW TO TRANSFER CHARGE AND DATA BETWEEN TWO PHONES WITHOUT PC/BLUETOOTH/WIFI share and JUST Usb OTG and a USB cable
Hi guys.. Axaitechie here with a small piece of solution which I dont think many people around the world might be knowing or might be.. For those who dont know..this post if for them..extremely helpful for those who need it!
Yes if u need to transfer data between two phones like GBs of data n u u have atleast one phone that supports OTG and u been looking for pc to transfer data or been trying to use wifi share apps trust me this is a solution to npc-less transfers and EVEN U CAN BORTOW YOUR FRIENDS BATTERY CHARGE IF YOU ARE RUNNING LOW ON BATTERY!!!!!!
With just an OTG n a USB cable you CAN transfer data and battery charge between two phones!!
youl need:
A) 2 phones (atleast one with OTG support)
B)OTG connector
C)Usb cable.
D)file explorer like es file explorer
Here on il refer the phone that contains data and charge as "host" phone n to phone to be transferred as "second" phone.
If your second phone is a xperia device then go to settings ->xperia connectivity ->usb connectivity
Change the usb connectivity mode from "MTP" to "MSC"..
Steps:
1)Just connect OTG cable to host phone...
2)The second phone connect usb cable.. N the pc usb part.. Which u connect to pc...connect it to the OTG
*REMEMBER*
3)In the second phone select ur mass storage option!!
4) use file explorer (I used Es file explorer coz its the best I used)
BINGO.. On host phone u can see the memory card of second phone as "usbdisk"...plus.. The second phone will charge battery from first phone...
Worked on
my xperia Z1 as host and micromax a65 as second phone..
my xperia Z1 as host and micromax a116 as second phone..
my xperia Z1 as host and xperia M as second phone..
my xperia M as host and xperia z1 as second phone..
Well all permutations of these phones..
If this post helped u please click the thanks button.. Just a click

I have broken screen and digitizer on one phone which is locked with pattern. I would like to unlock it to get my photos from it. Is it possible to use one android as a mouse to control second android.? Phones are connected with USB cable.

Not sure exactly... But it works only in mass storage mode...media transfer mode is not detected in the host phone .. Apparently there's not work around for this...but if you are running custom ROMs on second phone..u may get an option to run it as Mass Storage ..

I'll check that out then thx for the tip =3. But do you think that maybe because i used an OTG connector with a male micro usb3 host =O instead of a normal micro usb2 ? I did do an awkward connection =P And don't know if it poses a problem because on one side (through my "master" phone) i connected the male host micro usb3 OTG connector, and on the other side basic male micro usb2. (I'm gonna try using micro usb2 for the master and slave phones and i'll tell you how that goes too ;3)

Everytime I connect 2 devices, I get a pop-up for gallery and it scans only images from the secondary (slave) phone. The Host phone will not acknowledge anything more than the pictures on the secondary device. I've been searching for days, is this thread completely dead?

thank you
connecting external hard drive (transcend 25M3) to android phone ( micromax a116) ( )
Good news for everyone who want use external hard drive with android phone. I connected my Micromax A116 with transcend store jet 25M3 1TB external hard drive without rooting of phone. You have to possession of OTG cable only. Transcend hard drive one benefit that its having connecting cable with two USB male point . One for specifically power supply and other for data transfer. I used my Micromax phone charger having out put - DC 5V 1A with USB connected. first I have given power supply by connecting USB end of hard drive to the Micromax phone charger then I connected data transfer USB of hard drive to OTG cable then its micro USB end to my Micromax a 116. And its successfully access all the file and folder in hard drive. Plz Keep in mind that hard drive formatted in FAT32. Your phone should be supporting USB storage devices. And biggest thing is you don't require any rooting or additional apps for connecting. I think it will be very helpful for Micromax A 116 users . I can easily play HD video from my hard drive.

i have a noir A10 and i have connected an 80 gb hard drive via otg cable and an app installed on my phone i.e Stickmount.
So what am I doing wrong???
I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 and I wish to connect it to a USB hard drive. The one I'm using at the moment is an old 40gb drive but, if I can get bit to work, I intend to get a bigger one.
Sooo...
I've got a USB OTG lead.
I've connected the drive using a 'Y' lead to ensure that there is enough power for the hard drive.
I'm using ES3 File explorer.
I've connected USB sticks and cards also used USB hubs and Card readers with perfect results.
ES3 recognises the drive and asks for permission to access it but when I give permission it says "Sorry the operation failed". Trying again gives a different message "Failed to open the file".
I've tried reformatting the drive as NTFS, exFAT and even FAT32 but it makes no difference.
The drive works perfectly when connected to a number of other devices.
Any ideas?

[Q] usb stroage problem in my sony xperia m2

when i connect my usb stroage i works fine but when romoving the phone is lagging and sometimes it is restarting.......can any please solve my problem?
I have the same problem, sometimes it goes fine but many others the cell get freeze and restart itself.
I don't use OTG a lot, most of times I use Wifi File Transfer to transfer files from PC. Anyways it's a bit annoying.
I'm using KitKat .040
does the m2 support usb otg? and if so, do i need a special cable/powered hub?
Yup, Xperia M2 supports OTG. You will only need a micro USB OTG cable.
The problem we have is when we disconnect the cable from the phone and we get some lag, some app's can't start or the cell reboots.
I have tried my cable right now, I've watched a couple of minutes of a movie and after unplug it I got force Yup, Xperia M2 supports OTG. You will only need a micro USB OTG cable.
can any one solve my problem.........

One app that will solve file transfer problems?

Hi, Hoping there are some out there that have experience with file transfer from an Android phone. I am somewhat new to the arena and it looks like there is apps out there but I'm wondering if there is an all in one for my needs... I would like to be able to:
Transfer larger files from my phone to my NAS (Diskstation) and my PS4. At home wireless might not be the fastest but probably the most practical. I have tried BubbleUpnp but it looks like all I can do is stream from the phone to a device, not transfer the files. If I have that wrong please let me know. Also I've had times when in Hotel rooms the wireless is not strong enough to transfer files, and would like to be able to transfer from phone to PS4 over USB if possible. If that amounts to a couple different apps that's ok, just was trying to make this as simple as possible. Thanks in advance for any help!
Edit: I have a Motorola Droid Turbo 2

Ok, that didn't go well.. How about just this. I have an SD card formatted to FAT32. I plug my phone via cable into my ps4, select transfer files in the automatic menu that pops y on the phone and my ps4 doesn't recognize it. Is there a way to get my phone to recognize the storage while in the phone and through USB? Must I take it out of the phone and put into a USB reader? Thanks for any help..

You do have a few options:
1. get an OTG (on the go) micro usb to full usb (female) adapter, attach a usb stick to your phone using the adapter, copy the files to the stick and pack to the ps4
2. ES File Explorer is an app that supports file transfer over http (amongs other things) and through it's help section it shows you how to do it if you do not know how. however that requires that the ps4's internal drive is shared over your network.
Hope that helps

Here's the thing.
It depends on the phone itself. Some phones, when connected to pc/other devices are recognised as mass storage devices (like any other usb stick).
Most phones though, especially after android 4.4 are recognised as mtp (media transfer protocol) devices, meaning that it depends on the target device (pc/ps4/etc) on how its is going to be handled or managed.

transfer 250gb

Good morning.
How to transfer all my pictures and videos from OP7 Pro to external HDD or at least into PC in reasonable time...? Via cable is going veeeeery long same as WiFi way.... Any advices or previous experiences?
Cable is giving me error after few hours..
Kind regards
Artur
WIFI or USB, choose one of them. USB 3 is actually pretty fast
USB C would be much faster than WiFi, get a better cable and/or interface for it.
I'm not sure if it suits you or not to compress the files on phone before transferring it, it makes the read from phone storage and write to HDD process a lot faster and by the way it keeps files chronically ordered when extracted.
I always use this trick for backing up my phone data but it's not perfect when transferring from HDD to phone storage because it's limited to 4 gb for a file, so I make a split 4 gb RAR files then transfer them to phone storage and use RAR apk to extract them.
The problem is ... that I have oryginall OP7Pro Cable which came with phone... I also have updated drivers + drivers for OP phone and this combination doesnt benefits me... Im Running our of empty space thats why im forced to ask for some live hacks
Use a usb c 3.1 cable if your pc has type c port, it's a lot faster than the stock 2.0 cable transfers, like 5-10 times faster

Nop,it just has a type c port but it is 2.0,I don't know which cable you got but I got only 2.0,it has only 4 lanes,2 for data transfer.
you surprised me right now... I thought that all usb C are 3.0 as this is standard for them... Yes my PC has usb 3.0. And I tried today one more time and it copied 190gb out of 250gb and there was no error on the screen...

You could backup your photos and videos to Google photos then free up the space in your phone
Transfer using usb 3 port
I would have cut and paste. That way when it fails, only the non copied files are left and you can begin it again without starting over.
I never had a reliable connection with direct cable Copy and paste. I usually go with FTP(filezilla + Solid explorer FTP) for stable copying of files. Speed is also very good.
KEep in mind to keep the screen on for 30 min.. sometimes the connections breaks if the screen goes off..
Use Oneplus switch to create a backup, this will put everything into one folder, the compress the folder into a single zip file. This will at least fix the issue error mid transfer.
Just upload it some where much better. Then download when pc....
