Recommendation for multiple user ROM - Asus Transformer TF700

Has anyone had experience of multiple users on a customer ROM.
I am thinking I may go down the 4.4 route, but I am currently using CROMI with rom2sd, and wondered if anyone had any recommendations as I am haveing problems with random reboots, losing the secondary user details etc.
Many Thanks

Multi-user never worked well on stock and it doesn't work well on CROMi either. I'm not sure if CM roms support it at all... It bogs down the tablet. Best to forget about it...

Jellybean Roms

With all the Jellybean Roms popping out for the Infinity, it's a little confusing to choose which ones are going to blend well with ones personality and usage... I'm not sure if this also applies to some, but it would be great if we could get some testimonials from those who have tried the different roms... probably post their pros and cons or maybe certain things and features that are not working with that Rom...
Hope someone could share their experiences here with the roms.. this might enlighten some users who are still contemplating whether to unlock their devices or not

I haven't tried a lot of ROMs for the tf700 yet, but I have noticed EOS' ROMs are basically stock-based, with some tweak to make the performance better and to OC. You can also slightly personalise things (like the statusbar color) or use a CM10 theme.
However, they are usually very stable, which is why I have been using them for months now on my Xoom, and chances are I'll use them on the tf700 as well
If you are really into customisation, you should have a look into most CM10-based ROMs or OAKP.
They really try to get as many features crammed in the ROM as possible!
I myself don't need that customisation and have found that stock based ROMs, with tweaked kernels usually do the trick.
(Maybe a little OC as well, but that's not even a must for me.)
It really depends on what you want.
But since most JB roms are in pretty early stages, I'd recommend to have a look into one of the ROMs you seem to like, read the latest pages of the threads and see if there are many issues or not. Most common issues are also mentionned in the first post of the ROM thread!
Maybe if you really want a daily driver, you should go and use Zeus first, and when the JB are really stable, you can switch to those?
All the JB roms are using the same alpha base... no gps and other bugs/performance issues. If you are looking to run JB I would wait awhile longer.
Trying new custom ROM's is something you have to like. If you really want to have a nice and stable system you probably better
wait for a stable version. But if you want to experience the early stages of what will be coming, installing new ROM's is a lot of fun.
I currently have the CM10 ROM installed compiled by Hiemanshu. Still have issues but i am amazed by the performance of Jelly Bean.
When i bought my TF700 i was kind a dissapointed by the perfomance of ICS but now i have had an insight of Jelly Bean i am totally happy again!
That's exactly why installing custom ROM's is worth the effort.
FWIW my experience is a little different. I tried the EOS and Baked Bean ROMS and like them both, but had an issue with the Portrait bug as one of my companies main apps requires Portrait if I want to use it on a Tablet. Also, even though I don't really need it, it did bother me that there was no GPS, and the wallpaper bug was just annoying. I figured that any issue with bootloader would eventually be fixed so I then did the TF700 version of the 300 build. Could not be happier. None of the bugs I just mentioned, Good performance, and I just installed Lux to address the brightness issue so that is not a problem either.

Did you apply the .30 update to get the TF700 bootloader back?

Might have to give that a shot later now that we can go back to ICS.

Does CleanROM "fix" all ootb issues with TF700?

So I've read here and elsewhere that there seems to be QC issues with the TF700. I hear about multiple returns until customers receive one without issues.
My question is, if I buy one used, can I "fix" any issues with TF700 by flashing CleanROM onto it?
I have no qualms about losing warranty by rooting/flashing.
Should I buy new, find one without issues on the stock rom, and then flash it with CleanROM? If there are issues out-of-the-box, will I have issues even after flashing CleanROM?
If the problems are hardware related, I can't imagine flashing a new ROM would solve the problems.
Thanks in advance.

You already knew the answer. Cleanrom wil not fix any hardware issue or JB bugs. However, Cleanrom will fixed lagginess, stuttering, performance and smooth scrolling plus added some upgrade to gmail, calendar, camera etc.. and provided bunch of options(launchers, file browsers etc..) during installation.

I guess the only way I would know if there's a hardware issue is if I try CleanROM. Thanks for the reply.

I'm stuck in the same predicament. But thanks for the input I may just finally do it. For the most part my tf700 works ok. All you've mentioned that cleanrom fixes are all the things that bother me with tf700 JB. Thanks again.

[Q] ROM Advice

I'm sure there are a few threads like this, and obviously each person is going to have their own view of their preferred ROM. With that said...
I'm trying to choose between two ROMS:
CleanROM 5.0
-or-
LIQUIDSMOOTH RC 9
I'm aware of the core differences (AOSP vs modded), and I think I'm ultimately leaning towards the AOSP ROM, purely based off keeping it as close to the original source code as possible. What is really going to be the deciding factor, and please post your experience and advice if you've used both ROMs, are the following questions:
1) Method of flashing - Same method for both ROMs?
2) Do both ROMs have working GPS functionality?
3) What are the major benefits and/or drawbacks of those ROMs individually?
4) Any showstopper or critical bugs in either ROM?
5) Recommended radio for the associated ROM?
This is a work phone (no, there isn't an issue with me doing this -- I work for an open source software company) so I am very hesitant to do something that could effect my day-to-day without a degree of certainty. I appreciate any assistance with this, including the "gtfo, use search, or tl;dr responses". Mucho gracias!
I think the best radio to use is the one that worked best in your area so far, it seems to be different for everybody. I had best results with k1. I personally like the TW ROMs just for the certain features that came stock with the phone that you don't get with aosp. That being said liquid has always had excellent ROMs and any little problems that there may be. There is always some sort of work around just have to some searching.

Those were the two ROMs I got down to in my selection process as well. I was going to try both but starting with CleanROM. I've like CR so much I haven't switched. I have had no issues with 5.0 at all. I switched to the newest modem/rpm when I flashed CR and have had no issues with it. Having said that, there are people on the CR thread who have been having some issues, many caused by other mods they have added. You might want to check out the thread to see if there have been any reports of issues that would specifically affect you. It is a VERY long thread so use search rather than trying to read all the posts. Scott is very much involved in the thread, answers questions readily, and is extremely good at fixing anything that is a ROM issue.

Will changing my ROM fix the bugs on OPO?

Hi all
i've been having random reboots and ghost gestures on my OPO and from what i heard it's a software issue
so if i changed my ROM to let say SLIMKAT will this resolve the issue?
Yes.
Definitely. I had Bluetooth streaming issues and FC problems with the stock CM11s ROM. I expected this with all the issues I experienced with CM11/CM10 on my Nexus 4 and Nexus 5. Switching to Vanir AOSP ROM solved all my issues. I can also confirm that Mahdi and Slimkat are great options.
The unfortunate reality is that since Cyanogen has turned into a legitimate company they've allowed their ROMs to slip dramatically. They used to always be known as the top tier go to for the most bug free experience. These days they are sub-par at best and there are many MUCH better options. 100% functionality with no bugs can no longer be expected from CM ROMs, unfortunately..
Your problems are not likely from CM11s being an inherently buggy ROM. Scores of people (including myself) have had zero issues with it. There are other potential causes of your problems that should be considered as well.
Most of the benefit of flashing a different ROM is probably starting with a clean install and no cache. Doing a factory reset of 38R may do the trick too. Nevertheless, you should flash another ROM just for fun
thanks for the reply guys
most ROMs are similar right ? so i won't go wrong with flashing any of them right?

They are all basically a derivative of cm11 or aosp. Just go to each rom and read up on users issues and how happy or upset they may be. Then look for features you may or may not be interested in. I am a crdroid user but slim or mahdi are great choices as well. You do know if you do not like one you simply wipe and try another....:good:

[Q] Fastest ROM & setup for TF700

When I first got the TF700 I was so happy. Now a couple years later, no matter what I do the thing becomes laggy to the point where it's unusable. I've tried CROMi-X, CROMBi-KK, stock, and multiple combinations. Now that Lollipop ROMs are out I'm thinking of re-flashing again.
So the question is: based on everything that's out NOW, what's the fastest ROM and setup so that I can make this tablet usable again? Most likely I'll be buying a new 10" when one comes out without capacitive touch buttons, but for now I need this to work. I don't care about anything besides smooth performance and quickness. I have very few apps installed that I need besides Gmail, Browser, Netflix, and a few others.
Did you ever get an answer to your question posted here?
I mean that I know you have not received an answer here but did you get one anywhere?
My symptoms are virtually identical to yours and I can't understand how it is possible for a tablet this good to become so basically worthless in just a couple of years.
I'm hoping that you have found an answer somewhere and you will be willing to share what you've learned.

Opinions will vary, but my recommendation is ZOMBi-POP after using the format data option in TWRP 2.8.6 which will wipe and trim every single block on data, then converting data to f2fs. ZOMBI-POP really shines on f2fs.
Nope I haven't figured anything out besides what's in this post.
