stuck on google logo on boot - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I've made a stupid mistake,
I am using cm11 and I tried to flash faux's kernel, in the middle I had problems with twrp so I formatted the sd card.
I don't have nandroid backup, and I can't transfer files through the recovery (is there a way?).
Please help me.

You need to use adb push to transfer a ROM to the phone while in recovery, then flash it.

Thanks, i mannaged to push the room trough twrp sideload.

nvm I used my pc's device manager to work adb
I did something stupid like this yesterday. If you have a recent enough TWRP, you can use the Advanced-> sideload app option with adb to download a rom to where you can install it using twrp.

All you have to do is put the rom zip on your micro sd card, then TURN OFF your device. Now boot into twrp then select install by browse to the micro sdcard to select the rom zip file.

I had a very similar 'No OS' problem and I wasn't sure if I would be able to reboot into recovery but thank you for answering my question!

[Q] AT&T HTC One X Softbricked-CMmod

I believe I have bricked my phone. I was running a rooted HTC One X AT&T with an odex Jellybean/HTC Sense 4+ ROM. I wanted to test out a Cyanogenmod. Big mistake. I tried to flash it from TWRP recovery, after backing up my previous ROM, however, it was stuck in an endless boot loop. I took advice from some people online and reflashed it/ wiped caches/dalvik cache etc... When I realized it would not work unless I fastbooted it myself using USB debugging I tried to reinstall the old ROM, of course, after wiping the Cyanogenmod. Long story short there was no backup even though I backed up the phone! I now have no ROM and everything on my system is gone! My SD card folder only has a TWRP recovery and I can't install any .zip files. TWRP isn't even allowing me to mount my SD card so putting any files are out of the question. I believe, however, that usb debugging was on the whole time (is it on if on the boot loader it says fastboot usb when I plug in a USB?). Is there anyway to fix this?? I'm really screwed if I can't and please don't direct me to another thread because I need personalized help. I'm doing this on a mac by the way so anyone who knows how to use the terminal would help a lot. I can get access to windows though if needed. Just please help.
Have you tried to flash the boot.img from the zip file in fastboot?
Do you know what a brick is? When your phone does NOTHING... Similar to a brick.
What happened to you is you didn't flash the boot.img through fastboot, which caused your first problem, the bootloop..
Second thing you did incorrect was perform a factory reset in boot loader... Which completely wipes your SD card and corrupts it, and which just so happened to contain your backup no worries, easily fixable...
Download a rom on your computer. While its downloading, enter recovery and choose mount. Navigate to my computer and right click the removable storage option. Choose format. Once its done, drag rom onto phone.. Flash rom in twrp.
Extract rom on your computer, grab the boot.img and flash with fastboot.
Fastboot flash boot boot.img
Reboot phone and profit
EDIT: sorry but I hastily skimmed through your post... Those are half-assed instructions for windows, I have no clue what to do on a mac

What he said. Toolkits are easily found too

switched recoveries and now no backup or os!? HELP!!!

So I had my phone rooted running fine with the latest cwm recovery and did a nandroid backup, then I flashed the twrp img for a new recovery and that went fine. Where i messed up is i tried to flash a lockscreen handle mod and it got stuck in bootloop...so no biggie i thought...well then i wiped everything and proceeded to restore my backup i made except apparently twrp wont restore cwm backups and i have no rom or gapps on my internal storage so i have no OS? Please someone assist me on how to fix. I have connected the phone to try and adb push a rom to it but it will not connect with latest sdk. it show's it's connected on bootloader but no luck in adb it says device not found. Thank you so much for any input!!!

Can't access my A511 over adb anymore

Hello,
I tried to flash CM11 on my A511. First, I unlocked my bootloader which worked fine, then I flashed this recovery (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2742935) over fastboot. I tried to reboot but I got a boot loop. I though this is because I have a LVM recovery, but still the stock rom without LVM. Therefore I thought I just can copy the CM.zip to my tablet via adb push. But it doesn't show my device on "adb devices" anymore. Neither in the bootloader, nor in the recovery. What can I do now? :/
thank you!

Hi
Copy any ROM KK with LVM support on your external SD Card (like CM11 or Paranoid), put it on your tab, reboot into CWM you flashed (you can also use TWRP if you want)
and flash the ROM (and you should also wipe data)
Should work fine

No OS installed on oneplus one. PLEASE HELP!

So while I was testing a kernel my phone wouldnt turn on anymore, it was getting stuck on the boot loop, so I tried a lof of things but still didnt get it to work, finally I wiped all the partitions, even the system, I am available to use TWRP and fastboot mode but it says theres not an OS installed. Im very frustrated as its been a few days already without phone.... So i would be very thankful if you could help and please be very specific since my english is not very good, I am learning, thanks again.
If you connect your phone to your PC while you're booted into TWRP you should be able to copy a ROM zip from the PC to the phone.

Ok, you'll need to use fastboot to flash the stock images then. You have fastboot access, right?

Opo "no os installed"
I was flashing CM12 nighty on my OPO. Accidentally I wiped the whole system in recovery i.e I factory data reset my phone. Now when I boot It says NO OS INSTALLED. when i connect my phone during recovery it comes in the disk drives as "One". When i open it it has a folder named TWRP and inside that a file. I also have a nandroid backup of the phone when it ran SuperSU binaries on my PC. Can i transfer the backup to my phone via USB and restore them in recovery? Would that work? I tried adb sideload ROM.zip but after that command lot's of coding appears in CMD and then nothing happens!! So i just wanna know if I restore the nandroid backup would my phone work? I have TRWP installed! Please any help would be appreciated! Plzz help. :crying:

Put your .zip in the TWRP folder. It should show up on your phone.
