Just in case anyone else runs across this, the Uniden wireless charging base, UN904 looks promising, but I can attest to the fact that it does not work for us. Sucks too, because they were normally $30, on clearance for $15 at your local Walgreens. I picked one up and could get the charger to see the phone (LED turns from green to red) but the phone never went into charging mode. I even left if a while to see if it would kick in and it just slowly drained as usual. So I returned it. Just thought I'd share.

UN904 DOES work
I just received mine and it charges the LG Nexus 4 Just fine . You just have to have to face the USB port side of the phone towards the "Uniden" logo. Will post a YouTube video soon.

I would like to know about this too! lemme know if youre having trouble posting links (I can do it for ya, send me a PM)
Any idea what the power requirements are? as I can't seem to find any info.
Could you please let me know if the power adaptor can handle 240v AC ?
Thanks!
RE: Power requirements
Looks like it does.
The AC Adaptor on the one I got reads:
"SWITCHING AC/DC POWER ADAPTER"
Model FLD0710-12.0V1000mA
I/P: AC 100-240V 50/60HZ 0.5A
O/P DC 12.0V 1000mA

Notes on operation
Also, weirdly enough, it only seems to work when it is on a conductive surface: It worked fine on my work desk (it is laminated metal) but refused to power the kitchen table until I placed a metal lid under the charger (possible grounding issue???)
I have recorded both videos of the charger working and the grounding phenomenon, but cannot post direct links yet, I will PM the kind gentleman who offered to post them for me.
I will continue the experimentation and report back

non-working/with issues : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mbAJYvYUe48&feature=youtu.be
by the way, did you managed to get it fully charged? Are there any issues like the nokia charger where it cycles between charging and non-charging?
Re: youtube
Thank you for posting the links
Sorry about the video quality: took the video with a cheap point and shoot during breaks at work.
Seemed to be charging OK at work. Just brought it home, set it on a metal plate (in the future, I might just glue tin foil to the base), and its working fine again. Does not seem to have any cycling so far. Will report in the morning on the charging status.
Overall - a good use of $10
I can't believe it! IT WORKS!
I picked up one of these Uniden UN904 chargers from Amazon because this post in another thread claimed it worked with the Nexus 4:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=34630397&postcount=433
I thought, "what the heck, it's only $5, shipping included." The Amazon listing actually described the item as a Wireless Gear 5WC800, but when it arrived it was actually a Uniden UN904. From looking at the pictures I'm sure it's the exact same item, just rebranded for Uniden. The problem is, it didn't work at all. By playing around with how I placed the Nexus 4 on the charging pad I could trigger the charging light on the pad to turn red (charging indicator) but the phone would not charge and the charging indicator on the phone never came on.
I was about to give the charging pad to a friend that has an iPhone 4 when I read this thread tonight. Excited, I tried putting the Uniden charging pad on a steel cookie sheet before attempting to charge my phone. No go. I tried putting it on a stainless steel frying pan. No go. Then I tried putting it on an aluminum non-stick griddle pan. IT STARTED CHARGING! I think this charging pad needs a non-ferrous (not iron, not steel) metal underneath it in order to charge the Nexus 4. So tried putting it on the sheet of aluminum foil. IT STILL CHARGES! Then I cut a small rectangle of aluminum foil a little smaller than the back the of charging pad and scotch-taped it to the back of the pad. AND IT STILL CHARGES! I'm stoked for only $5.

I wonder if we can use this trick to make the Duracell Powermat work with the Nexus 4. If anyone has the Powermat they should try putting it on a sheet of aluminum to see if it will work.
Also, after a bit of experimenting, it seems the thickness of the aluminum seems to make a difference. My Nexus 4 seems to charge faster when sitting on my non-stick griddle versus a sheet of thin aluminum foil. Plus, the charging pad is less finicky when on the non-stick griddle. When on the griddle, it will charge my Nexus 4 in both orientations (USB port facing the Uniden logo and also facing the opposite direction). When on the aluminum foil, it seems to only charge when my Nexus 4's USB is facing the Uniden logo.
I need to do more testing, but I gotta get to sleep. Will try again tomorrow.

Same exact findings here. Was going to trash the charger until I put it down on an aluminum pot cover and it started working. Ironically I just bought the wcp-700 from Verizon today.

First I have seen several lists of Qi chargers for the Nexus 4
I have to ask because either I can't find them, or they were inconsistent
I heard eventually Google Orb will be out. In the meantime, Energizer Pad works (single or triple...although it looks more like double) and it can even work with a small to medium thick case like TPU
I did hear that LG pad didn't work. Then I heard it did. Then I heard it does with a whole lot of beeping
With all that, I do think I would try one, and at this point the Energizer....when you can find them. It seems Amazon did what Google eventually did. Lets you order, but says a month or so before delivery
Would you go that route. You do lose being able to easily look at the screen, like overnight
Or would you get a nice dock like I have always had

My first one is the Energizer. Similar to the Maxell one overseas. And I also have the LG verizon branded one, with the speaker dismantled/destroyed from beeping. To me the beeping was too loud in a relatively quiet office. They both work fine with the iBlason tpu case on. Oh and the Energizer doesn't have any audible beeps like the LG.
Warning on the Energizer. If using this charger, and you have a naked Nexus 4, the phone will slide off because the unit has a slight incline. Just use a tpu case or something like a old screen protector to grip the phone.
The LG unit works and looks better all around IMO. The footprint is smaller. The only negative is that the only way to disable the speaker is to destroy it and the phone gets a bit warmer than the Energizer.
But in the end, both do work.

I am not very technical, except with phones. Why does the charger beep? And how do you disable the beep?
Thank You

The LG charger beeps to confirm that you placed the phone on the pad correctly. There is a visual mark as well on top of the LG unit so I preferred that and because there was no way to disable the beep unless I had to dismantle the pad and cut off the top of the speaker box and remove the silver disk under the top. In other words, there's no option to switch the beeping off.
I used this thread as reference to remove the speaker...well more like stop the beeping:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2003137
And just to clarify, the Energizer I have is for the single unit.
I just picked up the LG unit at the local Verizon store yesterday. So far, it seems to be working perfectly. The only time it beeps is when I initially place it on the charger.
I do notice it taking longer to charge than with the stock AC charger, especially when just topping off.
I set it up on an armoire where I always drop my wallet and keys and have to admit that it is pretty cool to just drop the phone on it.
I wouldn't put my hopes in the wireless charging orb by google. I'm sure it'll be sold out in 3 minutes just like the phone.

I'm still waiting on my device to be shipped (and may end up picking one up locally for a small premium) but I've heard the Nokia Lumia charging plate works on/off. I have two that I got that I'll try when I receive mine and report back.
I have the Nokia DT-900 wireless charging plate intended for the Lumia 920. And let me tell you it DOES NOT work well at all. No joke, I think it sucks power out of my phone instead of putting it in. I put it on with a 64% charge and came back an hour and 25 min later and it was at 60%. In the mean time I didn't pick it up, didn't receive any notifications...nothing.
The panasonic tm101 is flat and it finds your phone where you lay it. It has a bright blue light and im not sure it can be turned off. I like it. You can cover it up but i think it is 2nd most expensive to the Oregon Scientific clock.

Update - Mini product review
OK, I took one for the team and ordered this August 11. It arrived August 22. Estimated delivery was September 5.
First impressions:
Seems OK. After all, it is just a plastic housing with a coil and control/driver IC inside. Well packaged for mailing. Arrived via USPS. Nothing loose or rattling. Only content was the pad and an adapter cable. No power transformer. I plugged it into a 2 amp source. The blue power led lit up immediately. Placed the phone on the pad, phone indicated charging. No sound. No beep. Phone was likewise quiet. Running CM2. Position is of course kind of touchy. Best for me was when the top of the phone was aligned with the top of the charger. Easy to remember. After about 5 minutes, phone is definitely charging. No concept yet on charge rate/times.
Surface is slick. On any slant the phone will want to slip off. Temp fix was to stretch a beefy rubber band around the charger to act as a "stop". Proper fix (for me - YMMV) will be those little plastic bumpers used on the back of cabinet doors. Only other thing to do is a bit of black plastic spray paint from the basement.
Time will tell if it is reliable. But it was reasonably priced, delivered quicker than promised, and worked out of the box.

yes, i found it quite good, i would recommend one for an office job, just place it on top
the charger will beep then the phone to for successful connection, you can feel the magnet pull it gently, two lights for connections
i found out it stop charging a few times must be when i moved it or it would be a bit fidgety with how i placed it, move it 20cm away and try again till i get the beeps
my nexus charger was squealing with it was connected, i charge by my bed.
will buy another soon and open it and make a better mould for my phone.

I believe receiver is for phones that aren't qi enables, you can add it to your phone so that it can work with a wireless charger.. it adds the induction to the battery of your phone i think. Useless for us cause ours is built in.

Does it let you mute the beep?
Thanks
you can delete the one on the phone but there is no option to mute it on the charger, maybe if you opened it and disable the speaker
, indicator light on the phone would be better.
Can someone explained this message please?
2. Charging Pad Only, the receiver is not included here.(Such as Samsung Galaxy S3 / S4 / Note II, buyer need buy another wireless charging receiver.)
Is there another accessory needed to charge a phone/tablet or it just means you should first own e QI charging phone? Is this the "receiver"?
edit: I am with Nexus 4, does it have the receiver out of the box?
Thanks.
Nexus 4 has the "receiver" built in. It's an induction loop - a wire coil "tuned" to the Qi standard so it matches the coil in the charging pad so current can be induced in the receiving coil, providing power to charge the phone. For some phones (including those Samsung ones mentioned, but also iphones & most others) that don't have inbuilt receivers you can get cases with receivers inside.
Tl;dr? Got n4? Only need a Qi charging pad

I ordered 1 on aug 13 so mine should arrive soon. Thanks for letting us know its ok. A pic would also be nice
Pic - it looks EXACTLY like the pic on Amazon. The dimensions of the plastic housing are 6 x 3.3 x .35 inches.
One thing I did notice last night. I had it on the nightstand and the blue flashing LED is very bright in a dark room. I covered it with a sheet of paper. Hopefully when I spray paint it black that will be less of a problem. It's rainy here today so I may wait till later on to do that.
I hid the charging pad behind one of those acrylic picture frames. Works fine from behind it. Excuse the crappy old phone pics.

I bought one of these based on comments on XDA, and bought two more after confirming that it is excellent. Each unit has 3 coils, so it reliably charges the phone in numerous different positions. It is grippy on both the top and bottom, so it snuggly holds the phone and stays securely on the table-top. It is small, but not too small -- the width is the same width of the phone and the length is about 75% of the phone's length. I always place my phone flush on the surface with the camera bump hanging off the top of the charger, and it charges beautifully. Finally, it causes no considerable heat and no whine or noise of any kind.
A couple things to note: (1) It does not come with a USB wall wart. It only has the charging pad and a micro-usb cable. (2) It does not work with Samsung's fast charging USB wall wart (not sure why). (3) There is a blue LED that lights up when it's activated, which might bother some people (I've covered mine with electrical tape).
What's wrong with the suggestions in the other threads?
@eyc, I'm using a metal bumper case, does it still work with the case on?
BTW, it looks just like what I want, simple and attractive.

I couldn't tell you because I haven't tried...and I don't have a metal case to test it. My wife has an S6 with a thin silicone case and, as you would expect, it works perfectly fine with that. I have an S6-edge, and I keep it bare. While I don't have personal experience with a metal bumper case, I can only speculate that this charger will work as good as the best in light of the 3 coil system. Good luck.

Someone else made a thread about this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/accessories/best-wireless-charger-galaxy-s6-t3101501
I personally have the official one from Samsung. Works fine and haven't had issues with it. Use it for both S6 and S3 (yeah, I still use it as my media player when I'm at home, so I'm not eating up battery on the S6)

It looks nice, what case are you using? I have a metal bumper case, do you have a metal case to test for me? Thanks, dude.:laugh::laugh:
@Daniel323la, Hey, guys, actually I have bought one from ebay , I just used the link shared by Daniel323la, thanks dude.
The shipping is amazing, it came this afternoon. One pic for you, BTW , this charger work with my metal bumper case perfectly, and you can't beat the price at this quality.

Forgot the pic. Here it goes. It will flash blue light once you connect it to the power, and it will only flash one time to indicate that the power is on and no other led light at all, so it won't disturb you even put it in your bedroom, love it so much.

I have this one as well, I agree is is excellent, I had a spare HTC 2 Amp charger plug that works great with this wireless charger. This charger gives off very little heat and charges fine through my Otterbox case.

I tried the metal "Platinum" cases from BestBuy and none of my 4 Qi chargers could charge through it. The metal definitely seems to interfere.
EDIT: When you say "metal bumper", do you mean only the edge is metal, like the Spigen Hybrid Pro? If so then of course that metal would NOT interfere.

Yes, that's what I mean. I don't have a full metal case to test for you, sorry can't help you.
This charger works very good so far, It charges very fast even with a tpu case on.

What a pity, someone likes leds, it can indicate you while charging, but if you want to use it in bedroom, no light will be better. The charger I bought only
ship to us and Canada:crying:
You can choose the 3 coil based wireless charger by CHOETECH as I am using it from last 1 month without facing any problem. There is no need for alignment as the Galaxy S6 starts charging when it gets in contact with any of these 3 coils. I bought it from Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JA7HNZO/
Got in the LG OEM wireless charging back today for the V10. It is of very nice quality and maybe only a hair thicker then stock back, very hard to tell. I don't think there will be any problem fitting into standard cases.
I got it for the everyday low price of $79.00 plus shipping from Amazon.
Only has LG and not V10 on the back corner.
I've add a few pictures showing it side by side with the stock back.
Very cool but also a bit pricey but it's LG oem so your gonna pay a bit more bought a cheap back cover from china with wireless charging that works well only paid about 15 bucks it has a leather back and the fit isn't quite as good as the stock back if you have the money I would definitely get the one you picked
I've used both Yootech and OEM. OEM charges quite a bit quicker and with less heat.
Thanks to the OP's for the information and photo's.
It isn't going to be much different in the quality of the charging, the only different is the built quality, the QI and PMA circuit (PCB) is in the phone, the back cover only contains the coil to complete the wireless charging part.
The current coil use for both the OEM and third party is a flexi coil, isn't the best, it's used because it's thin, I'm going to mod mine when I get the V10 within the week, and put a proper copper strand wire coil, has better detection, less heat and less transmission loss.
I have a few types of coils made especially for wireless charging, and will post back.
you can just buy the Qi receiver sticker for less than $10 and apply yourself.. why would anyone buy this for that price?

That doesn't make sense, the charging hardware is already built into the v10, 3rd party including OEM is just a coil and connection to the pins. Which should not make a difference in charging speed or heat. Only thing that might affect that is placement and alignment of the back of your v10 to the charging pad..
What are you using to determine charging speed and heat?
EDIT: Attached is my Brown Leather Back with NFC/Qi sticker. (btw is that the British way of spelling chargeing?) I've also ordered NeWisdom's sticker, will review once I get it in and on.
Where did you get the leather charging back from? Is it much thicker then the stock back? Please let me know how the NeWisdom sticker works out. Was going to order one also.

You are correct to a certain point, both OEM and third party uses a flexi coil with a flexi magnet, the quality of these also determine the detection and aligment.

There on eBay just search connection station on eBay around $15 four different colors there slightly thicker than the stock back you can tell the difference by the volume buttons but not too bad a fit though
I just received my leather back with wireless charging from eBay today and it's not charging at all, is there some setting I need to turn on? I'm using an official Samsung qi charger btw.

There are no special settings that I'm aware of.
I'm fairly irritated at LG for the glacial speed at which they're releasing official accessories for the v10 . . .
Now that that's out of the way, I bought this: http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B017R40JRA?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00
It's already unavailable (which isn't terribly surprising). It is just a little too thick, which pops the case up a bit over my power/volume buttons (so they're annoying to use). Also, it's pretty much stopped working. I might try to realign the thing, but it worked fine for both NFC and Qi (TYLE Vu) for the first week or so. Now it doesn't reliably charge (though NFC continues to function).
All-in-all, I'd rather pay for an OEM cover, where I SHOULD have to worry less about alignment and having a poor fit.
I'm curious about the NeWisdom though . . .

I liked the wireless charging on my nexus 6 so when i bought the V10 i had to get wireless charging working on it so i bought the leather qi/nfc back for $15 of eBay (connection station) and it works very well with the Anker qi little disc charger i bought off Amazon but the leather back doesn't fit exactly as good as the stock back there's that little gap by the volume buttons you described but worth it to have the wireless charging working
Yeah, I'm going to give it a few weeks--hopefully the stock one will come out (a more reasonable price would be nice too), or someone will come up with a back cover that's a better fit. A guy can dream, right?

GSM and the fact that it literally takes twice as long with the Yootech. So a watch is what I'm using to determine the speed. It can and does make sense as it depends on the conduction of the materials used. If yootech uses different metal composition in the coil then it gives off more heat energy and doesn't charge as fast. Welcome to physics.

That looks pretty nice. Check out my cart here, you can see all my goodies. I'm going with an off brand Spigen clone because I like to use my phone wile it's on the dock and this one looks more stable for that.
I am planning to go with the Yootech back cover. Hopefully it's wont cause the phone to get warm like some others seem to be saying...
For the OEM back, is it able to trickle charge at 100%? On my Nexus 5 at 100% it would just trickle charge and stay connected and cool while keeping the battery full. With my qi leather back I got, it hits 100 disconnects and then reconnects in an endless cycle randomly waking my phone up and keeping it warm. Sometimes my Tylt clone will just shut off completely from the cycling which isn't conducive to having a topped off phone for overnight charging.

Bought a little Anker qi disc charger of Amazon for $12 it claims that it regulates the heat and that it doesn't waste energy overcharging i just put my phone on it when i go to bed wake up and it's at 100% and my phones not hot the charger has 2 led's blue when it's charging and red and blue when the phones charged
