[Q] APNs won't save, amaysim Australia - HTC Sensation

Ok, I hope I'll find some help here.
Yesterday I finally switched from Vodafone Australia to Amaysim (which operates on Optus Network). After switching I noticed that I have to manually choose mobile network every time I reboot, as it couldn't register automatically and also I had no mobile internet, and there was "no service" under mobile network bars. So I went to APN settings and entered what amaysim told me to, but after i hit "save" I get back to previous menu and there's no new apns on the list (in fact the list is completely blank). I've been googling around, tried everything from this thread but nothing works. I even tried pulling out the sim.
I never had such problems with Vodafone, only on amaysim. Also, I transferred my number, if this is important
I'm currently on Android 4.4.2
CM11 build by Sultanxda (11-20140129-Sultan-pyramid),
kernel 3.0.101-Sultan-kernel-ION-r54

It might be a ROM issue. Please check with another ROM and Report back!
Regards
-hunt

Hey hunt,
You're probably right! I did factory reset on my CM11 and problem didn't go. Then I flashed ViperS5 (Android 4.1.2) and voila, no problems whatsoever! I'll try Sultanxda's 4.3 Rom tonight and report back. Cheers!

I m with Amaysim since about an year now and flashed most of the ROMs except recent KitKat ROMs. But i never had to enter APN manually. I tried AOSP, Sense and few other ROMs outside XDA.

So I tried flashing Sultanxda's cm10.2 and same problems as with Kit-Kat. So I guess I'm with Viper for now. Can you recommend any other ROMs that you think would work?

[Q] No service after new ROM flash

I previously had CM10 (experimental) and was having issues with crashes so I decided to flash a new ROM on my device.
I then chose to flash onto LiquidSmooth 4.2.1. After playing around in Liquid, I found some bugs and decided to look for a new ROM to flash.
I chose to flash to CM10.1 Nightly, which I know has data issues. I wiped pretty much everything prior -Dalvik, formatted my SD, formatted system, and whatnot. After my first boot, the phone could not finish "activating the network"
Right now I cannot send/receive calls or texts or have data. I have a small "R" at the top of my signal bars where 4G usually is. I have tried dialing *#*#4636#8#* and made sure LTE/GSM/CDMA auto (PRL) was selected.
Would flashing to stock ROM resolve this issue? Or what could be causing this?
Thanks in advance

I flashed back to touchwiz. I have 4G capabilities, but still no phone service. Should I still try flashing an unofficial CM10 and setting CMDA sub to ruim/sim?

Why am I having such trouble going to an AOSP ROM can keeping 4G/Data?

I know of the issue with the 4.2 ROMs. You must perform some tricks, such as change CDMA subscription, etc.. but that's not working for me. Still stuck on Roaming
So instead, everyone says.. flash a 4.1 AOSP ROM, and then dirty flash into 4.2. OK, so that doesn't work either, and even checking the CDMA subscription for RIUI or whatever, I still get stuck on Roaming.
As soon as I wipe and restore my TouchWiz backup, I'm back to no problems.
What is my plan of action in order to get a working 4.2 AOSP ROM? I've tried Wiping, 4.1 -> 4.2, and no go.
Help? I'm usually great at hacking, flashing, etc.. I got a 4.2 ROM working once, but forgot to create a backup. Now I can't get one working again.

Tried several reboots in both 4.1, and 4.2 with clean flashes. Tried it also in the 4.1 -> 4.2 dirty flash..
The setting sticks after a reboot, but still in R mode.
Ok try this... install cm 10.1 with no g apps. This will take you straight past the activation screen. Nor only do you change subscription but also network to automatic. Then reboot. I believe it's network. Can't remember exactly but it's right above the other one. I'm not on a 4.2 ROM to see right now but I know this works for me.

I can get to the homescreen but the phone never activates to make or receive calls.
Try downloading again and reflash. I flashed the new cm and it worked fine.

I'm having the same issue. I've got data, but can't make phone calls.
I've tried using Odin to flash a stock rom and still have the same results.
What version of CM did you flash to get it working?
I was using the 10.1.0 from the cm website. They have the new 10.1.0.1 release up now and I have not used that. Everything worked. Just flashed back this morning because I like bonestock rom features

Yup
I went ahead and flashed CM 10.1.0.1 along with the MF1 firmware just a little bit ago and I was having a constant no SIM error. Couldn't get it fixed, wiped everything but the external SD and tired again, changed the LTE mode back, still no go. So I ultimately just flashed back to my backup of CleanROM and rolled back to the MB1 firmware for my cameras sake.
I'll just wait until some more of the bugs get ironed out. I really miss having stable AOSP on my Droid Incredible, I was on CM7 from its initial release till retirement and beyond.
It seems like its kind of a hit or miss type of deal. Some phones work just fine, others, not so much.

Same problem, its just the "stable releases" are jacked up. Flash a nightly and the baseband (and google apps) and you'll be fine.
Oh, and go into settings and change SIM mode from NV to SIM, then reboot. You'll be good to go.

APN problem is driving me crazy

I have been trying to help a friend out who has Net 10 and wants to buy my old Skyrocket for cheap. I ran the Net 10 sim card in the skyrocket with the stock samsung rom that you need to unlock the network lock for free. After verifying that it worked by making calls and recieving texts and data we then began to talk about upgrading to a newer Rom. Well after upgrading to Cyanogen 4.3.1 the problem first began, then it happened again with Cyanogen 4.2.2, and again with this Embryo Rom. I have done everything to the T and its just getting ridiculous that the APN will not save. No matter what I do, as soon as that APN is finished I click save and its gone. What do I do.. I am running the ATT JB Radio that the Cyanogen Mod threads recomend for the 4.3 rom to work. I have not flashed anything other than the recovery, radio, and roms. I am using CWM btw.
Anything?

This isn't a solution for your issue but it may (or may not) offer some insight.
my girlfriend has a glide and when I put cm on it the apns would randomly disappear. Same with pa. the phone came from stock gb. Flashed stock ics and haven't had a problem with it yet.

Apn settings

I just flashed the newest nightly of Omnirom and now I lost all my all settings... I'm not getting any signal whatsoever... I tried to enter the apn settings that I found in Google but whenever I tried to save it, it would be gone... I saved it then backed out and went back in that settings and it's still not there... I read online if u reboot ur phone it will appear but it's still not there... Idk if anybody else has experienced the same problem or similar but I need help... Thanks

Did you back up your last rom? If so, flash it back. Good luck.

Yes I did go back to my previous rom... I had my back up but the problem continued... I was able to fix it though... I had to repartition my SD card cuz for some reason I couldn't access anything on it... So I then flashed cm 11 rom and then I found the options for the apn networks... Afterwards what I did was flash my Omni rom again and the apn networks was still there... So if anyone has a problem apn try this... Thanks...
