Hey, the latest 48 hours my phone has done something really weird. At some times, when I'm doing something like eating, watching Tv, playing xbox or whatever, I put my phone on the table or in my pocket. But then, when I'm going to check what time it is on my phone, It'a totally black and is not responding to any button, touch or slap. So I pull out the battery and put it back in and then boot up the phone. I have no idea what it's doing but I can see one extreme battery drain at every "black screen freeze" in the battery history in the settings as shown in the picture. This have happened 4 times in 48 hours. Please help!

which rom are you on ? are you running a custom kernel ? you really need to elaborate and tell more about the problems you are facing ... i recommend a clean install of the rom ...if you are on stock rooted , flash stock via odin and see if this happens on stock without root ... i really do not think if root has got to do anything with this .. do a clean reflash of the rom and you might be back to normal ..
The phone does not go into deep sleep while the wifi is turned on ... I have the same problem

I have some new problems but don`t know where they come from.
I have flashed the newest Version of the energy rom and everything was fine. One day my phone falls down and the battery and the cover get lose and the phone gets off. I put the battery in and powered on the phone but the phone stop at the boot screen. I`ve tried serveral thing like Reset, Hard Reset and again took out the battery for some minutes but still it hangs in the boot screen. So I transfered the flash on the SDcard and flashed the rom again. Everything worked great till 2 days later. I was searching something in opera and opera was very slow. I closed opera and tried to open it again but the whole phone freezed. So I reseted it and the phone started boot and showed the Energy Wallpaper and a small white box in the lower left side what is only shown when the phone is started the first time. But the phone freezed again at this point. After reseting the phone again ist hanged again in the boot screen. I flashed the phone again and right now it works fine but I don``t wanna flash my phone every two days.
Is it a hardware failiure caused of the drop or is it a failure of the rom?
maybe post this in the rom thread?
maybe something inside the phone broke when it fell ? This random freezes shouldn't occur. I used Energy Rom 3 for about a week and didn't experience any freezes what so ever.
here's an ideea. Flash a stock rom and see if the problems still persist and if so, you should see your warranty and get your phone fixed.

you should flash a stock rom then switch bak to nrg and if that doesnt fix it then youll have to get a new phone sorry mate !

just have to wait 2 weeks for my new Vario IV from T-Mobile. So I have to work 2 weeks with this geek original Rom what is really ugly and slow.
same problem happening to me, except i have not dropped my phone.
should my phone crash whilst using it and i have to soft reset or pull out the battery then the rom will instantly reinstall itself and require me to align the screen again. sometimes i have to hard reset for it to do this.
I have problem flashing my HTC Fuze with the new ROM - I was using EnergyROM 2.0 but failed to flash to 3.0. I am however able to flash it back to the ATT ROM without problem.
Tried from USB flashing and from the microSD card - nothing works at this time???
Not sure what the issue are at this time.

Bad points-
have had it on for 30 mins and phone heats up,taskmanager in top right gone and phone freeze,using 89% ram standard , 98%after use,slide lock not working properly after power off, battery draining fast eg down 6% in 5mins,sometimes stert menu doesnt work.
Good Points-
manila is smooth as silk,everything is very responsive,quick,good programs built in,
one rom that could be the best but not for the htc diamond p3700
will read all the posts for problems for fixes

Best ROM ever tried.
Hi guys..about a month ago my phone start randomly reboot,i tried factory reset n change sdcard(someone suggest me too)still no luck..then i root my phone n flash custom roms but my problem not gone..weird things is its only reboot when its battery below 70% n its happened when its screen on(when i used it) n continuously until i plug in it to the charger..n to add my misery its never happen when i boot it into the recovery even when its battery below 70%...

This is due to a bad/unstable kernel. Try changing the kernel. If this doesn't help,
Take the battery out of the phone. Now find a smooth and plain surface and keep the battery on the surface, and rotate it (like a playing top or something), if the battery freely rotates, then there's a problem with your battery. Run to the shop, and buy a new one. That will definitely solve your problem

Since applying the 4.4.4 OTA update 2 weeks ago I've noticed a very noticeable downturn in my battery life.
My usage has remind the same or gone down along with my routine everyday. I could easily before go 36+ hours and still have ~20% charge left. Now I'm lucky if I go 12 hours before I get a low battery alert.
Anyone else in the same boat?

Im right there with you, i havent been able to fix it as of yet. Though i am in the process of flashing my phone back to stock 4.4.3 and trying to take the ota again to see if something might of gone wrong the first time around.
I'd try factory data reset if I were you ... It's not likely you had a bad flash.. usually a bad flash results in a failed flash.
Ive done factory resets. Ive tried different roms. But every 4.4.4 rom that isnt aosp just gives really crappy battery life. Ive been trying to get different kernels but the only one i could find was buckmarbles kernel and my phone would keep freezing then restarting after a few seconds after boot..... So yeah i gave up on getting a 4.4.4 sense or gpe rom working
weird. I haven't seen any change in battery life on my One m8.
I feel like my battery life has gotten worse as well, mainly idle life. I'll be down to 90% in three hours which I would normally still be at 95-96 depending on how busy work is. If I don't use my phone I would still be at 99-100% after those three hours. Idk what happened but it bugs me
I've been having the same kind of issues. Though while still being a student I can't use my phone too freely in class, but it still drains to roughly 75% after my 3 hours in the morning, straight off the charger. I limit it to playing music occasionally but otherwise it's just on and in my pocket.
Just saw an idea on another thread. Someone said that doing a factory reset on a custom recovery doesnt touch the radio, and that factory resets on a stock recovery does. It is definitely possible something wrong with the radio could affect battery life so im gonna try to factory reset after returning to stock revocery seeing as ive only ever done it with TWRP

Ive been trying various 4.4.4 based roms on my phone and been using trickster kernel mod to look through my cpu usage, and on every rom thats 4.4.4 based my cpu is constantly maxed...... and idea why this is happening, even on stock this happens and its really irritating me that i cant use any of the new roms that are coming out and im scared i wont be able to use the lollipop update when it comes out.

There's an app called SystemPanel that will show you what's using your cpu. If you look at the picture farthest to the left, you'll see a little vertical bar to the left of the app or process name. That bar will show you how much cpu the process is using. The more gray in the bar, the more usage. If nothing shows up as using all of your cpu, you probably have to go into the settings and set it to show system processes (it doesn't by default).
If you don't want to install that, there's a built in tool that may show you what you want to know. You have to enable developer options in settings. Then go to advanced, then enable the option that says "show cpu usage". If you do that, an overlay will appear on the screen . If there's one app or process at the top of the list most of the time, it's more than likely the culpit.
Try going into:
settings>
wifi>
advanced>
then uncheck scanning is always available
I noticed my battery life was cut nearly in half after upgrading to 4.4.4.
Now its not back to where it was before, but its around 90% of what it was before.

Well i finally fixed my issues. Turns out i had some bad media on my phone that was causing the media scanner to go out if wack.

What media are you talking about? Like in your SD card or internal storage?
My awesome HTCm8 has gone from being a ph with great battery to one that is down to 20% by end of day.
I did wipecache on recovery mode then finally did factory reset yesterday.
Still not much luck. Android system and Android OS and cell radio consume most battery. Before the update my battery usage would only show cell standby and WiFi and phone idle. Now it's a long list including Android system and Android OS. Before update I could go 2 days without charging.
Anything I can do? Do I need to factory reset again? I want my awesome phone back. Btw I was forced to update due to constant update notification which kept plumetting my battery by keeping the phone awake orelse would never update.

Did u pull the battery and boot that way, this happens to mine all the time, no clue why, its really pissing me off, i am rooted, not sure if u are,but this is gettin out of control, goes black and have to pull the battery to restart, the power button does nothing. Yes I'm rooted I remember that it was on 50% when it goes black and I successfully got it booted again I did not know how I think it was luck, then I flashed the current stock rom but it went down again and now I can't get it to boot again, it's totally dead
when it happens to me, i could be in the middle of doing something or even if the phone is just in standby, but the strange thing is that its still technically connected to my samsung gear fit, its not til i take the battery out that it disconnects from it and then after puttin battery back in the phone reboots. its just strange, im hoping maybe its battery related so i have a few new batteries coming this week to check if thats the problem. the battery is still stock and doesnt look like its bloated but that was a issue with other batteries ive had in other phones causing it to turn off. THis site didnt have much info on the issue but google searchin for black screen on android had alot of other options
Hi everyone !
I was making a call with WhatsApp(with the purnexus rom) and my battery was at about 60% and it suddenly turned off saying no battery left and when I tried to boot it it it just turned off again saying no more battery.
When I put it to charge I just texted and even though it was charging and the battery was at like 60% it turned off again..
It's been a week now and when I open an heavy app like fb, Snapchat... the phone turns off.
I tried to clean flash other rom, make a battery calibration and nothing helped. And now when the phone is charging, it often crashes no matter the rom.
Do you have anything that might help because I don't wanna buy another phone since this one cost me 230$.. and

It is 1.5 years old
This happened to me with an s4, sadly i had to change the battery and it worked ok for a few months before i trashed it.
I would recommend to send it to the service and let them figure the issue, because if you change the battery and ig wasn't the problem, you wasted money for nothing.
Why not try the stock ROM..

I moved to a custom rom because the phone used to turn off at 20% on stock and that kinda solved the issue until this happened..
I think the problem comes from the battery but since it is not under warranty I don't know how to solve this
