Android 4.4 KitKat for the HTC One SV (All Variants) - Discussion - HTC One SV

IT'S OFFICIAL!!!
HTC has just confirmed that the HTC One SV for Boost Mobile will indeed skip the Android 4.2.2 & Sense 5 update and go straight to android 4.4 KitKat and possibly Sense 5.5 by the end of March. According to HTC's new Software Updates page, the KitKat update is on the integration step. This is exiting new!!!:victory:

There should since its the exact same phone! But it all depends on your carrier and if they decide to give you the same update. Boost making it possible to update the One SV to KitKat, there now should be no excuse for other carriers with the One SV not to also update to KitKat. But only Boost Mobile right now makes sense because it was the only carrier that didn't update to 4.2.2 & Sense 5. So there's probably hope, just wait and see.

The second pic is a screenshot of HTC's software updates page on their website which lets people know what update their phone has or will have. It also has a diagram that shows the steps of a software update. htc.com/us/go/htc-software-updates

if they do not update for Euro users, the developers will do it

Roll back..
Awesome... Now I just need to roll back my boot image to stock so that it'll take... And I was just looking at buying another phone because I wanted KitKat! Saves me a lot of cash! Woot!
Though if anyone could point me to where I can get the stock boot image for our Boost HTC One SV phones, I'd appreciate it.

I just looked and their is only one source release for evo shift, making me assume that thhe source listed is for froyo... but, man do I hope I'm wrong... I really want to compile my first kernel for the shift. I did a few for the moment and intercept but I gotta hunch that it won't be as easy as those were... please tell me I'm wrong! Color me intrigued. Anyone taken the dive on this RUU yet? I know 2.3 is coming, but I haven't heard or read anything about an impending release or leaked release (not counting the test RUU that's floating around XDA).
-edit-
Ah, I'm guessing it is perhaps the same as this?

Okay, how many of these are duplicates? Here's another.

I copied the file from my download folder after the install to my RapidShare account for those who didn't want to wait for the OTA push from Sprint.
This ruu that Football posted is a much better base to develop from than any ota update.
This is the only actual ruu I've seen for this rom so far. Football always delivers good ****.

This is why I usually avoid threads that use multiple (unnecessary) punctuation.
It might be an idea to stop posting "I WANT MY ROMZ NAO!" threads, otherwise devs might not even bother.
Development doesn't happen overnight. I'm sure there are devs working on them as we speak.
Be patient!

He said he didn't want to make a thread for this. I'd remove the download link and say it's on his twitter.
Either way, I couldn't get this upload to work either. Any idea why that is? md5 matched, would reboot once it got to the lockscreen. I wiped everything(system, dalvik, cache, and data) in 4ext and it still didn't work.

Others will be able to give you a more specific explanation, but it's a result of not having source for kernel, which HTC doesn't have to release until 90 days after official ICS release

Technically, they have to release source immediately after the OTA goes out, but their lawyers are good enough that it isn't really worth fighting(and we don't really have a right to complain, source isn't needed for the average user). The Linux kernel is under the GPL v2, you are free to read it, and in that document there is nothing documenting a 90 day waiting period. Honestly, HTC is just lazy and will do their own thing. I'd just be happy that they give us source at all. Eventually somebody will fix the camera(possibly before source drops), but it isn't a huge priority(especially since this rom doesn't even load past the lockscreen), and if you really need it that badly, you can dual boot an ICS rom with a gingerbread rom that has a working camera.
