[Q] Motorola Xoom Backplate

Hey all, I was just wondering is it possible to buy a coloured backplate for my Xoom? I find the standard one quite boring and would like to change it!

You can buy skins not sure about backplates, but their easy enough to paint

What sort of preperations would i need to make to the back plate to paint?

Sand, wetsand, prime sand some more then paint and primer, have a google for exact prep been. A while since i sprayed metal lol good luck

Actually if anyone knows how to find a new backplate I would really appreciate it, I bought my Xoom second hand and the backplate was damaged, I would really like to make it look like new!

Thanks a lot for your answer but I was hoping for something a little bit easier to do I don't have any experience doing it and I don't feel like trying on my beloved Xoom

I've only seen white, now that you mention it. That includes the EU one.

Just purchased one from AT&T. Will post pics and a review when it comes in (hopefully soon!)

But what you are you gonna do, eh? None of the third party docks I've seen look half as sharp and easy to use as this.

How do the metal contacts touch through the case?

Awesome! I've been waiting for this! Need to find a way to be able to wall mount it and I'll be good to go. Might have to drill tiny holes through my case to get it to work without taking the case off, but it shouldn't be too hard. I'll wait to read a review about it, but I definitely want this one.

The oem cases doesn't cover the contacts.

as much as i'd love to have this, if I'm spending that much on an accessory for this phone, i'd probably go with the media link.

yea the non-wireless ones are out everywhere.......however, the wireless ones are hard to find, if they are even out yet....

Keep in mind that those increase the thickness which may cause an issue with water resistance because of the bulge it causes. Even if it is minimal

The rule is simple - you get what you pay for.

The page linked to in OP states you need to remove from case, so yes, it will not fit phones in a case.
Another thing to take into account is the charging port cover flap. Only way you would really be able to use that dock is if you cut off the charging port cover, or follow my post here.

I bought two dot view cases for my and my wife's note 4. As you know case works with software which comes with case. But i have a problem. This software works well on my wife's ktkat device bu not on my lollipop
Anyone have this case and try it on lollipop?

I saw that too. Search ebay for Dot View Case and you'll find the same case sold by sellers who don't offer such bull**** shipping prices.

It works with lollipop

I suggest not to buy the case. First it works with the proximity sensor not the magnetic one. So anytime you reach for top of the screen there is a chance that proximity sensor triggers lock screen.
Second, software design is so bad. It doesn't generate good looking effect like HTC cases. Actually it is hard to guess what's displaying in the screen you just should guess. I bought one and Jay use it for a day.

It worths to try for 5$. If you don't like, you uninstall software and use case as usual.

I just picked one up. I am afraid to install the software because its some server based in China. The software should be similar to all, no? ¹
The one that I have is very similar to the ones linked here. The only difference is that the HOME key is oval vs rectangular. There is also a circle to the left of the home key when the case is closed. I do not know if that is a magnet or if that is simply there for design.

I didn't know that case was a thing, haha. I have the official LED case and it runs fine lollipop. Try this. Make sure "led indicator" or whatever they call it is on in display and then reboot. I was having certain things not show up and now asides from the fact that weather has never worked on my locks creep I'm golden.

Guys I bought this case, working decent enough, but I expected more. Cost me 10 bucks, lollipop 910t user here
