Custom Kernel runs on Stock Android 4.3? - HTC Butterfly

I've been looking for source of kernels which runs on Japanese version of butterfly, HTL21. I found a compiled kernel for HTL21 built by Chinese user named qc26, but without its source.
http://pan.baidu.com/wap/share/home?uk=3375008777&third=0
kairi's kernels for x920d have 4.3 version, but looks like source code on github is 4.2 version only.
So I tried to build kernel based on HTC One GPE by myself. It boots, but after flashing this kernel, android.process.media kept crashing.
If you know where the source of kernel is, please tell me. Thanks in advance.

My kernel finally booted, but wifi and camera doesn't work. I tried everything I came up with, and still no success.
I give up, I just wait for kairi's test kernel.

kairi's kernel working fine except vibration.
I appreciate kairi's hard work

[Q] P5113 Custom Kernel Compilation

I can't seem to get my stock AOSP build working with a standard kernel compiled from the Samsung source (I haven't made any modifications). My AOSP ROM boots and works properly if I use the kernel extracted from the stock device boot.img, but if I try to use the kernel that I compiled, the device doesn't even boot properly and just goes into an infinite boot loop.
I've tried compiling with the Code Sourcery toolchain recommeded in the Samsung Kernel README, as well as with the arm-eabi-4.4.3 tootchain, but both yield the same result. Is there something I'm missing? Has anybody else gotten the stock Samsung kernel working with their ROM?
Samsung historically has never released workable kernel source.

Yeah, that's what I'm starting to hear. Are there any good resources or articles that give some pointers on debugging for kernel development?

I wish I knew, because I wouldn't mind getting into development either.

I started working on this last night and had the same experience. I'll keep plugging away at it and post back what I find.
I would love a custom kernel for this thing. This thing could be so much better. A custom kernel and more ROMs would complete me.

[Q] does ElementalX kernel support CM10.1?

I was just wondering whether ElementalX kernel support CM10.1?
Is there another kernel that is better for CM10.1?

Yeah , and it even says so on the first line of the OP.
I think rohan made kernel that will work, just search and you will find

Correct. In Rohan's kernel thread a few pages back from the last page there is a test kernel that is compatible with CM10.1
Vanja's linaro kernel is also compatible.
Both can be found in the Original Android Development section.

Try jac0b.b2 kernel, I'm running, my only problem is some random reboots but can be problems of ROM.
Yea the jac0b.b2 kernel is good in using it with jelly am v7.5

Can't boot custom kernels

I'm flashing roms for a very long time, but I ran into a problem, I can not understand:
I have unlocked my bootloader.
Flashed TWRP
Formatted all the partitions in TWRP.
I have flashed AOKP nightly 02/01/2014 but whenever I trie to flash a custom kernel (tried bricked and Franco) my phone won't boot. It's stuck at the Google logo.
How come?

Make sure all the partitions are the correct size as well as make sure the Kernel supports the ROM. If you read the individual kernel threads and do a search, the information should be available. Its been discussed that many ROMs have switched some code in the nightlies to not being supported by some kernels while others work (such as Chaos kernel working on CM ROM while Franco kernel works stock). Depends on your preference then once you find which are supported and which are not. There is also a thread (I believe in Original Development or the other development thread) that bridges the kernel support of some to work on the newer CM based nightlies based on the CAF/nonCAF system codes that are being worked on.

Because you flashed a kernel that is not compatible with the rom. Re-flash the rom and then find a kernel that is compatible with AOKP.
I was coming from the nexus 4 running AOKP and they have had a poll about caf or non-caf. They decided non-caf, that's why I thought Franco kernel should work (worked on nexus 4).
But I see I have to do some searching.
I thought the decision was already made by the AOKP to use aosp kernel.

sorry, I don't know. I'm using the 4.0 stock rom and it runs well with that kernel.
battery dies a little faster than the CM 11 rom.
Instead of requesting things, you could get them done.
You have kernel compiling tutorials.
You (I assume), have a machine capable of running Linux.
You have an internet connection (evidently), so, you have access to kernel sources.
You have the commits for S2W here: https://github.com/cybojenix/android_kernel_htc_pico/commits/master
Then, why don't you make yourself a stock kernel with S2W, if you really want it?
Note: You here, refers to all those who want a stock kernel with S2W, but randomly turn up on this thread hoping someone else will do it. The fact is, no one will. You have to help yourselves.
Respects and regards,
<the person who doesn't care>.
P.S. Now that I've typed all this crap (which will (hopefully) guide you in the right direction), lemme give you some more info.
the himax8526a was never updated (i don't see a reason for it to be), except for once, by derefas to fix touch screen in sense 4.0, here: https://github.com/cybojenix/android_kernel_htc_pico/commit/45392ad98882a4c6f492dd17dc2579689d8053c4
so, s2w in stock kernel should be as easy as applying patches and building.
If you are too "lazy" to do that, the problem is with you. Not the community.

Thunderzap kernel-Rom

Hello guys, I got the xperia l c2105 with 15.3.A.14 firmware and with stock rom and kernel and i havent rooted yet (i need some help here too). I just unlocked bootloader (at least this time i didnt have bootloops and stuff like that). I would like you to show me a tutorial about how to flash thunderzap kernel via flashtool (please a detailed one) and i want you to recommend me one of those 2 roms: CM11 or 4.4 kitkat AOSP. Thanks in advance!

This guide to install kernels
But you can't flash thunderzap with cm11 because it's not based of caf yet
So..you can use phantom kernel with any kitkat rom
