Have you charged it fully before you started messing with it? I think the Tablets only come with a partial charge out of the box.

Lol yea...I mean I build roms for the note 3 and galaxy mega and will be building a rom for the pro so I'm pretty familiar with the basics...this is a source or lower system level issue...so I was wondering how widespread it is

Did you turn on S-Voice? My tablet went nuts when I turned on S-Voice for the first time the other day.

it's got some other issues like the keyboard won't work at times and overheating badly...I think It's gonna need to go back unfortunately...first few boots sure you know just setting it up and breaking it in...but this has been at least 25 reboots...I have the snapdragon note 3 and have had it since day 1 without issue...maybe that's the route I should go for the tab as well?
Mega
Edit: after several mods to the system I finally got the note to stop shutting down, at least for the time being...could you guys with experience on the octa give me some feedback...have you had any issues? Overheat? Do you ever wish you would've gotten the snapdragon s800?
No issues at all on my 32gb wifi. Just watched a 1080p (yify) movie in multi window while surfing the Internet without issue; not that I would have expected any since this isn't pushing it. Playing games that are graphically intensive will heat it up but I've never had any random reboots or issues.
I'm currently rooted and have some things frozen to reduce a little bloat.

Awesome...no I'm sure the exynos is hella powerful...I just have no experience with the new exynos 5 series...I've only built for snapdragon based devices galaxy note 3 and mega 6.3 since last gen a note 2 and note 8 with the exynos 4412...and really love the tab and performance other than the few strange things going on I fixed after getting all set up and rooted. Bummer there's no recovery yet...when it comes I'll post a rom for the note pro. Thanks alot for the info

That's what they said about KitKat, yet it introduced the Android OS, Android Kernel and Mediaserver battery drains... And the new SD permissions that is a nightmare for anyone without Root.... And a bootloader that made it impossible to roll back.
That's what they said about the S3 update last year that caused te device to freeze over 50 times a day (the SDSfix caused it).
That's what they said about several updates that were recalled because of fatal errors...
So pardon our reluctance to trust in that principle.

Strange: I've NO battery-drains at all, even with Gear 2 connected and 25 notifications active! My battery-usage is between 0,5-1,5%/hr!
SD-permissions is NOT the fault of Samsung: you'll have to blame Google about that!
Developers of apps were in-time informed about this change, but if they don't update their apps!

That wasn't the point. They were introduced with the updates, regardless of who caused them.
I don't have the drain issues either, but there are more than enough people here who do to warrant it an issue. Idle mine drains 1% in 10 hours. (Also, what is the point of 25 notifications? You can't see past 8 without scrolling a massive way down... And they don't fit in the small bar, either... )
I know it was Google's doing. I have about 35 posts telling people exactly that. I never said it was Samsung's fault.
Most app devs are simply too lazy. (Particularly the ones in this country.. Have you seen the RTLnieuws app? Good grief... And the Skyradio app is a direct iOS port that can't even run in the background..) Take OfficeSuite. one of the largest, most popular and most expensive Office apps... And still no updates permission. They're blatantly ignoring it!
Does anyone know if this app works on the Z5 using Marshmallow?? Please confirm.
Thanks!

Joseph,
Thank you for offering. That's fine, as I do not plan to root the Xperia X Performance when I buy it this summer either.
I have a similar thread going for the X Performance, and a guy in that thread already verified that it DOES work on the Z5 running Marshmallow! I'd already tried this app before on my Z3 (I now have the S7, but don't want to keep it, so waiting for X Performance to come out this summer so I can switch my S7 for that). It worked perfectly, but it doesn't work on my S7. But the guy in the other thread CONFIRMED it DOES work on the Z5 with Marshmallow too!
I would highly recommend Joseph that you skim through that thread, and then do yourself the favor of buying the full version of 360. You won't regret it. (But understand this app does not seem to work on Samsung phones for whatever reason. Not sure on others. Just know it does for Sony Xperia.)
Let me know if you do, how it goes, how you like it, and if ANY issues arise from having 360 on your phone.

No problem. Just remember to enable EVERYTHING in 360, get the full paid version, leave phone on but screen off (and NOT plugged in) overnight, and take note of what percentage the battery is at RIGHT before you go to bed, as well as first thing in the morning. See that thread for any other questions, and if not listed there, ask me here.

It's not really called "Doze Mode". That's a Marshmallow thing. It's just the 360 app doin' its thing. lol

I agree. I'm COUNTING THE DAYS until X Perf is released. I hate that it's not 'til like June though. Wish it was May or even April. Don't know why Sony put it off so long? The Z5 came out like last Fall. April would be at least 5-6 months since the Z5's release, so that's when it should be coming out, not Summer. Sony needs to just release ONE phone a year and make it in the Spring cuz Spring is an awesome time to buy a new phone. Weather's getting warmer, women are wearin' less clothes, more fun outdoor stuff starts happening, etc! lol

360's CPU Hibernation Lock didn't need a root, so maybe we're thinking about something different?
So I tried the Hibernation Manager app last night on my S7. It unfortunately had no impact at all on the battery life (6 hours of sleep). It went down about 3-4%, which is the same it does without any "power saver" help. I will stop by my parents today and try putting it on their phone (Xperia Z1s). Then tomorrow I'll have them check and see if it did anything and get back to you. Hopefully it works on Sony Xperia phones at least.
Unfortunately, 360 Hibernation Master apparently DOES NOT work on the Xperia X series. I have no idea why. Sucks. Tried on my brand new int'l dual-SIM X Performance, and it didn't seem to do anything.
I tried out a couple other apps that were similar but they didn't seem to work either. So I guess for the time being anyway 360 is only for the Xperia Z series phones. FYI
However, Stamina Mode DOES seem to have been properly fixed, so you can still use that.
Note: Just remember that if you use the Visual Voicemail app that after turning off SM you will need to go into VV's settings and re-enable VV cuz it doesn't seem to do it automatically.

Very disappointed
I completed the update over the weekend to MM and so far I'm very disappointed. Before the update I consistently getting 35-40 hours of battery time, now I'm lucky to get 18-20. I haven't changed my usage or download any new apps so...
OK so a quick update, after a few days now I've been disabling Wi-Fi (which I didn't have to with lollipop), and that has improved battery life.
I'm still concerned that Wi-Fi is the top battery consumer even when disabled for most of the day.
I guess you disabled the always Wi-Fi scanning feature, hidden somewhere I could not find in the beginning myself.
That setting is now listed under the location settings for some stupid reason. Also my Wi-Fi has been crap lately on marshmallow. It drops out at random times.

Just a heads up. My battery life tanked after the update regardless of what I did. What fixed it was recharging a couple times. For some reason that worked.

No, it's really crazy that the $300 version of the Gear S2 still does not have automatic sleep tracking. I wish I could just flash it to the generic Samsung 3g firmware and be done with T-Mobile, but it doesn't seem to be a possibility (I started a thread here, but no responses so far: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gear-s2/general/gear-s2-3g-t-mobile-version-flash-to-t3518844 ).
I'd also complain to T-Mobile directly, maybe if enough of us complain, they'll do something about it.

Hi rogerperk,
I have same Gear S2 732 in same firmware as you (in France), and for me too, battery drain is present
Sure, not as much as you, but now, I've got a "low battery alert 15%" at 23h00 when, before, I get to bed at 00h30 with 35-40% battery left ! For sure, there is something that change (same watchface as before) !
Sadly, 2 charging (and even more than 10 actually) dont change anything for me
Best regards
Not good. I recharged mine a couple times and did a factory reset and that seemed to do it. I'm actually getting far better battery life now. Over 24 hours and I'm only at 77%! I hope that keeps up! I cut out alot of stuff I don't use like NFC and constant wifi and heartrate checks. That sort of stuff.

At least T Mobile has released the update. Verizon never released the first value pack update nor have they released the newest update. Anyone know what is wrong with Big Red?
