The buttons can rattle a bit. It's normal for this device and won't cause any problems. The nexus 4's buttons were worse.

No, its normal for N5. Its just something that the phone has and depends on if it bothers you or not. Its something experienced by many N5 users.

Yes, the power button is one rattles for me as well. Nothing to be concerned over unless it personally bothers you. I have one from first batch and that's a minor issue I experience.
Yeah, I wouldn't really recommend sending the device back as you are extremely likely to just get another one with the same rattle. It's very common.

I think quite a lot users have it, but i don`t consider it a default and it doesn`t bother me realy. You have to realy have to force it to hear it. Got a Spigen Neo Hybrid case for protection and its gone now.

+1 for Spigen Neo Hybrid case. I ended up taking mine off after a day because I just don't like cases... but that is a very nice case. Highly recommend it if that's your thing.

The Spigen Neo Hybrid case is very good quality, small profile, protects against moderate drops (personal experience), and resolves the issue very well (very good feel to it). But, the case is very snug and back is more slick to touch then some other cases. Best case though so far IMHO. Depends on your preferences in all. Most cases will resolve the button rattle because of snug fit around the phone, thus stabilizing.
Had the exact same issue on my first N5. Talked to Google and returned it. New one is perfect.

Hello NS Owners,
Does your NS squeek when you apply slight pressure on the plastic at the side of the volume rocker?
Mine does and it annoys mei! For €470 it should be a solid build. I'm just wondering if I got a bad one or are they all like this. I don't really want to stuff it with paper!
Thanks
Nope. I've had two, neither squeeked.

Look man, this is what you get with Samsung. You cant expect a solid build when 95% of their hardware is plastic. HTC or Apple on the other hand, they reason why their phones have such good build quality is because they're made out of solid metal (typically aluminum) and glass. Yeah, my volume buttons are wiggly and squeaky if i push them against the plastic bezel too. I have learned to live with it. It's just how Samsung works.
Thanks
Okay thank you both for your input. I think I will contact Samsung. Even if they won't do anything for me, at least they might take note of the complaint.

Better than nothing for sure, but all in all, I hope they don't make the next Nexus phone... :/
Mines doesn't squeak. I think it probably would eventually if you keep removing the battery cover. I try not to remove mines.
I honestly do not have a problem with the plastic build because its light and I love to lay down in bed holding my phone over my face. My old myTouch 4g had superb build quality, but was just too heavy to hold for long periods.

HTC? Have you every touched a HD2? Or seen the screen coming apart on an EVO? HTC is no curve setter, and i personally would put them in the same class as samsung, other than the newest phones coming out recently.

Funny, I've owned 2, and they both of them had buttons that squeaked/rattled. But like another user said, I put a case on them, and it doesn't squeak any more - the case puts just enough tension on them to keep them from rattling in place.

I'm very happy that you have so much money. If ever you feel the need to make your pockets a bit lighter then I'll gladly help you out.
And to everyone else:
It's not the buttons that squeak. It's where the back cover "touches" the buttons. It's almost like the back cover isn't clipping on properly so it moves a little bit and then it squeaks. I've tried using a silicon cover but that had no effect... I wish that they used the Samsung Wave design for the Nexus S. That phone was solid as a rock.

Just received mine in the mail so........Mini review!
Aesthetics:
Its a pretty simple case, not too flashy. The whole case is made of TPU, the back part is matte and while smooth doesn't appear to be too slippery, while the bumper portion fully surrounds the sides of the phone, is fully transparent and has a nice rubbery grippy feel. The nexus 4 back design is not really visible through the back of the case. However, the nexus logo itself can be seen albeit slightly muted. While it does add a little bulk to the phone, its pretty minimal while providing decent protection for day to day use.
Function:
There are appropriate cut-outs for both the and bottom mics, the speaker, the camera and the charging port. The volume and power buttons have these built in pushable sections which protrude slightly outside the case and allow you to press the buttons down. I found that the power button sometimes took a little bit of effort to press, however the volume buttons are perfectly fine. I don't have access to a wireless charger so I can't comment on whether that works or not, but it detects NFC tags just fine.
Protection:
For the front , the added lip should mean that placing your phone face-down will elevate it slightly and provide some protection. The bumper portion provides as good protection as any TPU case around the sides of the phone. The back is also fully covered so this should protect from scratches and minor bumps although I'm not sure how good the drop protection will be (this is obviously not a super heavy duty case).
Pictures:
I don't have a camera at the moment but I'll see what I can do. Pictures added. Apologies for the shoddy camera work, using my roommate's Nexus S.
Still no sign by the looks of it
Perhaps one of these? The description says 0.5mm though.

Okay review but I disagree on the button feedback comment.
I've had my case for about a week or so.. Just took it off today and it is so much easier to press the power button and volume rocker.
They could have made that part way better, other than that I love this case.

Of course not having a case will def feel better. And thats why I said it sometimes feel like there is nothing there...but it seems that it got taken the wrong way..when I say nothing there , I meant like it feels like you are not pressing nothing at all which is not good . sorry for the misunderstanding .
Totally agreed with the fact that maybe for the buttons they could ve use less material making it feel more natural

Received mine a few days ago. The button feedback is normal as well. Maybe this is the 'fixed' one as well. Anyway, great case, snug fit. The only thing that is, have to remove it every now and then to remove dust that visible in between clear plastic and N4 back glass. A bit annoyed to see those specks of dust... Nothing major
Also can confirm the buttons on this case are perfect now . received mine yesterday.
where can this case be ordered in the uk ?

I got mine from Amazon a few days ago and mine is fixed. Button feedback is great.

nop at all! the only "down" is the back, since its acrylic, time to time accumulates some dust.
Got this case a few days back and it's excellent. Button feedback is better than without the case - indeed, the power button now works 100% for me while I was having trouble with it before. Fits like a glove, the cut outs are perfect, especially the mini jack - I can fit most headphones in it now.
In my opinion this is the best case I could buy. It makes the device feel a bit bigger and thicker, but I have more grip when I hold it, and feel absolutely protected. It fell a few times and got no damage whatsoever. The back got a bit scratched, but it's ok, it's two years old!
A nice touch is the tiny feet on the back, so when you put it on a table, you can perfectly hear the speaker.
Definitely a very good case.
Hi all
So I will be in receipt of my Note 4 next week and whilst this may be an odd thing to ask, I was wondering if anyone makes (or can make) a nicer back cover for these? I'm thinking something metal though I understand that may be a bit of a push (carbon maybe?! I'll be happy to pay for a one off!)
I ask because I remember how flimsy the back cover on my old Galaxy S3 was plus I'm not digging the "Faux Leather" thing!
Any Ideas or am I dreaming?!
Thanks

Don't think so.
I'd settle for the front firing speaker support
My cover doesn't fit properly out of the box yesterday, so I'm interested in getting a decent replacement too.
So it seems someone else thought the same as me!
It says it may interfere with NFC but seeing as I don't use it this is not an issue for me.

Those Element Cases are incredibly hot (not to mention completely reasonably priced)! No idea how I've never heard of them before... Might I suggest that those who agree start contacting them and "requesting" (demanding ) that they make a Note 4 case?

Anyone have issues applying the thin fit case after with a dbrand skin on. It does not seem to fit well. Secondly, I find the thin fit case is extremely hard to remove. Is it just me, or is this how the case is supposed to be?
They revised the fit so it's not as super tight. I have one and it works perfectly with a dbrand. You can check my case review OP because I posted pictures of the fit with my dbrand skin in there.

Yea I think mine was too tight. It was so tight upon removing the case, something weird happened. My volume down rocker now takes more force to push than before

It sounds like the case is sitting lower/higher than if should be depending on which part of the rocker its touching. It could be due to the initial overly tight fit of the case along with the skin. The newer version I have isn't loose at all, and fits fine with a skin. I used it the other day and it felt fine buttons and all. Spigen cases generally have very low tolerances so they got better, but this can occasionally cause an issue for some people.

You could RMA it if it's that bad. Unfortunately if you can't get it to click then there isn't a whole lot that can be done. Have you tried physically moving the rocker from the bottom/top up/down (not the way it clicks) to see it that helps
