Nexus S hard bricked

I think i just achieved the impossible, hard bricking the nexus S.
I was having the google logo stuck problem after i tried to root it in CWR... so I used odin to reflash rom, and apparently flashed with the wrong rom (i have i9020 but flashed a 9023 rom)
Now my phone doesn't even turn on, i can't get it to download mode no matter what, can't get into CWR anymore.. fastboot doesnt work because usb doesnt even get recognized.
the only "life" i have from my phone is that the battery gets warmed when i plug the usb in.
I am not aware that there is a USB JIG for nexus s...
does anyone have any insight?
All I gotta say is you shouldn't of used odin. Are you able to get into recovery? Fastboot not recognizing your usb can be due to drivers.
Sent from my Nexus S using Tapatalk
can't get into recovery (if you mean volume up + power), i used to be able to, but after the flash I can't anymore.
Fastboot is via cmd? Can't do because USB is not being tiggered.
It's totally unresponsive.

Volume up + power doesn't go into recovery. It goes into fastboot. When you go there, you can press volume down until you reach recovery.

The reason I used odin was because I came from Vibrant and odin worked great. I shouldve done more research I know..

I came from vibrant too. Before that I used the g1. Non samsung phones primarily use fastboot.
What happens when your phone is completely off. Then hold volume up and power at the same time?

It doesn't, not even a "?" or "!" in device manager, it used to recognize properly thats why I was able to install CWR. after the "hard brick" my computer doesnt even make the sound when plug in the phone.

He already said that it doesn't even recognize.
Are you all guys really sure that you read the first post first? Or just read the title and replying?
I just notice even when USB is not plugged in the phone is still warm (with black screen and everything)... so I am not sure anymore.. the mystery continues.
I am pretty sure I flashed this

And yeah. That was a 9023 rom. Go back and see if you can get it exchanged. Just say it randomly shut off and wouldn't turn back on.
But this is totally on you because the op in that thread said not to flash it on 9020

[Q] Nexus 5 unable to go into recovery mode

Hi,
I got a Nexus 5 about 40 days back. The phone randomly switched off a few times. I performed a factory reset as suggested by the Google Support team and other forum posts here. Yesterday, the phone switched off. On going into the bootloader, I am able to view the different options. On selecting recovery mode, it just goes to a blank screen.
The phone is not rooted.
Please help me out.

Thanks for helping me out,
I did the steps as mentioned in the guide, but ran into a problem while unlocking the bootloader.
After entering the command, "fastboot oem unlock" the bootloader gets unlocked.
But on entering the next command, "fastboot reboot" it goes back to unlocked state.
How do I proceed?
thanks again
you said it went from unlocked to unlocked? did you mean goes back to locked?

If you're not able to go past the Google screen, Switch off the phone and then Press and Hold down the Power Button+vol down button till you feel a vibrate.. The bootloader will open... Use the volume buttons and navigate to Recovery and and then press the power button to go into the recovery... You can perform a factory reset from there...
But, if you aren't able to access the recovery and as you are fully stock, there isn't much you can do about it...
You could try unlocking the bootloader and then performing a factory flash but since it's fully stock you can RMA it...

Since you are on 100% stock, I think your emmc (flashchip) got faulty like in many other nexus 5 bootloop topic around in xda.
But you can try to reflash the factory images again. Read the first 3-4 sticky thread in the general forum.

Do what Mr Stunts says. If it's new and that doesn't work, and it should, take it back. You shouldn't need to be unlocking this and that just to get a new phone up and running.

[HELP] Maybe a hardware defect. Phone keeps rebooting, evrything even fastboot

Hello,
I had latest PA, Uber kenel and Multirom installed. Suddenly my phone reboots and keeps to reboot. Only MultiRom is accessible for a greater amount of time. But reboots to, as well as fastboot and recovery does not even start.
Can someone please help me? :/ I would really appreciate an answer.

Bootloop after flashing TWRP

I wanted to install a custom Rom on my Nexus 5 running Android 6.0 so I downloaded TWRP latest and unlocked the Bootloader and installed TWRP.
Now the OS doesn't boot up anymore and the TWRP starts but gets rebooted all the time, and TWRP does not seem to be able to mount anything. When it reboots it looks like it automatically goes to the TWRP where it says it is running OpenRecoveryScript but it is unable to mount anything. I tried a boot start to Recovery and it worked but when I tried a factory reset it says the same thing.
I'm worried my phone will die and have further issues, I need help as soon as possible.

It could be, indeed that was my first thought as time ago it used to happen. But I've been trying as a maniac the not less maniac solution of hitting it softly and spasmodically as it turns on, but no success. Such solution it used to work, now it does not.
Currently, desperation makes me think of desperate (probably fool) solutions like unplug the battery to see if that so called "cache" wipes My lovely hammerhead currently open .....but does not look better

Ok, it looks like a f******* and annoying incredible coincidence, right after the flash, the power button arises !! BUT my last test looks like that's the problem :: While rebooting forever, I just keep the VolumeDOWN button pressed and it tries to enter the fast boot menu, as it the power certainly already pressed.
Now that I have the hammerhead open, I'll google to seek how to consistently fix that annoying problem.

Hammerhead sticky power button SOLVED
Thanks a lot for your answer. I managed my self thru it yesterday, using mainly these 2 YouTube videos

(Sorry for the partial link; not allowed to post external urls)
Which basically explain about opening the Nexus 5 Hammerhead, get right to the damn sticky power button, clean it right and manipulate it a little bit with a lady tweezers in order to "unstick" it.
I've already mange thru these nearly 3 years to keep my great hammerhead alive ! Replacing its flex cable, battery, now manipulating the sticky button ....I do not know how much life is left for it but GOD SAVE THE HAMMERHEAD !
Thanks to you all
