this is my first attempt in rooting my sprint gs3 using the step by step on xda.. after doing so i realized i had knox and now my superuser is blocked and dont really know if i rooted properly.. my phone seems to be working but im not sure what to do from here. i tried hardbooting my phone to start over with some other way to root but i don't want to brick my phone can anyone help me and expain thing like a 3 yr old cause like i said i read and did and failed.

Hey guys i have just sent in my htc hero for repair and won't be back for a whlie and im sure most of you know how slow and sluggish the hero is stock. Im dying to have a faster phone, so what do you guys think i should do? root the loaner phone? can i unroot easily? If so can you provide me with directions on how to do this?
Personally, I would leave it alone. You don't want any issues with the phone not being returned in the same condition you got it in.
That being said, if you must have root on a temporary device, try using z4root, and use the Temporary Root option.

As the title says, I have the Samsung Galaxy SII Sprint's variation. I rooted my phone when it was on the version before Gingerbread EL29. I used the SuperOneClick method to root my phone and after doing that, 'Superuser' was installed on my phone. Everything was going fine until I accidentally updated my phone to Gingerbread 2.3.6 EL29 via Sprint's over-the-air update. I know it sounds dumb from me but I really knew that if I updated my phone I could mess up my root privileges, but that pop up update was showing up each 5 minutes, that in one of them I accidentally pressed 'install'. Now I have tried to unroot my phone with SuperOneClick but 'Superuser' is still there and when I access an app that requires root privileges like 'Wireless Tether' it says that my phone is not rooted. I also tried to do a factory reset and root again with 'SuperOneClick' but it freezes up (I guess it's because 'Superuser' is still there?) I was also thinking on installing a rooted rom but I don't know if I can install custom roms (I don't know if I have CWM and if it will mess up because I'm not rooted?..) Right now I just want to get the latest rooted stable release possible.. Sorry for extending myself but I wanted to give all the important details as possible as I am new in handling root phones and also in this forum. I will appreciate any help, thanks!

My husband has been trying all day to root my Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 plus, using the software provided here in the forums. I have superuser, clockwork, and nothing works. I installed a root checker and as I suspected, my rooting attempts have all failed. My husband has tried just about every single root link on the forums. We're really new to the rooting world, in fact we have never rooted anything before this, so it's all new to us. I'm sick and tired of the bloatware on my tablet, and tired of having an SD card that I can't use the way I want.
I already had ICS on the device before trying to root, so I don't know if that is why the root is not working properly. Any advice would be fantastic! I'd rather not try to do this alone and brick a $400 tablet. We followed every single step on these forums to root, and it seems like it's a bit more technical than what xda makes it out to be. I'm not looking to use ROMS or whatever...just looking to get rid of bloatware and be able to put my app's on my SD card.

I have an HTC one 32 GB from at&t and love it,but want more out of it,however I have never rooted a phone I have only jailbroke my iPod and know that rooting is a lot more dangerous and don't know if I should risk it
Install Farmaroot - it should be the easiest way.
HTC One S is supported.
It is safe If you do everything correctly Do a lot of research and read how to do it before trying ! don't just jump into it !
But remember to root your phone you need to unlock your bootloader which voids your warranty ! and if you unlock your bootloader using HTCDev It's impossible to get your warranty back ! even if you relock the bootloader
so just make up your mind ! if i were you i would do it !
Depends on what you mean by getting more out of it, if you want to try out different roms then yeah, you'll definitely have to root it.
It's a lot more complicated with rooting versus jailbreaking however I'm sure you've got the technical know how, and as backbone said, just do your research and if you get lost/confused along the way, just ask on the forums.

just make sure you see how to root the phone befor you try it
Do you want to uninstall stock apps? or run apps which need root permissions? do you want to change to an alternative rom?, ... then root the phone if not there is no need to root it

I would assume anyone considering rooting requires root for something they wanna do.
As long as you're safe and smart about it, I really see no reason not to. You don't lockdown your pc if you don't mess around in the system
I don't see a reaseon why would you root your htc one coz the phone works pretty good(optimization is great).
In other hand if you want to do developing or smth like that i would tell you to go for it.

hello, I wanted to ask something to the person who be root. I read a lot of thread and coments on youtube´s videos about a lot of people, and i read 6 or seven persons/users that root there phone a time ago and one day wake up ( Example) and theres phone has soft bricked and they has to re flash the stock version via odin again.
I wanted to bee rot but I fear that tomorrow (example) I will wake up and i have to re flash the rom and i lose everything on my phone storage.
Can someone give me your opinion ? and wich method use for flash supersu ?

First of all why did you open up 2 topics that are the same? And if you search for root on this forum you will see lots of topics so do some research and stop acting like a kid.

If you root correctly and don't mess with things that go outside of your knowledge, you should probably have little less chance of waking up with a bricked phone.
Things start to go bad when you touch things you shouldn't touch.

Recently i rooted my phone, 5 day after i bought it. Installed TWRP and Xposed.
One and a half day after,without any reason, the phone started to bootloop. Without thinking, i sent the phone for warranty. 40 days later the same phone came back from Samsung, they repaired the phone without charging anything, as i am in a country that Samsung has to repair it even with knox tripped.
I asked here at XDA if it was root that bricked the phone and the response was that most probably it was Xposed or a module that made that, and i could repair it at home.

its sound so good that Samsung repair the phone even with knox tripped .
and about Xposed, i dont interested in install it, i wanna just delete some pre charge apps and flash volumen mod. nothing more

For now i have not rooted my phone,and i froze all my bloatware with an app called "ez disabler". I only miss root because of titanium backup and Lucky patcher.

I don't know if there is any another way.
