Hey Guys,
We all know that there is very little chance that we are going to get G3 support for ROM Manager. So as we have been doing from a long time, lets take that task in our own hands
We shall create a team, and make a ROM Manager for G3 supporting most of the Custom ROM's and Kernel's.
What all we need:
Recovery - I will provide the recovery from G3MOD, separately, so that everyone can install even with Fugumod.
App Developers - Please Post in the thread if you are interested.
Server - If anyone can provide us with a server with good storage and bandwidth? OTA for all ROM's and Kernels can be included in the software.
Anyone Else who has any idea, and wants to help in this project is welcome
Advantages of this Project:
1) Odin flashing will no longer be required.
2) ROM's and their Updates can be provided from the Server directly.
3) You can try any new ROM, without loosing data from your previous ROM.
Note to ROM Developers:
1) You will need to provide your ROM's as System.img files
2) Those interested in providing your ROM's using this ROM Manager, please let us know.
Thanks To:
Koush for the superb recovery and ROM Manager.
Functions We Can Have for the ROM Manager + Recovery:
1) Update Recovery - App
2) List of ROM's with Features. - App
3) List of Kernel's with Features. - App
4) OTA Updates for all ROM's and Kernel's - App
5) Switching ROM's - CWM
6) Backup Data - CWM
7) Restore Data - CWM
8) Backup Current ROM - CWM
9) Reboot to Recovery - App

we just need enough support from everyone and this thing can be done
Coding the UI like in the famous ROM Managee shouldn't be hard 'cause it's basically an Options-Menu. The question is what's behind that. If we just need to fire Linux Shell Commands it shouldn't be hard - i set up an Script Executer for my first app allready.

Well, we already have the source for ROM manager, by koush...
https://github.com/ClockworkMod
So i dont think it will be very difficult to do it...
We just need as many app developers possible, so that we can have the project up and running fast
I am trying to mod the recovery in a better way, so switching between ROM's via CWM is faster and also there is no loss of data

Great Work!!
R u also working on a kernel which can support CM7 on multiboot?
Coz currently we have only 2 kernels for CM7, one by marcel himself and the other by apollo but in both the kernels music experience is very bad due to noise. Now, since marcel and apollo are very less active on XDA due to may be they get very less time from their work, there is only one option left and that is you
I really want to keep CM7 on my mobile but can do that with dual or multiboot only as it is not yet complete.
I hope this project will give life to G3 forum.

Good Start Man!
I will look into the code, and get back to you.
I am a beginer for Anroid, I may need more help from you.

Well this really is my kind of game
Since I already have the code to download files from a server this shouldn't be that hard.
I'll look into the source later on.
Would really like to be part of this

Hi dharam
I want to get in.
I can help as far as it is C code.
I checked the github repo, but all you can find are the resources needed for the layout and such. So we COULD use that, but that would mean we have to write all the underlying Java code by ourselves..

Kernel Manager
Kernel Manager is a simple App which downloads kernels for your device!
Downloaded kernels can easily installed with the app (through a custom recovery).
You can backup and restore kernels as well
Nothing more to say.
If your device is not supported ask your kernel dev to add support for the app

As there is only the stock kernel for the Sony ROMs and only one custom kernel for custom ROMs (other than those in their respective ROM) there is little need for ZU support

ASK YOUR KERNEL DEVELOPER!
Nice app you've done there.
Gonna add the Xperia Z2 and my Custom Kernel if it is ok
Altough, do you think it is possible to add a selfupdating part there so that if I update my kernel you don't need to update the app again ? Cause else I think once there are more devs using this app it will be a update mess.
Edit: Never mind, I did not saw that the file gets called from my sources so I need to update it.
Oh and as I want to keep track of everything: Maybe a download counter ?
EDIT2: https://github.com/Grarak/KernelManager/pull/2 All right there we go.
please if it is possible to add the jflte device I9505 I337M I9500 thanks

By checking the wiki link you would see that only 4 devices are supported ATM. Which are neither the OPO nor the i9300.

Well I have my files on androidfilehost and basketbuild looks to be kinda the same. The problem about this is that I think you can't add direct links to the files so your app would struggle. (At least It's like this on androidfilehost, Correct me if I'm wrong about basketbuild)

This app is nice and all but to few devices are supported. When I tried it it said my NOTE 2 (t0ltespr) is not supported. I look forward to being able to use it as I am sure many more are when and if many more devices get supported by it. The idea is a great one though.

Hi. I don't have a "kernel developer". I'm just an average user who wants an overclock able kernel for his SGH-M819N (Samsung Galaxy Mega on MetroPCS). I read the Tutorial for this app, but I have no idea about "editing JSONS", but I have rooted and replaced kernels many times. But how else can I get support for my device added? Looking all around, I can't find any kernels. Not even ones I can install thru "manual" means. What should I do?
Hi,
Koush's superuser (https://github.com/koush/Superuser) is abandonned.
Last update was february 2014 - date of the files provided in the last archive posted here http://koush.com/post/superuser.
Unfortunately It is not compatible with lollipop: https://github.com/koush/Superuser/issues/268
I don't want to use the closed-source superSU.
So my question is: do you know any alternative?
Thanks

I know that SlimRoms team forked Superuser: https://github.com/SlimRoms/Superuser but it looks like you have to use their roms because it is totally integrated into it. It is a bit the same with CyanogenMod: https://github.com/CyanogenMod/Superuser

I think there is a need to have an opensource alternative to superSU.

I'd be most interested in an opensource superuser app as well. I'll try to follow in the link you provided. Thanks.

Some activity: https://github.com/SlimRoms/Superuser/issues/4#issuecomment-125494463
I tried to build it but no success so far. It just need some tweaks here and there, like this another attempt to maintain koush' Superuser to Lollipop. I wish I knew more about Android development, but I can contribute to testing and other stuff.
BTW, I've been using "superuser-27042015_2-52c8320.zip" since I discovered it and I haven't found any significant problem, as long as you set SELinux as permissive. The only application that refused to work with that superuser was PowerNap but now that I don't use GAPPs I don't need to use it.
Just to show it's working, a few screenshots. We really need an alternative superuser, who respect the freedom of its users. Security by obscurity is not an option when we are dealing with root-related tasks.
I guess we'll be able to have superuser work with selinux in enforcing mode
thanks to phhusson's work: https://github.com/phhusson/Superuser
I saw those changes and I tried to build it with no success. The problem lays with Widgets, it also needs to be updated to support the latest SDK.
Is there a thrustfully ZIP file out there for phhussons Superuser? I'v not enought knowlege to built it by my own.
Not yet, tried to build it myself and I got an error when I try to use the su binary in my phone.
I hope we will get an open source Superuser app that is not abandoned. That will be great step for our freedom, security and privacy.
As the title says, this is a flashable OmniSwitch recents management zip for 5.1.x ROMs. All credit goes to @maxwen for creating OmniSwitch and @czboyshubham for creating this zip originally for 5.0. I simply updated it for 5.1.x so it functions properly on updated ROMs. I did this for Pure Nexus, but it should work on anything as far as I know - let me know if you run into issues and I will update this post accordingly. czboyshubham's original thread for those who wish to say thanks:

I've been messing with this for like 2 hours and no matter how I package the zip it will absolutely not open OmniSwitch outside of "restricted mode" no matter what I do. This is apparently going to be more difficult than I thought, but I'm still working on getting the permissions working so we can upgrade.. will update the thread as soon as I get it working. The new layout is nice, but I don't think we want restricted mode.. need to get to the bottom of this.

Awesome, glad it's running great for you too. What device/ROM you have it running on? Curious if it is working across the board, works great on Pure Nexus for N6 but haven't tested anything else myself. Anyone who uses this, feel free to leave device/ROM info if it works or doesn't - I hope this is compatible with anything, it should be the way perms are set but I am not really sure so confirmation would be cool.

What ROM/kernel are you running? Does it give you a "restricted mode" notification when you first boot? I was having these issues for the first 20 or so times I tried to package this, but the release I finally put out works outside of restricted mode on my Nexus 6. My kernel is set to permissive as well, if that matters any - definitely curious to see what causes the incompatibility.

I doubt AK kernel is the issue. I'm curious if it's a device issue, or more likely that this does not work on stock firmware, only custom ROMs. If anyone has this up and running on the One Plus One, or if anyone has this running on stock, please let me know. My guess is that this will only work on stock AOSP or custom ROMs, but that is just a guess at this point - hoping to get confirmation as more people download and flash. Thanks for reporting, I'll see what I can do once I get more information from other users across devices (hopefully).
Just wanted to let everyone know - this works for M ROMs, at least for Pure Nexus Marshmallow. Enjoy spicing up your M ROMs until features get added, thought I'd have to wait on Omni M
What is Mokee Rom?
It is a based-Cyanogenmod Rom, Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, multi-language, open source, created by Chinese developers.
Official Website:http://www.mokeedev.com/
English page for downloads: http://download.mokeedev.com/.
Before test the rom, remember that you are responsible for handling your device. Only you are responsible for possible damages flashing roms.
What different is from official version?
- Gapps are integrated ( usually the are in my roms).
- Xposed framework, pre-installed in system.
- Applications designed to make the Spen useful with the possibility of putting sound when removing and reinserting the Spen.
- Two different cameras, HTC M9 and his gallery, and Snap.
- Other stuff...
In 4.16.03 version you can find:
-most UI apps ZEN-based system Mokee, including:
-com.asus.backuprestore
-com.asus.browser
-com.asus.calculator
-com.asus.calendar
-com.asus.deskclock
-com.asus.drawres
-com.asus.email
-com.asus.filemanager
-com.asus.flashlight
-com.asus.gallery
-com.asus.ime
-com.asus.linkrim
-com.asus.lock
-com.asus.message
-com.asus.mobilemanager
-com.asus.music
-com.asus.server.azs
-com.asus.sitd.whatsnext
-com.asus.soundrecorder
-com.asus.soundrecorder
-com.asus.weathertime
The CM12-based mokkee apps redundant with the above, are deleted.
Mokee launcher is not present, ZenUi launcher is the default launcher. However you can apply themes in other items with CM-engine.
All gapps and common applications are updated.
FX special Mokee Viper4android version.
How to INSTALL:

Release 160403:
1st STEP.- FLASH THE ROM
https://mega.nz/#!F980zDTC!aptfRFuguF3TKb61If8F-lzzIg0O5NpCSbxS9kd9HK4
md5 checksum: ed22db4b9a819cd18999a3dad7c31e72
2nd STEP. FLASH XPOSED ZIP:

3rd STEP. .FLASH SUPERSU:
https://mega.nz/#!oskWnZxZ!v9t8_-Tdbv36ebQiKW1qX8g2SKRsSrFcsZ8hImznvkk
Yo can flash all steps at the same time, without rebooting in each step. ( easier for TWRP users).
Important:
You'd better disable the update by OTA , because doing an update from update advise, will give you Fc's or error in some parts . And you will loose all Zen-Ui stuff.
If you see an advise for update, simply, don't do it.
As they are versions that can differ a little bit each time I update , I prefer to provide a new weekly version - if is possible- and install my modified version over the previous one, only doing Cache and Dalvik Wipe . But always is better a new clean installation.
I hope you like it.
I leave you some pictures soon...

Firstly I'm not here for 6 months. I'm using this forum-portal for 4 years. And just because you are here for years doesn't mean you can play disrespectful. You are here for 9 years but you only have 23 thanks. You still don't know what to share or not, and I can see your threads/posts. You didn't give ANYTHING to this community. You're posting flaming stuff which is full of sh*t, and doesn't mean anything. Make something or shut up.
When it comes to paid or warez apps, yes it's still not allowed on XDA, if you're stealing it.
If you believe a post is against the rules then use the REport button .
It's Multi Dpi?

.
Excuse me for not answer before. I did nt see it till now. I must tell about this that i build this rom with free apps you can find in Play Store.
I.m not at home in this moment in order to see If Root Explorer was uploded by error with my paid app. I will see tonight. You must be sure that If i see that is not the free version i will remove it.
Sorry by that If this happened. I don t know. But please, dont give more importance to this. It was not my intention. I never did something wrong in many years through other threads. I always respected the owners, developers or creators of apps, roms or whatever else.
Thanks for your opinions and for share your comments.
You re wellcome.
All the rest of people are wellcome too.

I really don't want to be offensive, especially to you. I respect your ROM & Thread. The reason of my post is there are two apps Explorer and Root Explorer. Root Explorer is paid one. And if you didn't ask to dev, it's not free to distribute it.
Of course anyone can distribute free apps. You can even share paid one if you ask to dev. There isn't anything wrong with it. I became disrespectful because that guy trying to offense without any acceptable reason.
hey mate @ea3aitjr
Hopefully a quick question for ya.
What's the kernel you recommend for this? CM or TW base?
