Is it possible to throw in a bit of code to make the boot sequence wait on the boot animation if the boot sequence finishes loading before the animation finishes?

Said no one ever
Lol yeah, the reason I asked is because I made a custom boot animation and wouldn't mind seeing it finish

Yes, you have to set the loop higher than 0 in the script, so something like
Loop1 1 4
Loop2 0 4
Where it will finish loop1 once, then repeat loop2 until it boots

That doesn't help, currently my boot sequence finishes before my animation. I want my animation to finish before it completes the boot. What you suggested is to loop the animation which doesn't help if it doesn't even finish

On Valhalla black edition and flashed a custom boot animation but animation gets cut short. Is there anyway to slow the boot process so animation completes
Flash stock. It will boot a lot slower for you.
Obviously i do not want the stock thats why i flashed the custom boot animation. just wondering if there's boot process edit, can i add cache wipe on boot maybe that will increase time
Boot animation and stock ROM have nothing to do with each other.
My current ROM favors any stock i would go back to. Basically what you are saying there's no way to slow the boot process. Only other option is to flash a shorter bootanimation file
I like this thread, "How can I make my phone boot slower?"
At the end of the day I wasn't serious. Stupid questions get stupid answers and there is actually a thread for stupid questions. Take no offense to that please... but take a step back and read your question again.
I think you might be the only one on here that wants a slower phone.
key phrase "boot process". no one is talking about performance when system & OS are loaded and active. The English language is difficult to some so ll write in spanish next time

Is it so important to slow down how fast your phone boots just to see a boot animation? Most people here are boggled why you want to slow the boot process down just see some pictures when your phone boots? Most people would rather have t booted ready to use faster. That is why most boot animations are no longer than 20 seconds.
I guess I should have written this so a third grader that likes shiny things can understand it tho.
Closing this thread.. it's not going to end well I can see. To the OP > No.. there's no way to slow down the boot process. Now go enjoy the operating system and not the damn boot animation!
I flashed a Paranoid Android ROM and now the 7 won't boot past the logo. When going to the boot loader I can't select other options and the power will not initiate the 'Start' sequence to continue with boot.
It will, however, respond to the 3-finger salute and shut down. I can then press the power button and start a normal boot (meaning that the button does work).
I will say I probably forgot to wipe or something, but it is an unusual situation that I can't even enter recovery.
I am also having plenty of issues with Win8 and drivers (granted I am still using the Evaluation one), so getting to fastboot for manual intervention is not working right now.
Has anyone encountered a situation where you are in Bootloader and NOT be able to execute fastboot commands?
I had the same problem.

I had the same problem with PA and being unable to execute fastboot commands. An easy fix for me was to use the Nexus root toolkit to boot into temporary CWM. I was able to wipe and re-flash PA and it was fixed. Unfortunately, you said you can't do this because of Windows 8 problems... This actually happened to me a couple times though, and once I was able to get into recovery. Try this. Make sure your 7 is absolutely unplugged from anything, so it can't even be charging. Get to the bootloader with the 3-finger salute and see if you can use the volume buttons to get to recovery. If you can, and it actually take you to recovery, thats great, but most of the time for me it got stuck at the Google screen. So if this doesn't work you may have to figure out whats wrong with Windows 8 first. Hope I could help!
Did you make a back up? Did you Flash clockwork mod or a custom recovery image? If not do what he said.

UPDATE:
With WUGS Nexus Root Toolkit 154 I was able to do a complete system restore from the boot loader screen. Even though I could not use the three buttons individually to change options OR initiate the displayed option.
I did have to reload Win7 on my machine *just as well I only has the trial one anyway) and the drivers picked up fine. This issue is independent of the Nexus7.
The bottom line is that the Bootloader, even though it seemed frozen, was still accessible via Fastboot commands.

HAd backup. Was with TWRP. BUT could not get to Recovery mode. All good now though.

Glad to hear it. There is an updated boot loader in the forum somewhere that fixes the "unable to boot in to recovery via fast boot" which can save a lot of hassle if you happen to boot loop again. Makes it a hell of a lot easier to recover. I had the same issue when I first rooted too. Had to just full wipe and recover to stock because I rooted first and then unlocked the boot loader which made the root not stick so when I tried to flash the first ROM got a boot loop and couldn't get to recovery, such a pain in the ass the nexus is.

hi guys,
just a little question, I'm pretty sure most of you have the answer: I bought a T-Mobile HTC One S on eBay (excellent condition), and I'm trying to get rid of all the T-Mobile crap.
I unlocked bootloader, TWRP, root + read-write kernel, so I've been able to get rid of all the apps I didn't want. There's only 1 thing (actually 2) I don't know how to get rid of: T-Mobile splash screens (welcome and shutdown).
I have another HTC One S cell, not associated with a carrier so I know what a carrier-free startup looks like (only the white HTC splash screen). I'd like to have the same on my second One S (which is for my wife). On the T-Mobile One S, I have the T-Mobile splash screen PLUS the regular HTC splash screen.
Question: is it possible to get rid of these extra splash screens from T-Mobile?
I read that I may have to play with command lines like this one "fastboot flash splash1 mysplash.rgb565" but none of the threads I read what about the One S. And I don't want to replace T-Mobile splash screens, I just want to remove them in order to only keep HTC splash screens...
thanks
Are you trying to get the boot splash off or bootanimation. I think that bootanimation have the tmob logo. It has been a while since I had stock boot splash or bootanimation. The bootanimation is in /system/customize/resource and file name hTC_bootup_one.zip. The splash screen I flashed trough software. Can not remember the name at this time. I did trough fastboot but that was on MT4G.

I don't know what's the difference between boot splash and bootanimation... On my HTC I only have an HTC animation at startup, but on the T-mobile cell I have a T-Mobile animation BEFORE the HTC animation.
I'm gonna compare files in /system/customize/resource folder, this might help me figuring out how to remove T-Mobile animation. Thanks.
Files found!

OK I checked and you were right: in both cells I have
- htc_boot.mp3
- hTC_bootup_one.zip
- hTC_downanimation.zip
and in T-Mobile One S I also have (in same folder):
- TMOUS_downanimation.zip
- TMOUS_rockey_bootanimzation.zip
Do you think I can just remove those files to get rid of boot up and shut down T-Mobile animations? No chance of bricking? I'll do a full TWRP recovery prior to trying this of course!
Done.
I followed this thread for an HTC Amaze 4G and it worked like a charm : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1414794
Yes. If you delete then will go back to stock(HTC). I made my own splash and boot/downanimation and put my mp3 in it. Just for fun.
help

Hi,
This is my first post on this forum and I might sound like a total dummy (cos I am when it comes to rooting/flashing android devices).
My Nexus 4 was suffering from poor battery performance and to correct that I thought of trying my hands at rooting it and flashing it with a custom ROM. However, being a noob, little did I realize what I was getting myself in to.
Now, after unlocking the boot loader, when I tried to boot my device from recovery mode, it just wouldn't fire up, but kept showing the rotating dots of lollipop boot screen.
After a lot of fiddling, I managed to mess up even further as now, the rotating dots are also not appearing and I just get Google logo twice and after that the device's screen just keeps blinking with a faded background light on the screen.
I used Nexus4Root to root the device and have ADB installed on my Mac OS X machine.
Is there anything I can do to bring my Nexus 4 back to life?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.

Seems like unlocking your Boot loader have not been successful , Toolkits are not always dependable. I think you should unlock ur Boot loader manually with adb and fastboot .
You could find guides for that all over the web. Go on and try that..
Good luck

Thanks for the response. I think I did manage to unlock the Boot loader, as I can see that in the status when I switch ON the phone in 'recovery mode'. The problem is that I am not able to boot the phone through recovery mode. As I said, it goes in a sort of boot loop. It does not boot from normal mode, same thing happens (boot loop).
Is it possible to flash the factory image in the current state of device? The device is not detected by my Mac when I try to fastboot it.
Any guides/threads I can look at with similar information? Have been looking up quite a lot online, but to no avail.
Thanks again!
Hello, I am new here so I will try to be as detailed as possible.
My One Plus 7 Pro seems to be bricked and I have been trying for the past two days to try and make some head way. I have searched and used all versions of the MSM Tool for this phone but after flashing I get the logo, the spinning animation comes up then the screen goes dark. A boot loop begins just like before and then it eventually goes dark.
The boot state is locked so I cannot flash with fastboot through CMD or Powershell. Is there anything else I can try?
PS. The phone came up at random one of the times but when I clicked on "agree" on the terms and condition page, it just ended up going dark and then back to square one. Was trying to unlock the boot state through developer tools but I failed.
I did a root rm -rf / in recovery adb, I couldnt even get the thing to vibrate but MSM tool got it back up and running. keep trying ;p

I used the global. It was the only one that seems positive to a point. The one plus logo comes up, the spinning animation comes next...but it then freezes mid spin then the screen goes dark. I am not sure why it doesn't seem to be working all the way.
