hi guys,
just a little question, I'm pretty sure most of you have the answer: I bought a T-Mobile HTC One S on eBay (excellent condition), and I'm trying to get rid of all the T-Mobile crap.
I unlocked bootloader, TWRP, root + read-write kernel, so I've been able to get rid of all the apps I didn't want. There's only 1 thing (actually 2) I don't know how to get rid of: T-Mobile splash screens (welcome and shutdown).
I have another HTC One S cell, not associated with a carrier so I know what a carrier-free startup looks like (only the white HTC splash screen). I'd like to have the same on my second One S (which is for my wife). On the T-Mobile One S, I have the T-Mobile splash screen PLUS the regular HTC splash screen.
Question: is it possible to get rid of these extra splash screens from T-Mobile?
I read that I may have to play with command lines like this one "fastboot flash splash1 mysplash.rgb565" but none of the threads I read what about the One S. And I don't want to replace T-Mobile splash screens, I just want to remove them in order to only keep HTC splash screens...
thanks
Are you trying to get the boot splash off or bootanimation. I think that bootanimation have the tmob logo. It has been a while since I had stock boot splash or bootanimation. The bootanimation is in /system/customize/resource and file name hTC_bootup_one.zip. The splash screen I flashed trough software. Can not remember the name at this time. I did trough fastboot but that was on MT4G.

I don't know what's the difference between boot splash and bootanimation... On my HTC I only have an HTC animation at startup, but on the T-mobile cell I have a T-Mobile animation BEFORE the HTC animation.
I'm gonna compare files in /system/customize/resource folder, this might help me figuring out how to remove T-Mobile animation. Thanks.
Files found!

OK I checked and you were right: in both cells I have
- htc_boot.mp3
- hTC_bootup_one.zip
- hTC_downanimation.zip
and in T-Mobile One S I also have (in same folder):
- TMOUS_downanimation.zip
- TMOUS_rockey_bootanimzation.zip
Do you think I can just remove those files to get rid of boot up and shut down T-Mobile animations? No chance of bricking? I'll do a full TWRP recovery prior to trying this of course!
Done.
I followed this thread for an HTC Amaze 4G and it worked like a charm : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1414794
Yes. If you delete then will go back to stock(HTC). I made my own splash and boot/downanimation and put my mp3 in it. Just for fun.

You can flash a new splash screen in hboot.
ok how
im new sry
Check out this thread There are instructions & a bunch of cool splash screens.
I would like to remove my rogers logo when my phone boot up.
Is anyway I can do this.
I saw some article with fastboot, but it seems to be for the HTCs phones.
also found CreateG1Splash application, but still the same we need to push the file to the phone and it seems we need the fastboot functionality even with androidflasher.
Also tried to change the bootanimation.zip with a custom one, but the logo is still there.
I would think that we need odin with a param.lfs and a boot screen.
Do we have a tutorial to do that?
I could find some stuff on youtube but not for infuse.
DOes someone has an idea?
thanks

U need to be s-off to change splash screen
Here is my backup of stock HTC
You can flash the nb as splash1 through fastboot or use adb to dd over mmcblk0p19 (be really careful you don't type the wrong number here)
I let my not so smart friend borrow my phone because his phone wouldn't let him change his boot screen, well he used Rom toolbox and installed acustom boot screen that I don't like. I want the original boot screen. Google play edition boot screen would be fine too, it's on Rom toolbox, but when it installs it doesn't do it. Also I might need to know what folder I need to work with.

Look in /system/media and see if rom tool box renamed the original boot animation. In there will be a bootanimation.zip which is the one you don't want. If you see a bootanimation.zip.bak or something like that, that's the one you want
