LG app development - Excisting Qslide news - Android General

Hey all!
Sorry for posting this in here, in case it's not the perfect place to do so.
As you know Qslide is LG's way to do multitasking, consisting on windows (Halo like) that can be minimized and even transparent.
Originally, it only supported stock LG apps, but now things has taken a beautiful path.
See here for the news:
http://www.phonearena.com/news/LG-to...eature_id51906
and here for details:
http://developer.lge.com/resource/mo...yTypeCode=ANRS
I always wanted that because with default apps, it felt useless!
Please spread the news so it can reach the maximum number of developers!

Great Job dev! Keep it up and bring us more goodies
Thanks!

One question.. right now the QSlide Apps SDK requires API level 17, but my QLight plugin does not include the SDK itself. It uses the QSlide apps shortcut functionality only. Can this functionality be used on lower API levels? I didn't find this information in the documentation. It would be great if I can make my app available on older versions of QSlide.

Hey quick question, since the qslide sdk does include a simple "shortcut" function, would it be posible to make a simple qlite type app but let the end user direct what app the plugin launches? Basically use the shortcut function as a means to alow any app to be put in the qslide area.

Yes, this is possible, but the app will be launched as a standard application and will not use QSlide's floating windows.

My Top Apps is an app that helps you take control of the apps you have on your device.
We all know that once you have lots of apps, it could be very frustrating looking for your favorite apps all the time, or constantly reorganizing your home page to have your most used apps.
This app is all about making your life easier by adapting your apps use habits and organize your apps by its usage.
My Top Apps monitors the apps that you use and provides quick access to the apps you used recently, most used apps or the apps that you use for the longest duration.
My Top Apps offers a launcher-style view, details view or a timeline view of the apps you use, and a set of widgets so you will never have to customize your home page with your favorite apps.
The app is available for download on the Android market or AppBrain.
Detailed user guide is available here.
nice app to add to your portfolio. i've downloaded it and giving it a try. i like the ignore apps feature with MRU, keeps my handy apps even handier. i might just have to get rid of my folders now, i'll be sure to leave an appropriate rating in about a week.
just for my sake, LRU is only based on last use; MRU is based on the number of uses; and Pro gets an additional ordering based on total time used. is this correct?
edit: sorry, missed the link to your blog, which covers that question clearly.. thanks

Hello
Mobile Money Manager is what its name suggest. I've created it because none of the existing ones was fit to me. They were either overloaded with functionalities or just poor-looking. In this app, I'm trying to find something between.
Mobile Money Manager is avalible in english and polish language version. Description avalible on Google Play
The beta version is free of charges and adds. It might however include some bugs. I'd appreciate any bug report.

Why no holo theme?
It's classy and actually pretty easy to implement in an app.
Consider it
I'm considering it. The only thing that stops me is those cute icons (they are cute, you have to admit)
Great application! Works great on HTC Desire. Simple and nice, easy to use
Looks promising. Good work. Here's something I noticed : When you add income or expense and select the category and get the prompt "Insert Value", clicking on the text area opens the alphabet keyboard. Clearly a number is expected so the number keypad should open up.

yeah it's a big pain int the... you know. It's a known issue. Such a simple thing is actually not easy to do. I'm trying to get some clues over the internet and fix it asap. For now I'll just make the keyboard pop-up without clicking on edit, so its at least what I can do to make user's life easier
I cant instal this app on my froyo, maybe you should make version for older phones too?

About time you ask. Such version is on the way to Google Play. Should be avalible in couple of hours. Here is the changelog for the newest version. Plenty of changes in
*app is now avalible for devices with android 2.1 and newer
*changed the layout of statistics, added tabs with swipe functionality
*added new functionality - detailed stats
*corrected the automatic keyboard pop-up in expenses
*changed the widget layout to fully transparent
*removed the black frame, that was "eating" the precious screen space
*added the about site avalible on logo click
*changed the red color to less annoying
UI is cute~~

[APP][4.0+] Numix Croma

Market Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.numixproject.croma
Croma is a an app to create and share palettes, built with simplicity in mind. Its design is inspired my Google's material design.
It allows you to create palettes in three ways:
• by manually adding colours
• by extracting colours from an image
• by automatically creating palettes (complementary, split-complementary, analogous etc.) from a selected colour.
The app also allows you to save and share palettes with ease and extract colours form an image from your favourite image viewer. You can choose between plenty of ways to share your palette. Opening shared palettes with Croma is as easy as a single tap on the palette link you've received.

Cool app! This would come in handy next year when it's time to paint.
If you would like, I can translate the app into Spanish... just post the strings.xml file here.
Security
Hi, I decided sometime ago to test how hackeable apps I found here on XDA are, and, with Freedom or Lucky Patcher I can get the pro version of your app, so, you may want to check your security.
(also: what the pro versions does? After checking, I couldn't find a difference)

Hi, thanks for your report! The pro version allows to add more than 4 colors in a palette (and so to extract < 4 colors from images).

More than 4? I used to use color grab (it gets colors from the camera, but one by one, and it's really ugly), your app looks good, and gets more from the camera, the donate version is worth it, keep up with the good work
Hi, as a themer this could be a very useful tool. But when I try your app on a screenshot of my theme I notice the hexcolors are not equal with the one's I used..

[APP][5.0+] Photo Pinner - Pin photos to prevent people viewing your whole library

In Android 5.0, Screen Pinning was added. It can pin apps, great
But it can't pin single photos.
How many times have you tried to show someone one of your photos, only to have them go through your whole album?
Photo Pinner solved that
Simply select a photo in your favourite gallery app, share it to Photo Pinner and press the pin button. Android will take care of the rest - you can even make it go to the lockscreen before unpinning!
Photo Pinner is totally free, free from ads, has a tiny file size and needs no permissions
It also supports basic pinch zoom features, and views in fullscreen

Is there a way to hide the "help"? I don't need people to know how to exit the pin app. Now that I know, I know.
Otherwise, an app I didn't know I had a use for, but now think will be valuable. Thanks!

[TEMPLATE] [4.4+] Material Design Template

Hi guys,
UPDATE 2016-02-22: Current Android Studio makes it easy creating apps with material design. I wont update this thread and it can be closed. Feel free to use the code at github if you find anything useful there.
Android Material Design is the way to go at the moment, but there is no example from google providing a basic setup.
There is many information spreaded in lots of threads and articles, thus this makes it hard for beginners to fetch all the information and bring it together.
What I came up with, is a clean Android Studio project providing all the material style you need.
My goal is, to share and improve this template, in order to provide future developers a starting point.
Look here:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
There is no external library included, so you can edit all the elements.
Feel free to fork and use this project. If theres something missing, please send me a pull request!

Updates
22.02.2015
Updated to Android Studio 1.1
Fixed accent color for lollipop devices
16.09.2015
Updated to Android Studio 1.3.2
Changed the way tabs are inflated and added to the view. You can now dynamically add and remove tabs! Its much easier now to change the content of the app. Reorganized and optimized source code. This update is a must!
Is this an actual template that you can import and create new apps from or just an example that you can edit and make modifications as you like
What is the largest resolution?
It's actually not that clear what is the purpose of you project.
It seems like just two combined google templates from android studio: View Pager and Navigation Drawer

It should help you build apps with the Material Design. This is no template you can import into android Studio.

Not quite right. If you combine those templates you wont have a material look in 4.4 and you wont have a material tabbar. I just tried to give a starting point, because for me it was hard to get these informations together to a working project.

Hi,
you have to remove the SlidingTabLayout and the ViewPager from the acitivity_main.xml.
Then, in MainAcivity.java remove all calls related to that objects.
These are in initLayout(), bindTabevents, addTab, etc.
You may remove all Java Class files related to Tabs, too.
Dont forget to add a new layout element which replaces the viewpager, so you can add your content there.
I hope this helps.
Hi!
Good template to start with material design.
Wish I've had it earlier
