download and install BMM from gplay and hv a look at the dev section.....
First warning: don't flash 2.3 fxz or any other fxz not for AT&T or you'll have a brick
Now we just care about BMM, don't install other recoveries
If you are on 4.0.4 official, just go to PS and install BMM (Boot Menu Manager), usage is around

Just a quick question guys.
1. the official ota updates from google only work with the stock rom right? does it matter if the phone is rooted or not? so if the phone is rooted, do the ota updates work?
2. if i want to get back from a rooted rom/cm7 rom/miui rum/... to a complete stock rom (with stock recovery, etc.) so total stock i just flash the official 2.3.6 version from google via recovery and everything is normal, right? so if i am back to the stock, the ota updates should work?
thanks guys
nobody?
Yes the OTA updates would work for a complete stock ROM even if you have rooted it, After the update you would have stock recovery and would lose root.
Wht if ur on stock rom but have matrix kernel will it work then?

I think you need to be fully stock, ROM + Kernel. I might be wrong though.
I'm here with a rooted Skyrocket (AT&T) on G-Bread 2.3.5 and need to unroot.
I originally rooted while I was on 2.3.4, but about a month and half ago the firmware automatically updated to 2.3.5.
I used DooMLoRD_v3_ROOT-zergRush-busybox-su method.
My end-game is to get back to complete stock Skyrocket.
Grazie
1) why would u want to...?
2) flash stock rom via odin.
3) learn to use the search button.
4) have a good day.

Really? I am actually better off flashing stock? From the point I'm at now, can I flash the leaked 4.0.3 ICS?

Yes
Yes
I would suggest reading about the leak before you flash it. Flashing stock will trip your flash counter, flashing ICS will not.

Go download the stock images and pull the recovery.img from them.

You can get stock recovery off the Motodev page.
http://developer.motorola.com/products/software/
You need to sign up though, which doesn't take long at all.
Surely the image on Motodev is for v3 of android so it won't be the stock recovery from 4.0.4
I don't want to re-flash my entire Xoom again as recovering apps etc is a pain...

Your going to want to do some research, if you upgrade via fxz I believe you have no safe way to get back to GB....
However...
If you upgrade to leak 1 via jimbridgmans method there is a safe way to get back....
After deciding which method to use, install atrix bootstrap and pick your ROM... I say bootstrap cause its the most supported...
Good luck and enjoy....

If your phone is not from AT&T, and you install the upgrade that Pzyduck upload, you won't be able to downgrade to GB.
I update mi atrix 2 thru OTA toICS ICS.
AND now I have 100% succesfully downgraded frm ICS 2
GB without breaking the handset.
Step to roll back to GB
1. Backup your Data.
2. Download RSDlite 5.6 or latest from link given below
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1348587
3. Download stock rom from below link.
http://sbf.droid-developers.org/edison/list.php
4. I am from India. I use Asia retail version. zip files startin wth 5 s GB nd startin wth 6 s ICS.
select Ur ROM wise.
5. go 2 youtube search 4 "How to Flash Atrix 2 to
stock using RSDlite" ths show how 2 flash.
6. U ar done. thts it.
TESTED INDIAN ROM. ONLY FOE MB865. DONT USE OR ME865.
Good to see you took the risk! good one bro!
life!
Last time i did that and i end up with hard brick Atrix2 :crying:
