I've gone through unlocking my xoom wifi only (MZ604). Then when I try installing cwm it says all OK with the flash via fastboot but when I restart and hit vol down after 3 seconds I never gets the option to go into recovery?
Can anyone help pls?
Power & Vol up until you see the M. Release them then 3 or 4 seconds after your release press vol down.

thx for the info. when I do that, I only get options to go into rsd, fastboot or nvd or something? hmmm...
Flash the recovery again. Once you have verification on your device that this has been flashed, reboot your device by holding volume up + power.
Then 3 seconds after you see the Motorola logo, hit volume down. You should now see "Android Recovery" in the top left corner. Hit volume up to boot into recovery.

Hi! I had Android 3.1 on my TF101 and it was already rooted, I updated CWM to 6.0 and in recovery I can't mount storage, and I can't do anything...when trying to reboot it stucks at the boot logo (I think i formatted, wiped system but not sure). And when I trying to do a Factory reset, it freezes at: Formatting /data... So? Can somebody help me please? Oh, and when I trying to reboot with power, and volume down, it says something like this: Press Vol Up to enter recovery in 5 secs. If I dont press it, it brings me to a menu, like this: Press vol up to execute, ot vol down to skip wipe. I've tried both options but I think it freezes...or I didn't wait as much as it needs (10 mins about)??

Hiya have you tried this yet?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1688012
this should get you back to a fresh start but whay where you trying to do?
I'm guessing you used ROM Manager to install CWM.
Use EasyFlasher as noted by all43 to install a working recovery - I highly recommend TWRP. Then put your ROM on a microSD formatted for FAT32z
Boot to recovery (VOL DOWN and POWER for 12-15 sec, then tap VOL UP to enter RCK)
Then wipe cache, Davlik, format system and factory reset.
Install ROM and if applicable GAPPS and Kernel.
Reboot
Profit
Thanks, Easy Flasher solved my problem
I have doogee dg500(mt6589) the phone will not turn on,charge ect.when I run flash tools I get Emi obtain dram failed .5054 message any help or other options will be apprciated.
fix
The first thing is to boot to recovery mode...
1. Pull the battery and reinsert.
2. Hold Power and Vol-Up (the top of the volume rocker) buttons at the same time, until the phone boots to a menu and then immediately release the Power button. The options will continue to scroll and when the arrow gets to [Recovery Mode] <<== , immediately release the Vol Up button.
3. The phone should now be at [Recovery Mode] <<==. If it isn't (or if the phone starts to boot to another mode), pull the battery and try again. There's a bit of a knack to this sequence and I often have to do it many times.
4. Press the Power button twice, then press the Vol Up button. The phone should now show an Androidon its back with a red triangle and exclamation mark against it.
5. Press the Power button to get to the Recovery menu. (I'm sure there's a simpler way of doing this, but I haven't found it yet!)
The next thing is to Wipe cache and then Wipe data / factory reset...
6. Use Vol Down to navigate to Wipe cache partition, then press Vol Up to select it.
7. You'll see a picture of an Android with its belly open and a message -- Wiping cache... and Formatting /cache... Wait until the Recovery menu reappears - it takes quite a long time, so be patient.
8. Use Vol Down to navigate to wipe data /factory reset and press Vol Up to select.
7. Navigate to 'Yes' using Vol Down and select with Vol Up. You'll see a message --Wiping data... and Formatting /data and Formatting /cache - wait until the Recovery menu reappears.
I am copied this info from a willington's reply to someone about this brand of phone on this site.

Okay so after doing a couple days research and listening to you guys, I found out when I rooted I didn't flash a recovery... So yeah I installed CWM recovery and then wiped cashe partision and it worked. When I wiped it, it came up saying to "fix root" as I may have lost in then I clicked yes then booted straight away. That's it fixed now.
Thank you for your help everyone!

When the phone is rebooting, press and hold power down, you'll then get into Fastboot. From there, go to Recovery using the volume down key and when selected, press the volume up to select. If it tries to install the update again, don't let it reboot into the ROM - when the recovery restarts itself, make sure you hold volume down again.

It doesn't work it just keeps rebooting and coming up with the "bootloader unlocked" screen after itself
1. With the phone powered off, press the VOL UP + VOL DOWN KEY together + POWER KEY .
2. The device will display different BOOT OPTIONS
3. Use the VOL DOWN Key to SCROLL to Recovery and VOL UP Key to SELECT
Tip: If the device reboots, you may have waited to long to make a selection, you will need to begin the process again.
4. The device will display the Motorola logo and then the Android in distress ( logo with Exclamation mark)
5. Press and hold the VOL DOWN key, then tap and release the VOL UP key.
Tip: You can try this step, holding the phone in landscape. If you are stuck on step 5, try a force reboot by pressing the power Key and Vol Down key, and start the process again.
6. The device will display additional menu options (Text will appear in BLUE)
7. Use the VOL DOWN Key to scroll to wipe cache partition and the POWER Key to SELECT this option.
8. The device will then perform the partition wipe
9. Once the Formatting is complete, press the POWER key to confirm a REBOOT
11. The device will reboot and start the normal power up sequence .
worked for me.....

Still none the wiser how to update to 4.4.4 though! I mean surely with a rooted phone there is an app to do it these days???
u can try this
if you have unlock bootloader and can go to fastboot mode,.try to flash your moto g using your 4.4.2 stock rom by manually (you can search how to do it),.flash partition gpt and motoboot (ignore the error),reboot bootloader and finished the rest command..flash phil touch recovery and reboot ro recovery,go to install zip, choose install zip from sideload then send your phone update using sideload command.
that"s solved my problems when i'm getting stuck on blank screen after unlock bootloader warning or only booting to recovery,i'm on 4.4.2 when get that error.
but now in my case,i should go to fastboot mode and choose normal powerup to make my phone booting normally,.because if i'm power on using power button, moto g booting to recovery, not a big deal for me as long as my phone back to the track hehehe
my moto g is o2 germany, but i'm flashing with 4.4.2 germany retail and 4.4.4 update for germany retail.

If you have recovery you can try press the button combination below, one of them should work, note I use the it for my G-Pro F350L:
The phone need to be off:
- Power + Vol down, when see LG logo release both button 1-2 seconds and press it again
- Power + Vol down, when see LG logo release both button 1-2 seconds and press Vol down + Volume Up
- If you can enter it will show as Factory reset use Vol up/down to move it and select yes with Power button two times.
If all good you should enter recovery to restore your TWRP system back up or do all wipe except Internal storage to flash other custom rom.
