Can´t mount ext. SDcard on TWRP 2.6.3.1 - Transformer TF300T Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I am on TWRP 2.6.3.1 and CM11, but I can´t mount ext. SDcard for backup or flashing ROMs. I have to copy them to internal storage before flashing or restore something. Is this a bug in newest TWRP? Backup and restore to internal storage went well.

Nope, I don't seem to have that problem, are you switching the partition being viewed at the top of the file manager?

I can´t switch to ´/sd-ext´ . The log says: "E: Unable to mount external_SD" eveytime I want to mount it or wipe it. The SDCard ist readable in CM11.

Is it formatted correctly for Android? FAT32 works fine.

Yes, it is, FAT32. Formated on Win7 and with CM11. It is the SDcard in dock, not MicroSD in tablet!

sdcard mount issue in Recovery

I am looking for some help with my sdcard on my P3113
I can no longer mount my sdcard in recovery. "Error mounting /sdcard!" any time I try. Here is what I have done so far to try and fix it:
Reflashed CWM 6. No difference
Flashed CWM 5. No difference.
Used Odin to return the device to stock.
Flashed CWM 5. Still same issue
Flash CWM 6. Still same issue.
Any reason I can't mount my SDCARD anymore in recovery or any suggestions on what I can do next to fix it?

Have you tried formatting the card?
Yes, I have tried multiple different cards also and they mount just fine once the ROM is booted.
Which SD Card (internal or external)? Also, does the SD Card mount properly when booted into Android? I had the external sd fail to mount in recovery, when to use it in Android, and it wasn't recognized there either. Had to do a reformat before my tablet could recognize it again.

The problem is with the External SD card not be accessable while in recovery. Once I am booted into the OS I am able to access it and use whatevers on it no problem. I have formated the first card and that didn't help, so I switch to a different card and that didn't work either. I have tried flashing Recovery again as well as returning to full stock and rerooting. Recovery just won't see the card. It's not that big of a deal, i just want to make sure I am not going to start having other problems too...
same device, same problem, using cyanogenmod 13.

It seems you wiped/formatted your internal storage.
You should be able to mount by USB to your pc if you have your drivers for the device installed though I have never tried.
Few things you could try.
1.) reformat microSD card(fat32) and put rom on it and see if it is mountable again.
2.)If you are getting the message unable to mount internal storage try formatting the internal storage using twrp(data will be lost).

I try new SD card and reformat but same situation. How driver i need for connection over USB?
You'll need to use adb to connect your device whilst in twrp. However why don't you just copy a ROM to SD card and flash that way?

This looks to me as if you're another candidate for this method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1803343
The instructions are for an old ICS rom, but still work with JB 4.2
You may want to search for users ssnova or jjgrantham in the CROMIX thread in the development section and pm them.
They had exactly your problem: only thing they could boot to was TWRP and solved it using above method.
Good luck, let us know if it worked!

Well, after looking a solution to ADB sideload write error from TWRP, I just rebooted TWRP, asked me to install SuperSU, rebooted, and sideload worked perfectly.
HellYeah

After wipe i can't mount usb storage

Hi all, i have a huge problem. Yesterday i wiped everything in my rom with cwm, wiped data, sd, cache, dalvik and system. I saved on my pc a folder with some files i need to flash and some backups. I would like to mount the usb storage from the recovery, put the files in and flash normally through cwm. BUT, and there is a but, my phone is perfectly view by the pc (it says also Nexus s in periferical) but doesn't see the drive when i mount the usb storage? Do you know why? Is not a problem of drivers, because the phone is perfectly seen. Now i can't boot, because i don't have a SO, and i can't mount the usb storage from cwm. Is there a method to flash roms .zip from fastboot? I'd need the .img file, not the .zip ones. How do i solve?
Thank you very much
I solved by downloading the factory images from google and flashing them from bootloader

TWRP 2.6.1 won't mount file system

Has anyone experienced issues with TWRP being unable to mount the file system?
I can't seem to mount file system while in the recovery. Get the following:
E: Unable to mount 'external_sdcard'
TWRP can't deal with NTFS or exFAT. Is it fat32?

What I meant was, that your external MicroSD may be formatted in NTFS or exFAT and then TWRP won't see it. It has to be FAT32. If you ever formatted that card on your PC, that may be the problem. If not, the card could be faulty??? IDK
I assume you went to 'Mount' in TWRP and the MicroSD is not checked?
Describe a little more what you are trying to do.

Nope - I don't have a MicroSD card. I was just trying to mount the data on the tablet. My initial post wasn't clear - I was try to mount the file system on the tablet and the only error generated was specific to mounting the sdcard (which I don't have).
I couldn't have titled the original post any worse.

in order to use twrp you should disable encryption in buld..prop or use the zip file
in forum to disable encryption.
but should make factory reset once in twrp to mounting data partition
use the newest twrp version both sd card and internal sd mounting well.

Repair file system. Go to wipe. Select advanced, then repair the file system of system partition. Then go to mount tab and mount system!
