Hi everybody
My nephew has a Samsung sch-i535 with an ML1 baseband rooted with the saferoot method .He had the hotspot activation problem. I had it in my S4 sch-i545 and I fixed it using this method :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2512981
I have searched a lot to find a fix for his problem but I couldn't find a fix . I thought to give my method a try so,I made a copy of his system original (framework-res.apk) and tried to change it with the one I fixed my phone with.If it doesn't fix the problem , I will return the original one. Unfortunately, the phone restarted and hanged on the Verizon entry logo that comes after the (Samsaung SIII) bootscreen (I will attach a pic )
What about flashing the Rom again with odin????
Please help .I don't know what to do

Yes it was fixed . If u have a custom recovery , just download this zip file in the link below and install it from the recovery
http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23269279319200942
If u have a knox bootloader and a stock recovery just download this file:
http://www.4shared.com/rar/iL7zW0Tgce/framework-res_for_verizon_s3_M.html
I uploaded it for u and to whom need it. I took the file from the VRUCML1 Stock Root Deodex Aroma(02.17.14) custom ROM in this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2591895

OK I figured out how to mount /system RW, but I can't copy framework-res.apk as the filesystem doesn't have enough space:
Filesystem Size Used Free Blksize
/system 1.44G 1.41G 35.6M 4096
Does anybody know what I can do to cleanup /system to recoop a couple of MB which will allow me to copy the file?
Thanks

I started to add language once as the chineese ROM came out. Its kind of tricky, as you have to open up all apks, you want to translate, and add the languagefiles. When there aren't any language files, for your desired language, you have to translate them on your own.
After that you have to repack the apk, sign it, and push it on your phone.
This can give you some sleepless nights
Edit: here's the APK Manager to open/repack/sign your apks: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=695701
ok
u can add arabic in whatsapp, heywire and firefox ?
if u can add him and place apks here pleease
No as I can't speak or read any arabic I can't do this... as well as I don't have the time to do something like this.
you have to do this on your own. If you don't want to spend some of your own time, you'll probably never get help.
You can ask questions if you stuck on a point, but you have to show that you are willing to spend times. Go on reading what I've posted above...

U have to extract the whole zip-file. Theres a nandroid.md5 in it. This file has a checksum in it for the system.img. If you don't use them both together, the clockworkmod won't work.
if you did all that, and still getting md5 mismatch, you really have to reload the zip-file.
I remember downloading this and saving it when I still had the SK4G. It works great, just replace the update.zip on the / of your sdcard to use. Click the THANKS button if you D/L'ed/Used/Referred To/So on...
Just because of the nature of this mod, I cannot and will not be held responsible for any mishaps to your devices and or any of its accessories (SDCards) that in this weird world of ours may just happen. This should not discourage you to use it, just saying.. You break it, You fix/replace it.

I'll still help you with your device (tech help mostly), if you need anything PM me. (probably only/fastest response)

I may be wrong, but I think its due to not replacing the stock binary file with the modded binary file. I'm trying to find it online but krylon's site no longer hosts the file...

Make sure you guys are extracting the the zip and putting the extracted recovery into the system/bin, not the whole zip.
You can also use the search and find where I reposted sduvicks fakeflash utility. It will install CWM for you.
In V2 eXDialer have force closes

His page on Android Spin? I used to download it from there .. don't know if its stopped working now :/
I tried sduvick's script but it wasn't working for me so I had to push the files myself.

replace the update.zip on the /root of the SD. No Odin required. Rename to update.zip, and place it straight on your SD.
That did not work until after I rooted it using RageAgainstTheCage
Re-upped by me here:
http://www.mediafire.com/?hn5ikyt6xpn8d9x
After doing that, then it allows the update.zip to work without failing signature check.
EDIT: Then I also used SuperOneClick to shell-root.

Ok guys the actual problem here is that there is a file missing that you need to push through to your "/system/bin" folder in your SK's root directory.
The missing file is the custom "recovery" binary file that krylon360 created. After doing so, either by ADB pushing the file or copy pasting it with a root file manager, you may boot into recovery then run the 'reinstall packages' command in the stock recovery. This in turn loads the new recovery.....
ALWAYS CHECK YOUR MOUNTS IN CUSTOM RECOVERY. It will save you an accidental pain in the ass. Trust me.
Mounts should look as follows:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-unmount /cache
-mount /data
-mount /sdcard (this sometimes says it is mounted-- not important)
-unmount /system (MOST IMPORTANT. IF IT DOES NOT READ AS THIS SAYS- THEN FIX THAT AND MOUNT IT BEFORE ANY BACKUPS OR WIPES. YOU WILL GET STUCK IN THE SCRIPT)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I will see if I can host the file in my Dropbox. As for the help, it is available in many older posts already. But a hitting that thanks button couldn't hurt ;D

I would like to say thanks to you all helping out with this. My lack of signing in here has to do with me not even having an Android-powered device anymore. I sold my SideKick and MyTouch together for about $250. I still come back here and look around every now and then, but see that a lot of you guys have it under control. So, once again thank you.:good:
Dear community,
I own a S4 an I'm on Jelly Bean (3.16.401.8). I successfully rooted it via the newest superuser apk. But when I try to remove ANY file under /system (including apps), after a reboot it is mystically restored!!! Where the hell do the files come from? I've searched the entire phone memory but couldn't find anything. Have I missed something? Removing files under ICS was no problem at all.
Thanks for your help

buddy, there is Q/A thread for the same. I think you must use it first. But if you have made it so here is the solution for rooting:
Q. 4) How Can I flash CMW & Root my Galaxy R.?
A. 4) This is something Critical. Just Joking. Its so easy. If you are over GB then flash Superuser zip file(attached) & if you are over ICS then just flash Ardatdat's Kernel V4 or higher. it will automatically Root your Galaxy R. Link for Ardatdat's kernels in dropbox: → Dropbox ←
Also, one can follow this tutorial for Rooting ICS - > {Guide} Rooting Galaxy R on version 4.0.4 & for flashing CMW please follow this tut -> [Guide] How to flash stock FW and CWW and Root i9103
Also there is Q/A thread for your all questions(most probably) here → http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1983262
Edit: Great, MJ used Hammer first.

CWR is not recognizing ZIP files

my problem with CWR and ZIP files
Hello, You can try one of these:
1. Try reflashing CWM v4.0.0.2 via ODIN and check if its recognizing the said zips.
2. Place the zips in a folder inside the internal sdcard and try.

Duplicate thread.
Check. here
Flash ardatdats kernel v4 or higher (download it from here) and youll be done.
And if CWM Recovery is not recognizing zip files..
Dont put it in a FOLDER like
/sdcard/xyz folder/abcd.zip
Put it like
sdcard/abcd.zip
i.e. Directly in the basic folder of sdcard..
NOT in any folder like bluetooth, clockworkmod, android,DCIM etc.
This might solve your issue mate

That's what I did today, but The problem really were those .bins :b
Thanks thanks thanks!
this should fix your problem
Here's how to fix it download this http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2531514&d=1390364984 then unzip it on your moto g and download file manager from Google play the one with the yellow folder after that click the cog on the bar at the top in file manager and click Root explorer then Mount system folders then copy the unziped file from /storage/sdcard0/download to /persist and then after that reboot and your WiFi should work
Could anyone post all files included in /persist ?
Is there the .bin data for mobile data?

Hello what you have to do is boot your phone up root it and use file manager in file manager go to the settings COG and turn on root explorer and mount system RW then copy that file that you didn't no what to do with into the /persist folder and reboot that should fix WiFi for you and when you search for file explorer in Google play its the one with the yellow folder hope this fixes your problem as well
