Jelly Bean - Rooted - Cannot remove system apps?!?! - HTC One S

Dear community,
I own a S4 an I'm on Jelly Bean (3.16.401.8). I successfully rooted it via the newest superuser apk. But when I try to remove ANY file under /system (including apps), after a reboot it is mystically restored!!! Where the hell do the files come from? I've searched the entire phone memory but couldn't find anything. Have I missed something? Removing files under ICS was no problem at all.
Thanks for your help

There is a zip file to flash in recovery called Easy_InitD_1.1.zip and then you'll get full root! I attached it for you.

Nope! And even if u do, it might not work on the new ROM. Try asking the person on that ROM to extract it for u.

You are a bit wrong there. Do you still have the install package (.zip) for the rom? If so, download WinRAR.
Now open the zip, and open system. Open app, and copy out the .apk for the app you want.
Hope this helps!

I was able to root my phone successfully and everything I was downloading rooted apps so I download pimp my beats and Dolby mobile well some how it messed up all my audio I couldn't hear a thing so I tried factory reset and then tired uninstalling them and that didn't work so then I went online and downloaded the original boot and recovery.img I tired flashing the but then when I do it comes to the clockworksmod like if it needs a rom or something then when I try installing a ROM it ends up aborting. it ends up getting stuck on the start up with red lettered warning I need someone to help me please get it back to the original state like when first get it out of the box. I want to install the original kernel the original rom and get my sound back on. Or at least so I can fix it to get my warranty valid again so I can get a new one. I need help asap if additional info is needed let me know. do you have any idea why I cant hear phone calls coming in or outgoing, my music or youtube all sounds i can't hear. I know that. I moved the backup on the computer and when I put it on my sd so I could restore it. It didn't work it says no file found do you know where I can download the Original Stock Rom and when i try starting it up it go's to a black screen with a green arrow pointing towards the found then it goes to the phone with a red triangle with a red exclamation point. What is that?
If your backup is not recognised you have put it in the wrong folder i think. So tell us, where the files are on your sd card.

+1 on that, if you have one it'll be recognized as long as it is in the right folder, and made with the same recovery.

So i put the backup in the CWM folder but it tells me no file found so what do I do? Can I go to some website to download the original stock Rom and kernel I need to fix my phone asap so can you please tell me exactly what I need to do. Plus what are those symbols i describe in my last reply. Thanks so much for assisting me I appreciate it.
The files must be in folder: clockworkmod/backup/2013-04-01.18.46.58
The last folder is the date it was created.
The symbols mean, your flash has failed.
What if that doesn't work

If your backup don't work, i know there is a Stock cricket jb back here in One SV Forum. Others flashed this successfully.
Otherwise i'm running out of ideas.

Then using fastboot I go ahead and open up CWM? Will it work on any version of CWD? Thanks so much for getting that file for me and what do I do after its flashed? Like as from being to end what are the steps sorry for all the questions but thanks for everything.
Unzip it. Go into Clean JB Crkt 2.04.1050.3 folder and copy the clockworkmod to your external sd.
Then boot into cwm and choose restore and choose the backup.

Hey man I download that file but its not in zip its in Rar. so I just move the file on to my external sd out in the open not in a folder and I opened up my CWM from the install zip from sd card and that didn't work then I went to restore and it could find the file both times so how do I install it? Do I have to put it in a certain folder or something? It keeps saying no file found. Thanks
Don't copy the zip directly.
What you could do is make a backup, see where it is on your sd, replace it with the one from the zip and then restore that one.
So Noob17_Me, flash this rom from here.

Yea but what im trying to say is that the file I downloaded isn't in zip form. So how am I supposed to install it on CWM?
Sorry but what is so difficult to understand? The rar is not for flashing, its a cwm backup and if you unrar it you have a folder Clean JB Crkt 2.04.1050.3, inside you find a folder clockworkmod.
This clockworkmod folder you have to copy to SD, like it is and and boot into recovery and choose "restore".
And my zip is made from this backup, so it are the same files!

If it was a zip file, yes.
You could also look in the /system/ folder and see if there is an apk file to install it, but then it installs as a user app (in /data/app) instead of a system app (/system/app).
Also, you will most likely need to re-install this each time you install a new version of KatKiss if you install it with recovery.
Do you have a link to where you got this from? If you do it would make it easier to help.

[Q] Aurgent Dead ML1

Hi everybody
My nephew has a Samsung sch-i535 with an ML1 baseband rooted with the saferoot method .He had the hotspot activation problem. I had it in my S4 sch-i545 and I fixed it using this method :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2512981
I have searched a lot to find a fix for his problem but I couldn't find a fix . I thought to give my method a try so,I made a copy of his system original (framework-res.apk) and tried to change it with the one I fixed my phone with.If it doesn't fix the problem , I will return the original one. Unfortunately, the phone restarted and hanged on the Verizon entry logo that comes after the (Samsaung SIII) bootscreen (I will attach a pic )
What about flashing the Rom again with odin????
Please help .I don't know what to do

Yes it was fixed . If u have a custom recovery , just download this zip file in the link below and install it from the recovery

If u have a knox bootloader and a stock recovery just download this file:

[Q] Help? Accidently deleted People APK?

Hey guys,
I think I accidentally deleted the people system APK?! I can no longer save contacts. Wondering what the best way to fix this issue would be without flashing back to stock rom. I am currently rooted and running stock 4.4.2 KK, but I have made a lot of MODS and am running the Galaxy Gear Manager for my watch which is a huge process to get running that I don't want to have to repeat.
Any help is mucho appreciated!!!
If you can find the apk somewhere install that. Otherwise flash the system.img from the factory image.

No, it'll reinstall all the system files. If you modified any of them you'll lose that but I doubt you modified any. This will only work if your bootloader is unlocked. If it isn't then you'll lose everything unlocking it.

Do you still need help with this? It's not that difficult to just pull the app and move it into the right system folder. Once you do that, change permissions to match the other apps, and reboot, you should be back to normal. I'll post the apk if you need it.

He might not be in a situation where he can download a large file like a complete rom. He did mention being at work. Anyway, these should work:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/9903887/Apps/Contacts.apk
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/9903887/Apps/Contacts.odex
If you are deodexed, let me know, and don't use just the apk ^ there or it will force close constantly.
Just use a file manager that has root access (ES File Manager is a good, free choice, if you don't have another) and move the app and odex file to:
/system/priv-app
Make sure to change the permissions. The 3 Read options should be checked and the first Write option. If you aren't sure, just read the permissions of another app in that folder and match it. Then just reboot and should be back to normal.
