Hey,
Does anyone know a way to turn off the Launcher going into landscape mode with the keyboard open? ADW launcher has an option in its settings, but I would like to know if it can be done with any other launcher (eg. stock or LauncherPro). I would like the launcher to stay in portrait.
Just curious which ROMS support rotated home screen.
I know Darky, and Perception did, but just installed serendipity and it doesn't seem to support that feature.
This is a ROM feature or a module or app I can install to enable it.
If so, names of ROMS or apps would be appreciated it.
Thanks
All roms have screen rotate, if it was not working, bad flash
I don't mean ability rotate the screen. I mean a rotated home screen.
Some ROMS, will have a verticle HOME screen, and some ROMS will when rotated will display the HOME screen in Landscape mode, with the launcher on the side.
Got you, not rom specific, launcher specific. I use adw, has that feature, not all do. I am not sure which launcher serendipity uses
Have you tried a market launcher such as launcher pro or adw? Their home screens can be set to rotate in their settings no matter which rom you are using.

Thanks guys, much appreciate the help.
Adw launcher is perfect.
It has absolutely nothing to do with your ROM, just what launcher you use.

I just got the Nexus S. Before installing CM 7 i tried out the stock launcher with a live wallpaper running. I was surprised at how smooth it was and that it had a very nice way of scrolling through the app drawer. After installing CM7 and launcher pro plus i noticed that opening the app drawer wasn't as smooth with a live wallpaper running and it didn't have the nice way of scrolling. Launcher pro has many more features but the stock did have that smoothness. Is there anyway to get this on launcher pro?
You could try playing with the settings and see if you can normalize it.
There are other alternatives to launchers if you like.
ADW Launcher EX (Paid), ADW Launcher (Free), GO Launcher EX, and more.

not sure what you mean by normailzing. also i would like to use launcher pro only. thanks!
Launcher pro is almost always smoother than stock launcher. But with live wallpaper I know what you mean with the choppy app drawer. Only solution is use static wallpaper instead.
damn that sucks..thanks anyways
The only launcher where the app drawer stays smooth with a live wallpaper selected is the stock launcher, all the other ones get choppy.

Here is a thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=933517 it's a zip that removes adw and add stock launcher
Stock launcher is the only one that can use hardware acceleration therefore it will always be faster/smoother than any 3rd party launcher.
with the exception of UD Launcher which was used in nscollab for only two releases. Loved it because it was just as smooth and basically the same as the stock launcher but gave you more home-screens and a 5 button dock option and saved a lot of battery even!!!
But then again I guess it is based directly on the stock launcher - at least that'd be my guess.

yes it does, only on the nexus s so far with gingerbread. other phones it is powered by the CPU like normal. i guess google wanted to take advantage of the nexus s powerful hardware. just wish they did it for the rest of the phone, like the web browser, etc.
Yes that's true. Stock Launcher is smoother than ADW, ADW EX and LauncherPro.
I realized that a few weeks ago.
How do i enable the stock launcher? I downloaded Gingerbread Launcher from the market? is that the same thing?
Hey guys, I have done a lot of googling but can't seem to find a solution. I'm running Paranoid Android 3.60, so I can have an AOSP android 4.2.2 rom while keeping the 4.1 tablet UI. Only problem is the stock launcher and trebuchet even with the DPI and size played with still have a dock on the bottom like the phablet UI. Apex launcher has an option to use Tablet UI so i get what I want, but Apex doesn't have the play store icon in the corner of the app drawer like stock launchers do. I know this is being really picky, but I really want a stock launcher with the 4.1 Tablet UI. How can I achieve this? Is there somewhere I can download the 4.1 Tablet UI launcher for android 4.2.2 or something?
Thanks in advance for any replies!

try nova launcher
Hi
Out of curiosity, which launchers do you guys use and why is that the best?
I mainly used Nova Launcher, but just changed to Smart Launcher.
Also, which launcher do you find the most power efficient?
