s-off and root - HTC One Mini

Hi,
I´ve got a question about rooting my internetional one mini, on the internet I found this http://rootwiki.net/en/android-unlock-anleitungen/472-htc-one-mini-bootloader-unlock-tutorial/ and this http://rumrunner.us/instructions/ , what tutorial should I choose ? I´m running on official 4.3 version and I want to have Hybrid- One rom.:good: Thank you !

Hi i used this guide ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2601741) to unlock bootloader, root and install custom Rom but the link you have posted seems fine. I personally used ramrunner to s-off as it was very simple to use and managed to do so without any issues, however i would read this first (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2612312) so you know what your getting yourself in to. @tr1gg3r84 hybrid rom is awesome but you dont need to be s-off in order to flash the rom.

okay, so just if I want hybrid rom I only need to unlock boot loader, root and install twrp ?? I don´t need s-off right ? And the article which you sent me is in german language and I can understand nothing. Do u have other in english ? Thank you:angel:

yes, just unlock bootloader and install custom recovery (twrp), you do not need s-off! yes the article in german but chrome should give u an option to translate(or just use the link you posted from rootwiki). ensure you dload the most recent recovery, supersu and rom from the relevant threads on xda.
Everything that you need to know has been posted/answered in the Q&A section on this forum before, so you shouldn't run into any problems.

[Q] Root Questions

Hello everyone,
I am interested in rooting my sensation but I want to stay on stock ROM and do not want to lose OTA updates.
So there are few questions (sorry if they have been asked before but I couldnt find any answers for them on the forum):
1. If I unlock the bootloader the official way that HTC provides via htcdev website, will I be able to root my phone given the phone will stay in S-ON status?
2. If I set S-OFF the way that is described here on the forums, will I be forced to install custom recoveries like clockwork to be able to get root?
I just want everything to stay stock but with root. Also OTAs are important to me.
Thank you,
Yash

- You can't root without S-OFF and a Custom Recovery..
- SuperUser binary files (root) are installed through the custom recovery using a signed su zip file..
- You can't install a custom recovery without S-OFF.
- You can't install OTA updates with a custom recovery.
BUT:
- You can S-OFF (I recommend using Revolutionary).
- Install the su zip file (to give you root access).
- Install your stock recovery again using Android Recovery Manager.
- Now you'll be able to install OTA updates and have root access at the same time. (If you delete any system application, OTA updates will fail though.)
1 Click Root for Sensation?
Is there an APK that will accomplish a 1 Click Root such as the one for the EVO?
'ONE CLICK ROOT for the EVO... a simple .apk file and run it'

Thanks for your answer. Is there any reason why one cannot be developed? What would it be worth if someone developed one? I am sure there any many people who would be willing to pay for this. I for one, would be willing. any takers?

[Q] ChaCha can't Root - Unlock - Etc.

Hello, i am trying to unlock, root my chacha like 2 weeks. I have the latest rom and therefore i can't unlock my phone via HTCDev Unlock. I've even contacted with HTCDev and they said they don't support rooting procedure. I formatted SD to ex2 and ext 3 no chance.. i noticed that many people in the forums facing the same problem as mine. And i think that this is the time to start a topic about it. Any Fixes about this issue?

He didn't even got his bootloader unlocked, how on earth will he flash cwm?
Besides that. Try, to be sure with another email-adress, to ask your question again at HTCdev... but, don't tell them you want to root your device... Than, they'll probably help you out... Or google a way tyo downgrade to an older firmware, which allows you to unlock it.
Are you sure you followed the provided steps correctly? I'd say you check it. I was able to unlock the bootloader without any problems.
I used to face the same issue.
Just ignore Update to Latest firmware part, and Continue unlocking your bootloader .
Just Make sure your HBOOT is 1.0 or more.

[Q] Dev Edition, Unlocked Bootloader Root Question

Hey uys, first off if this is a dupe, my bad. I did a bit of searching and couldnt find a topic that addressed this question specifically for the droid maxx DE.
I have my DE on 4.2.2, never took any updates. I have since unlocked the bootloader, and am rooted.
I wanted to know if rooting this phone with bootloader unlocked was as simple as installing supersu or superuser from the play store? I have heard that with an unlocked bootloader there is no additional steps needed (such as rock/pwn mymoto etc). Can anyone confirm that this is true?
Also does the same apply with KitKat? Am I simply able to root by installing supersu since my bootloader is unlocked?
Thank you and appreciate the help.

It IS simple but not as simple as that. After you unlock you need to flash TWRP, after that in the bootloader menu boot recovery then reboot from recovery and it will ask if you want to install Su, swype to to that and then you're rooted. The same method applies to KitKat.

in theory, yes. I've had an issue with getting root to stick using CWM touch. If you use a recovery other than TWRP and it doesn't work you can always root using TWRP then flash your recovery of choice after.
What is correct CWM recovery for xt1080 ?
I am looking here:
http://clockworkmod.com/rommanager
and here:
http://goo.im/devs/cm
I dont see any of xt1080, or Droid Ultra/Maxx/Mini.
I have a Dev Ed xt1080
On philz site:
http://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition
there is only "moto_msm8960" and no "moto_msm8960dt".
Help
the msm_8960dt is the one you need as i am using the same thing since i have the dev edition also

Thank you for your reply. I know the "dt" version ROM is for this phone, but that isn't the question.
My question is: What is the correct CWM recovery for this phone? Where do I find it?
Thanks

I believe you could install a custom ROM with a stock recovery via sideload but I believe you have to be S-OFF first in order for that to work.
Anyone please feel free correct me if I'm wrong ?

You cannot edit any software with s-on. As of right now, there isn't a way to obtain s-off on 4.4.4. There is a tool called sunshine that, when updated, will s-off and unlock the bootloader. But it will be a couple of months, so until then you are SOL.

Root and unlock?

Hey guys,
i'm getting my xperia z3 on saturday (coming from oneplus one) and planning on installing a custom rom right away. I couldn't find a tutorial how to unlock and root the device. Can someone help me out? Is there even a toolkit?
Thanks!

i also need help for that
Search for "flashtool", download and install. Sony formwares come packed as FTFs, you can make them yourself too using flashtool. Don't update the phone first. Search giefroot, it will root your phone. Search "nut dual recovery" and install it after rotting. After this, never flash FTFs until there's nothing else you can do. Search "xperifirm", it will be used to download latest firmware for your device. "xperifirm will download a bunch of files to a folder and flashtool can use these files to make a FTF. Search "PRF creator" PRF is prerooted firmware. PRF C makes a zip file of latest firmware which you can flash through recovery. Wait till your phone is here, once you are doing it, it will become clearer. Search "Backup TA". This should be first thing to use after you root.
if you want to flash custom roms you will need to unlock the bootloader which will invalidate your warranty
how to root is on the first page of the general thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/general/guide-rootrecovery-how-to-root-install-t3017056
Can i root without unlocking bootloader?
I read, that the picture quality suffers when rooting, or was it unlocking, or both? can custom roms cope with that fact, or will it stay, whatever i flash afterwards?
thanks!
