I've rooted my zte v987 because it has Chinese android only, next Ihave installed on it:
V987 Android 4.2.1 V2.0MOD by BM, after that the 3rd and 4th version also.
Now I have ROM BM 4. Noone solved my problem.
The phone is manufactured August 2013. It works good with 3G also, modem works in mode H or H+. I have tried 3 networks in my country and it works, anyway there is a network in my country which has voice/messages disabled and has roaming for data, the network is only for data service, no voice/message, this network works on my huawei and it works also on another v987 (probably version with another "baseband", I guess)
My V987 cannot connect to the network.
I have made a log from logcat
logcat -b radio -v threadtime *:V
There is that log:
paste.ubuntu.com/6819394/
The radio had been disabled, I had enabled it, the v987 tried to connect and failed
The network is called "FullName is Aero2", numeric "mccmnc = 26017, pnn = Aero2'
For comparison
There is a log from connecting to the network
[GsmSST0] long: Plus short: Plus numeric: 26001
full success, and the phone can works on 3g h+ mode, above 9mbit/s works
paste.ubuntu.com/6819381/
Ask any question, about more logs, etc if you want.
probably the problem started here, the aero2 26017 network which does not work, which needs dataRoaming:

Fellow XDAers,
I'm trying to setup my prepaid WAP data plan with the G1, but I fail (no network connection happens). This is one of those data plans that the carrier offers a low cost but restricted service, allowing you to browse the web, etc, only through its proxy. In my case it is the greek "Wind plus non stop" (similar I think to the T-Mobile t-zones).
I'm 99% sure that the settings I use are correct, as I have been using them for years and with many different phones (HTC Kaiser, Samsungs, Nokias, SEs). Plus I have tried many variations in the settings...
So, do any of you have a similar problem? Are there any known bugs related?
This is a snippet from logcat that keeps repeating... I don't see other lines that seem relevant.

Perhaps, I have to manually set the DNS settings.... (goes off to find how to do that)...EDIT: no success.
Rereading the log, the login into the server seems OK as the ipAddress is changing, but the connection is not alive.
Looks like issue 1030 on cyanogenmod. It seems that eclair completely ignores proxies.
hm, not sure if it's the same issue. In my case, no data connection seems to be established (no "G" or "3G" icon on status bar) and trying the browser just complains that no connection is present.
An if your comment about Eclair is correct, the issue goes from bad to worse
Thank your for the reply!!
Hopefully these will be useful if someone messed up theirs. Eventually after I update/root I will post any changes.

Awesome thanks!
Swyped from my EVO via XDA app
When you root your PRI will roll back to 1.34
There is quite a few obvious entries that are missing on a rooted evo with 4g working.
Hmm
Interesting
James
added wimax data settings after applying OTA update
Thanks for this, it was a big help!
I had screwed with some settings and ended up not remembering what they were
Can some post the screen shots/info for the other settings under data plz, looking for default unmodified ones.
I thought these were the default unmodified settings?

I would recommend flashing whitslacks rooted oem to make sure all the radios and such are up to date.

Once its all working from there, then you can try out other roms if you desire.

Just FYI: If you change the WIMAX_scan_attempt_Timeout - the only valid entries are 5-300, so you won't be able to restore the default value of "1"
updated with froyo OTA defaults
only change noticed was
wimax_scan_retrys = 120 (from 300)
...and the update resets all values that were manually changed.
Question: How would the MN HA SPI Set and MN AAA SPI Set values be changed from Enable (stock) to Disable? I was checking speed downloads tonight on my Evo and my wife's and noticed are settings are different, but I didn't change my values manually something else did... All other settings are consistent.
Both phones are rooted and running MikFroyo 4.5.
I tried to google what those settings are even for, but didn't have much luck. Any help would be appreciated.
Question: What are the MN HA SPI Set and MN AAA SPI Set values for?
I was comparing download speeds on my wife's Evo and mine tonight after the latest PRL update and noticed our settings are different.
Her phone shows both values as Enable and mine show Disable. I have no idea how mine got changed.
I tried to google search but didn't find anything helpful. Any help would be appreciated.
Edit: Both of our phones are rooted and currently running MikFroyo 4.5.
Is there a way to disable 4G? My 4G keeps turning itself on and I *DONT* want it on EVER AGAIN.
SOLVED: Chaged 4G MAC to 00:00:00:00:00:00 and now it doesn't connect and after a few attemps it idles. Still haven't checked how much the battery drains... Another solution is to change the RSA key just 1 character will make it not connect. (both the MAC & RSA keys can be edited in wimax.img)
Hi All,
Currently iam using Android Lollipop 5.0
There is a question i would like to ask and i dont know if it is easy to fix...
There is a (bug) in the Android software that causes a problem, my Nexus thinks its always roaming... If i disable "Data Roaming" i have no Data connection if iam in my own country, if i enable roaming i can use my Data Connection... (It roams national), it has something to do with the virtual provider iam connected to (Telfort-NL).
I did a logcat on my device (radio) and what iam seeing is the following:

My device thinks its roaming... on a network that is in the same country.......... (OMG GOOGLE).
So... my question to you is, is there someone that can PLEASE fix fix this issue with a tweak? (i know there are very much people that have the same problem).
I dont have the programming skills to do it myself..... so i must ask a developer for this.
Greetz from Holland
I have edited a stock framework to fix this for Telfort. Check this topic: http://forum.xda-developers.com/goo...od-loose-roaming-r-mvno-home-network-t2969702
So I was running cm11 m12 on my xt925, using the moto_msm8960_jbbl build. I noticed that kitkat was finally available for fido/rogers so I decided to rsd to stock jellybean and upgrade to kitkat ota just to be up to date with the bootloader. Update was sucessfull, everything worked fine, but I wanted to go back to cm.
I started with the m12 moto_msm8960 build, got to the setup part of cm, add google acount etc, everything freezes then reboots. After trying a few times it seemed it crashed at different places. Formatted, tried the newest nighty, same issue. Tried an earlier version from when jbbl and kkbl were part of the same build, same issue. I moved on to dhackers cm12 build, slimkat, other cm11 builds, all with the same issue. I started to believe it had something to do with my wifi radio, so i disabled it via adb on boot, tried the same with data, no success. Cant rsd back to stock jb now either. Perhaps what I captured with logcat before my phone rebooted might mean more to someone with more knowledge and know how.

I had dhackers new aosp lolipop running for about five minutes at a time, but had the same problem. I figured out that removing two lines in the stock xml file would let me downgrade to stock jellybean as a temporary solution.
To me, this looks ROM related rather than device. I assume you did a clean flash? Wiped everything before installing either? What gapps did you flash?
Yes wiped everything every time. I used the appropriate gapps for every single install, sometimes skipping it completely just to see if it made a difference, no difference. Like I said in my original post, I even tried slimkat with the same issue. I even tried different versions of twrp and philz recovery (couldnt get any cwm to work with the new bl) to no avail. Im back on stock kitkat now, going to keep with it for now as i'll be heading out of town for work for awhile, i'll try again when I return.
I wonder if this is related to that sdcard permission fix I saw rolling around the forums. Clearly it has a permission issue of some kind. I myself didn't run into this issue but I do remember seeing the fix I mentioned in the CM11 thread but can't remember who posted it.
Its a possibility, although I did remove my SD card at one point as well.

The reference in your log to /storage is the internal SD, can't remove that Search the CM11 thread, you'll find the flashable fix, see if it helps.
I'll have a look, thank you for your help, much appreciated.

Can someone help me?
I was using CM11 JBBL version
I tried to flash CM12 and I've got an error. Then i was after a fix of it in XDA and found this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/dro...tutorial-make-motorola-razr-hd-xt925-t2916465
After updated my Razr HD to KKBL, I've flashed TWRP 2.8.2.1 from dhacker tweet:

I got this error message while flashing the recovery:
(bootloader) Variable Not Supported --- But TWRP booted fine.
Tried to flash some CM12 or CM11 ROMs from TWRP and didn't worked. CM12 got boot loop (1h waiting and nothing...) and CM11 don't boot.
I tried to use the mfastboot to flash again the TWRP, i've flashed also TWRP 2.8.2.0 and CWM 6.0.4.9, and got no error message this time.
All recovery booted fine, but any solved my problem.
I've tried to flash:
CM11 20140218-NIGHTLY
CM12 20150121-NIGHTLY
CM12 20150120-NIGHTLY
CM12 20150115-NIGHTLY
CM12 moto_msm8960 KBBL
none worked, all CM12 got the same issue... boot loop

Can someone help me?
I was using CM11 JBBL version
I tried to flash CM12 and I've got an error. Then i was after a fix of it in XDA and found this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/dro...tutorial-make-motorola-razr-hd-xt925-t2916465
After updated my Razr HD to KKBL, I've flashed TWRP 2.8.2.1 from dhacker tweet:

Well, after some tries still didn't worked until I flash another Custom ROM (MoKee MK44.4-moto_msm8960-150118-RELEASE)
Mokee booted fine in KitKat (and finally my phone was working again). I've performed a backup of it and tried to flash again CM12 and ... WORKED :victory:
Booted the CM12 and just after a couple of minutes it showed me kind of a notification (was performing a update) before it boots the launcher.
When the laucher booted, it was working, until I see that Gapps wasn't installed. Did the Gapps installation and booted fine again.
Tried to download an app from Store and there was no keyboard installed this time. Downloaded a keyboard apk, mounted the SD on PC to transfer and install and the "stock" keyboard started to work, but was no phone signal. CM wasn't recognizing my SIM.
So I've downloded the last Nightly version (feb. 22, 2015), flashed, botted and it's working fine now.
Going to test it for now

I'm also attaching the Battery historian bugreport.zip to get a better insight of what is happening to my phone, upload it here:

Already tried Clean flashing Oreo and Pie
Already tried different basebands trough fastboot
Maybe this LOS 16 commit is related?:
https://review.lineageos.org/#/c/LineageOS/android_hardware_ril/+/225739/
@jrior001 Can you confirm that this is a LOS related bug or not?
Also find Screenshots of my battery stats.
I'll be super glad to offer a beer to anyone who helps me in resolving this situation.
you are going to have to unbrivk the device which means resetting it back to defaults by going back to colour os i will hunt through the link for you

is this a confirmed solution? it will take me half a day to set up everything again and last thing i want is to not solve the problem, btw i'm also noticing this:
after messing up a little bit more with RADIO, im now noticing that maybe the problem is just in the MISURATIONS done by android itself, like if the system is doing normal but the battery stats wrongfully reporting the always on radio. In logcat sometimes i see this:
BatteryStatsService: no controller energy info supplied
BatteryStatsService: modem info is invalid: ModemActivityInfo{
mTimestamp=0 mSleepTimeMs=0 mIdleTimeMs=0 mTxTimeMs[]=[0, 0, 0, 0, 0]
mRxTimeMs=0 mEnergyUsed=0}
What do you think this means?
I know this bug, too. It may appear as a misinterpretation of data in the battery stats, sometimes it is real, though. If Google Services access to the system settings is restricted, and you face about 1.5-2% battery drain in 1 hour - you are fine, no matter what battery statistics show (the measurements may in the same time show about a half of your battery juice spent on radio). My solution is to do the following:
1) clear Google Apps cache and data and delete Google account from Settings
2) clear cache in recovery
3) re-add your Google account
4) setup AccuBattery and check idle drain percentage
5) if it doesn't work - go back to stock COS (optional, I just advise it as it is really battery-friendly, at least for me it serves better than Sultan's LOS)

So i fired up BetterBatteryStats and let it run for the past weekend. I get a constant Screen-off discharge rate between 1.5% - 3.0% drain per-hour on LTE with good signal. The android battery stats page and even battery historian continue to report an huge amount of mobile radio active, but i'm really start to thinking that the bug is just on the reporting side, since the drain feels normal. ALSO i'm on a battery that according to accubattery is now at 2400mah because of it being quite old.
The only questioin that remains open is: why the android battery stats page started to be bugged? I check it daily and it never acted like that.
