All right, 1st of all let me apologize if I'm creating a thread to which one or more already exist. Now, a brief breakdown of the situation I am, or rather, put my self in. A couple of months ago, I bought my HTC from someone. It was locked to Rogers ( Canadian HTC ONE ), and I decided to unlock it, because well, I wanted to. Everything was fine and dandy until I finally lost my $#!t when HTC failed to release the update it promised. So I decided to root my phone and install a custom rom into in. Also, I was not a big fan on Blinkfeed. I choose cynogenmod and was happy with it until a few months later, I realized that if I let the phone die completely, It would take 3 days ( YES.... 3 F%^$*NG DAYS ) for it to boot back up. I figure its a defect. Read about other with the same problem. Anywho, I thought if I updated to the latest firmware, It would fix the bugs and glitches the phone had before. Long behold, GAPS was not natively installed on the latest update and I went ape ****. The very retard me, freaked out and tried to downgrade to the old software and it made it worse. Long story short, I went into clockworkmod, factory reseted, erased cache and a whole bunch of other $#!t that basically sealed the lid for my HTC one. Now when I try and boot my phone up ,It goes through a never ending cycle of booting, then shutting down, rebooting into recovery, shutting down, rebooting, shutting down, rebooting into recovery etc etc etc... You get the jist of it im hoping. And if i plug it into the computer, It says " USB device is not recognized or has malfunction". What to do Ooooooo what to do guys???? Any help will be appreciated. Pls and thanks,

I'll go ahead and admit that, yes, I'm completely new to the rooting and rom world, but I read a thread about a 1-click app and downloaded it. I followed (or so I thought) the directions to a tee and my phone isn't working now. I downloaded the GSB 2.5 and had that on my sdcard. I rooted my phone (and a screen appeared saying it was rooted) and then I rebooted the phone and flashed the GSB rom as it said to do. It was on the cyanogen screen for over an hour, recycling and I finally pulled the battery out when others said it only took 5-10 minutes for them. So I repeated the process as others have said to do, but it's still doing the same thing. I'm going insane now. I put everything into that phone and really cannot afford to lose it all. I thought I backed up everything, but I can't tell now. Please tell me I didn't "brick" my phone. What should I do? I even tried to go back to the factory setting, but it keeps going through the cyanogen thing again. I have no idea what to do now and desperately need help from those who actually know what they're doing. Anyone know what to do and can describe this to someone who doesn't really get all the lingo???
Hello Forums,
OK, for starters, I am a total newbie to phone unlocking/rooting/modding/ect. And it has started out on a sour note. A few days ago, my mother gave me her old Mytouch 4g that she didn't need anymore so I could test ROMs out on and just generally experiment with it. So, excited, I turned off the phone and went to bed. When I woke up the next day, eager to start testing with the phone, to my dismay, I couldn't power on the phone, nor could I boot into recovery mode, or do ANYTHING for that matter. Confused, I plugged the phone into my PC. and to my absolute horror, the computer "Could not find the correct drivers for device 'QHSUSB_DLOAD' ". Now remember, I haven't so much as touched the phone before now, and I really doubt that my mom was playing around with the bootloader at work. So why the heck is it id'ng itself as a Qualcomm Hi-Speed USB device? Since I'm a noob, I wanted to consult people who actually know what they're doing before I tried anything, So what do you guys think I should do? :crying: Remember, this phone has never been messed with, it has everything stock from the factory loaded on it. P.s, this isn't the HTC version, this one is made by LG, the serial is LGE739. If you need any more info just ask me. Many thanks guys!
So yeah I dont really know crap about most things, so I need help to prevent me from having to buy a new phone.
So a few days back my XT907M got the new 4.4.2 update. It worked fine for a couple days then it went into a boot loop. It had done this a few weeks before the update but it snapped out of it somehow.
It will not let me go into recovery mode, but I could get it to go into fastboot, so I did some googling and decided to try my hand at reflashing it. I had trouble getting my PC to verify a connection to the phone. I tried getting different drivers, but again i dont know what the hell im doing so i had not luck.
I took the phone to a place called World of Wireless here in Minneapolis to see if they could fix it. They told me that they went in and deleted two bad lines of code, but since the new fastboot files arent available for 4.4.2 that there was nothing they could do because the phone will not let them go backwards.
is there anything I can do, or am I just going to have to buy a new phone?
Sorry if I posted this in the wrong place.
Last week it started and I was able to fix it but with a different stock rom. I also couldn't restart it or else it would go back into the loop. It is a Metro PCS G930T. I had to flash it with T-Mobile firmware as the only Metro firmware was for the G930T1. Now I downloaded that G930T1 firmware, but I'm not sure if I would be able to do it as it is a different model. I just don't like the UI of the T-Mobile one and want my old one back. This is only the second time it restarted by itself since the first boot loop but this time it's stuck again. I really don't want to have to wipe data every single week. Even though most of my stuff is synced I still have to go through settings every time and set it up again. I don't know how Samsung gets away with this either. They purposely engineer their products to stop working after 1-2 years. Straight up consumer fraud especially when they refuse to fix it while still under warranty.
Do you have solid proof of this allegations?
what are you talking about? I am just trying to get advice on what to do, not get into an ethical debate.
You said: consumer fraud.
That's asking for help?
Stick to the point.
yes. stick to the point. stick to answering the main question. don't mind the rant if you don't understand it.
Are you an Apple fan boy?
Edit what you said about Samsung, and I'll answer you.
And go drink your milk and go to sleep. You must be a ten-year-old.
You come here to seek help, not to rant.
Rant in your own home.
Are you using any sd card? I had a bootloop issue due to corrupted sd and when i ejected it and reboot phone worked like nothing had ever happened
Hi all!
This is new to me so I would like to apologise in advanced for this. I hope I've put this on the right section.
Go easy on me, I'm out of ideas.
Short Story
Unrooted HTC One XL is stuck in bootloop from failed software update. Phone has been in an infinite bootloop since 2013. Phone can be booted to HBoot mode.
Loss of data is not an option. Would rather the paperweight.
Google image of what is visible at HBoot attached. (Not my image)
Long story
I have my mothers HTC One XL (Telstra Aus), I've seen various name versions but this is the one the phones telling me so we'll go with it.
During a software update back in 2013 something happened which in turn messed up the update. God knows what. The phone has been in an infinite bootloop ever since. We had it sent away through our provider (Telstra). They basically shrugged their shoulders and returned it.
My mother couldn't care less about the phone itself, It's the photos.
The phone does not have usb debugging on, Is not rooted, nor can it boot to turn it on. Obviously.
After quickly getting sick of waiting for it to die before trying again the phone has been opened and battery is now "removable".
Cache cleared, reboot, soft restarts....Nothing.
Every year or so I scour the internet looking for a hail mary that may have come along. Dr Fone would be good if it catered to "Broken" htc's not just samsungs.
So I guess my question is, is there by any chance something new has come along on order to either retrieve the photos from the device? Or, different methods in which to get the phone out of its bootloop so the phone can be accessed that way? Without the loss of any data.
Sorry if this is a bit all over the place.
Thank you in advance.
