unlocking Orange UK Variant by flashing new rom ? - Sony Xperia Miro, Tipo (Dual), J, E

Hey,
I am new to all this however can I ask if its possible to unlock my Xperia E handset which is Orange UK locked by flashing an unlocked firmware on the handset?
Is this possible or have I got the wrong end of the stick?
Thanks

Hi mate, I got my Xperia E from Orange UK Aswell, I am sorry to say it cannot be unlocked by simply flashing a rom. You can unlock it my going to phoneunlockserver.com and pay £10 to get it unlocked like I did. It is a much cheaper way than getting an unlock from orange that will cost you £25.
This way will also give you an unlocked bootloader meaning that you can install custom roms onto your phone!

Hey, I think mentioning this tool was banned on XDA. Something about a forum member who'd been removed or something?

[Q] HTC J ISW13HT - any japanese here?

so the HTC J ISW13HT was released in Japan 10 days ago, and I'm eager to get my hands on it. Only I am not in Japan.
Are there any people in Japan here on the forums that can answer some questions for me?
Is the phone locked to au? And does the phone in fact support GSM sim card at all? I know it has a card slot but since au is CDMA I wonder if the phone accepts sim cards (it has GSM functionality).
cheers

Hmm, I suppose when I get my hands on one, I'll be able to answer this question. I'll try to stop by an au shop to poke around one of their display models.
I'm assuming the phone is locked to au, though.
nice, thanks. Does au sell phones without contract at all?

I think you can purchase the phone outright but to get it unlocked you'll have to pay for the unlocking fee which is about ¥3000. Even then, I dunno if it has a removable sim card

Any more info?
It's been about a month now since this was posted, any new info?
I live in Japan and have the phone, but can't find much info for Root yet (in English at least) or Sim Unlock if it's possible or not.

Have you downloaded the ruu for it?
If you get that you can probably add su and busy box to it and maybe look at the one s threads for a root method

It does support GSM/CDMA/WCDMA/WiMAX
But the GSM/WCDMA function seemed to be locked by AU.
You could not use GSM/Wcdma network when you insert a GSM/Wcdma Usim.
I have this phone, unlocked the bootloader, root, but can't make sim free.
I can't post links, only after 10 posts.
I have translated scripts for one click root.
Does anyone know sim unlock is possible for this phone?
Now the J is also in the market of HK and Taiwan. Hope someone can cook ROM for us.

I made ROM for J based on MIUI for One S. But I still can't unlock simlock.(
Taiwan versions of J does not have simlocked.

There is a hack. It uses radio from Taiwan version of HTC J (not simlocked).

Anyone can translate this into English? Seems a fair amount of info in Japanese, but nearly nothing in English... Google translate works very poorly from Japanese, don't really trust it for this.
Also, once you've flashed the radio from the Taiwan version, does it still work on AU? I don't want to change carrier to Docomo/Softbank, but I want to use local sim cards when I travel.
So whats the steps to unlock this little guy?

[Q] Unlocking my Xperia X10i running Cyanogenmod

Hi all,
Have a quick question...
I have an SE Xperia X10i and have Cyanogenmod 7.2 running on it. It is currently locked to Orange (UK) and I want to unlock it so I can use a different network. I took it to an unlocking shop and they said that their unlocking software wouldn't work with it because it has a custom rom.
My question is, if I was to buy an official unlocking code from Orange and entered that - would it successfully unlock the handset. I can understand why the software wouldn't work with the custom rom but surely the code will work!?
Thanks in advance...

[Q] Not managing to get Xperia J into fastboot

Hey all!
How can I get Bootloader unlocked "Yes" in the cellphone? Mine says "No"

Not to be a pain, but to be honest that's not that explicit, since most posts talk about the bootloader unlocker, yet, almost none mentions that. And it's just not clear enough :\
But thank you very much, now I know
Just being curious, in what conditions a Xperia J comes with the "Yes" on Bootloader Unlocked?
That depends of where you buy it. I bought it a t-mobile on 2 year contract so it was sim locked (it works only with T-mobile) and with bootloader unlocked allow No. if you buy it from mobile shop it should be with bootloader unlocked Yes. So as I anderstand if you sim unlocking should get bootloader unlock Yes, but I haven't found free way to sim unlock it. I hope this helps

[Q] Sim Unlock Xperia Z3 D6616

I recently purchased a T-mobile Xperia Z3 D6616 with the hopes of using it internationally but it seems it can't be unlocked traditionally by entering unlock code. When inserting a non t-mobile sim there is no prompt to enter unlock code. Since i am not a T-mobile customer i can not utilize the "Device Unlock" app that comes pre-installed on the ohone. So my question is... Is there any other method of sim unlocked the T-mobile branded Xperia Z3 D6616?
Try flashing a generic ftf and see if it asks you for a unlock code
Thanks for your response. I actually tried to flash the generic d6603 ftf but to no avail. Just got back a lot of errors in flashtool. Do you know if the have a generic ftf for the d6616?

As far as I know no, espescially since bootloader in also not unlockable yet, only way is to be on contract with the phone on T-Mobile for at least 45 days. Also you are better off getting other versions of the Z3 as they support a lot more LTE bands.
Thanks for your response. I guess i'll try contacting T-mobile customer service to see if they can offer any advice.
Thanks again.
Are you a T-Mobile customer in the US going on trips or did you just buy it to use it in your home country?
Purchased it for use in the West Indies but looks like I won't be able to use it after all.
Better return it and get the international version. Even in US D6603 is the unlocked version.
The D6616 has only 3 LTE bands and may not be compatible in your area, for LTE service. Only advantage of the D6616 is that it has 32GB vs 16GB for other versions.
Would it be possible to create a flashable generic ftf for the z3 d6616 by editing some of the files of the generic d6603 ftf?
No
Ok, thanks for your response.
helpme please

Its an over the network unlock. No TMO no unlock. Only way around will be if you root which we can't as of now.
Only way
The only way I managed to unlock it was using the unlock app and meet the requirements from t-mobile to work (like been a t-mobile customer).
when you guys with the unlocked D6616 go to the service menu does it say Bootloader unlock allowed: yes or does it say Bootloader unlock allowed: no. i used the app to unlock and it says no

Hi Guys, While Trying to unlock my D6616 I have Found the File com.android.setting.IccLockSettings, Which not Edit able Currently i have Attached the Screenshots to Show what i am seeing and Doing. My Xperia Z3 D6616 is not Rooted and Bootloader is unlocked too. and i have deleted all T-Mobile Applications and using the Shortcut master I found this File. Please Push me thanks if it helps
hi
i have a d6616 tmobile version and bought the unlock code, non able to input the code, and not able to unlock with the stock app, dual recovery installed and rooted already, is there a way to put the simunlockapp.apk in the system and then using titanium backup pro, to make it internal so after rebooting, simunlock code prompting?
or to flash a rom that prompts the code
or is there any metropcs z3 rom that surely can be flashed even with locked bootloader to tmobile version?
any help
than you very much indeed
On some phones like the Sprint LG G2 there was a work around using root and the HTC M8 using root+SuperCID, but is most cases root won't help with the SIM Lock.
Only thing you can do is, give it to a TMO user for 40 days and then T-Mobile will unlock it, over the air after you call them.

SONY EXPERIA Z3 usa t-mobile

Hi.
I live in Russia.
My English very bad, excuse for it.

It is possible to unlock it?
Why on earth you bought USA version?

I was in USA and I bought.
Sorry not possible because it's unlocked via network.
If there is a boot loader unlock in future it may be possible depending on how the simlock is implemented. HTC M8 requires Supercid to do the Sim unlock though..... LG G2 on Sprint required root and a CDMA tool.

Sony bootloaders have nothing to do with SIM unlock, so a bootloader unlock will not help.
As of now, the bootloader remains unlockable.

Hmm,
The bootloader of a Z3 can be unlocked via the Sony website.
Its only unofficial unlocks that cannot be done
EDIT
Of course the USA variants are all locked down though, but that's T-Mobile or AT&T doing that, not Sony

Just want to say that the US unlocked & unbranded version is the D6603 just like in Europe. You bought one specifically made for a carrier, next time be more careful I guess. I suppose you should sell it back in the US or return it if possible.
The only way I can think of is to mail it back to a usa person. Have them get tmob to unlock it. Mail it back to russia. Not impossible just a pita. Once tmob allows you to put any sim in your set (essentially releasing there grimy fingers from it). Considering how greedy these ****e carriers are, good luck even asking them even if you have a good standing acct.
