[Q] Not managing to get Xperia J into fastboot - Sony Xperia Miro, Tipo (Dual), J, E

Hey all!
How can I get Bootloader unlocked "Yes" in the cellphone? Mine says "No"
Best Regards

You can't unlock if it says No. And next time try to search before posting it's been told million times.

Not to be a pain, but to be honest that's not that explicit, since most posts talk about the bootloader unlocker, yet, almost none mentions that. And it's just not clear enough :\
But thank you very much, now I know
Just being curious, in what conditions a Xperia J comes with the "Yes" on Bootloader Unlocked?

That depends of where you buy it. I bought it a t-mobile on 2 year contract so it was sim locked (it works only with T-mobile) and with bootloader unlocked allow No. if you buy it from mobile shop it should be with bootloader unlocked Yes. So as I anderstand if you sim unlocking should get bootloader unlock Yes, but I haven't found free way to sim unlock it. I hope this helps

As far as I know, you can contact mobile operator vendor that phone "belongs to" and they can give you unlock code.

hello II woud like also to unlock my D2303. I am constantly traveling and usually i by an prepayed sim card on each country for local calls. Can you help me out please?
Thnks in advance.
Didn't think they could charge you if you ask the network for a pac code to unlock it to all networks. Thought it was just third party websites that charged. Is not expensive on the Web about 3 or 4 quid if you shop about online.

You need a pac code from the network it was on(usually free) or you'll need to buy one off eBay/amazon or pay a mobile phone shop that offers the service to unlock it to any network

[Q] Sim Unlock Xperia Z3 D6616

I recently purchased a T-mobile Xperia Z3 D6616 with the hopes of using it internationally but it seems it can't be unlocked traditionally by entering unlock code. When inserting a non t-mobile sim there is no prompt to enter unlock code. Since i am not a T-mobile customer i can not utilize the "Device Unlock" app that comes pre-installed on the ohone. So my question is... Is there any other method of sim unlocked the T-mobile branded Xperia Z3 D6616?
Try flashing a generic ftf and see if it asks you for a unlock code
Thanks for your response. I actually tried to flash the generic d6603 ftf but to no avail. Just got back a lot of errors in flashtool. Do you know if the have a generic ftf for the d6616?

As far as I know no, espescially since bootloader in also not unlockable yet, only way is to be on contract with the phone on T-Mobile for at least 45 days. Also you are better off getting other versions of the Z3 as they support a lot more LTE bands.
Thanks for your response. I guess i'll try contacting T-mobile customer service to see if they can offer any advice.
Thanks again.
Are you a T-Mobile customer in the US going on trips or did you just buy it to use it in your home country?
Purchased it for use in the West Indies but looks like I won't be able to use it after all.
Better return it and get the international version. Even in US D6603 is the unlocked version.
The D6616 has only 3 LTE bands and may not be compatible in your area, for LTE service. Only advantage of the D6616 is that it has 32GB vs 16GB for other versions.
Would it be possible to create a flashable generic ftf for the z3 d6616 by editing some of the files of the generic d6603 ftf?
No
Ok, thanks for your response.
helpme please

Its an over the network unlock. No TMO no unlock. Only way around will be if you root which we can't as of now.
Only way
The only way I managed to unlock it was using the unlock app and meet the requirements from t-mobile to work (like been a t-mobile customer).
when you guys with the unlocked D6616 go to the service menu does it say Bootloader unlock allowed: yes or does it say Bootloader unlock allowed: no. i used the app to unlock and it says no

Hi Guys, While Trying to unlock my D6616 I have Found the File com.android.setting.IccLockSettings, Which not Edit able Currently i have Attached the Screenshots to Show what i am seeing and Doing. My Xperia Z3 D6616 is not Rooted and Bootloader is unlocked too. and i have deleted all T-Mobile Applications and using the Shortcut master I found this File. Please Push me thanks if it helps
hi
i have a d6616 tmobile version and bought the unlock code, non able to input the code, and not able to unlock with the stock app, dual recovery installed and rooted already, is there a way to put the simunlockapp.apk in the system and then using titanium backup pro, to make it internal so after rebooting, simunlock code prompting?
or to flash a rom that prompts the code
or is there any metropcs z3 rom that surely can be flashed even with locked bootloader to tmobile version?
any help
than you very much indeed
On some phones like the Sprint LG G2 there was a work around using root and the HTC M8 using root+SuperCID, but is most cases root won't help with the SIM Lock.
Only thing you can do is, give it to a TMO user for 40 days and then T-Mobile will unlock it, over the air after you call them.

I was in USA and I bought.
Sorry not possible because it's unlocked via network.
If there is a boot loader unlock in future it may be possible depending on how the simlock is implemented. HTC M8 requires Supercid to do the Sim unlock though..... LG G2 on Sprint required root and a CDMA tool.

Sony bootloaders have nothing to do with SIM unlock, so a bootloader unlock will not help.
As of now, the bootloader remains unlockable.

Hmm,
The bootloader of a Z3 can be unlocked via the Sony website.
Its only unofficial unlocks that cannot be done
EDIT
Of course the USA variants are all locked down though, but that's T-Mobile or AT&T doing that, not Sony

Yes, I've watched the video, but the bootloader for the T-mobile variant, D6616, cannot be unlocked.

Just want to say that the US unlocked & unbranded version is the D6603 just like in Europe. You bought one specifically made for a carrier, next time be more careful I guess. I suppose you should sell it back in the US or return it if possible.
The only way I can think of is to mail it back to a usa person. Have them get tmob to unlock it. Mail it back to russia. Not impossible just a pita. Once tmob allows you to put any sim in your set (essentially releasing there grimy fingers from it). Considering how greedy these ****e carriers are, good luck even asking them even if you have a good standing acct.

[Q] Xperia J SIM unlock

I have a Sony Xperia J locked to a network.
First, what can I do to remove the "lock"? If I flash a stock FW (normal version instead of the network company version)? Or can I remove without flashing a fw?
Sorry if this question is somehere answered but I couldn't find nothing "safe" enough for me to risk do something on the phone.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers
You can't unlock it with flashing, you need unlock code to unlock it, or go to some local mobile shops that can unlock phones. There's no free way.
Good Luck.
Xperia M2 D2303 on K.K. 4.4.4
I'm going to risk with this question: is there a way (some guide in xda) to find an unlock code?
Nope. Not XDA, not on net. Sorry. I got mine unlocked when my contract ended.

Buy phone from Vodafone ro

Hi,
Did anyone buy this phone from vodafone ro. They do not have the phone on the test benches and I cannot test if the bootloader is unlockable. I asked and again they won't let me play with the phone before buying it. I played with the xperia x in theirs shop and on this phone the bootloader status says unlockable: no. For me a phone on which I cannot unlock the bootloader is a phone which I can through out of the window... Thanks

If you want to be able to root it and unlock the Bootloader you must buy a sim free network unlocked device(like what you would get from the Sony store) the only network I know of that supply these types of device's is three UK as I use them myself all of there devices have unlockable Bootloaders whether payg or contract. Locked Bootloader root on the xa or all other new Xperias since z3+ will probably never happen, there's currently also no way to back up ta keys on the xa either which is why I'm still currently stock. It's a great device though I'm highly impressed with it
