Is there a way to display the used GSM mode of the Nexus 5?
E. g. GSM900, DCS1800, PCS1900, etc.
There was / is a GSM service menu in Samsung devices (*#0011#). So, Android should be capable to display this.

What are E and G signs appear on the top of screen near the antenna indicator in htc hd2?
according to farres and the forum below:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=415234
3G = Third generation of data connection (within area coverage)
H = HSDPA = High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (using 3G connection)
E = EDGE = Enhanced Data rates for GSM Evolution (2G area coverage, no data connection is performed until you see the connection icon)
G = GPRS = General Packet Radio Service (normal and basic area coverage)
I have 2 htc tytn phones running Windows Mobile. In one phone that i was using before the connectivity was EDGE, which was indicated by the E symbol. Now i have started using the other phone (same SIM card), but the symbol shown in this phone is G, which stands for Gprs, i guess. My operator supports EDGE, so why this other phone can't connect to it? Although internet works fine, but when the data connection is active a small G appears, instead of a small E, which used to appear on the other phone.
Is there anyway to fix it?
