I have been finding it very difficult to find any specific info about rooting, updating and any problem solving period on my MetroPCS SGH-T999N. Now I was under the impression that T-Mobile bought out MetroPCS but there is no real info on that either. This phone as cool as it is will not(and this is really dumb) let me moves App to the SD card. No matter which program I install. I read somewhere that enough S4 users complained and Samsung had their people write an update to fix that. So they say, I can't be 100% sure on that one.

Hi there guys im completely new to this, as only the other day my father told me about rooting my phone and upgrading the software as only now the software on my phone has started to fail me and I think its time for a change.
On the phone its model number is the Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9003 so I'm not entirely sure which phone to choose on the Samsung Android devices on the forums, also I was told there was a noob guide on here on how to root the phone and then being able to upgrade it.
I apologize if I have posted in the wrong area, but any help would be extremely grateful, as my phone keeps switching itself off everything keeps crashing and basically its just acting like a piece of crap.
Thanks again

Hi folks-
Sorry for what might be stupid questions but I'm super excited about this phone, and I just want to get it working right so I don't break it like I did my last one. I am trying to get this to work on T-Mobile in the USA.
I flashed my phone to a stock Gingerbread yesterday, and then flashed a stock ICS on top of it. When I started things up within the ICS OS with my sim card in, it started asking me for a network lock control key.
Ultimately, I need this phone to be in an unrooted state for software I have installed through work (it scans for superuser/root, quarantines you if it finds it). Is there any way I can unlock this phone again - through flashing or software - without rooting the phone?
Or, if I go the "root" route, is there any way that will maintain the software that's in the phone - like, without completely flashing a new OS? And if so, can I disable the software from running while the root is on and the unlock is taking place?
I am happy to clarify any questions - I am learning all about this and am thankful I have a Samsung to work with (since Samsung seems to be simpler than all others) - but I have had little to no success with rooting in the past and so would consider myself a complete novice. I've read through the forums and found similar solutions for Galaxy Note/Galaxy SIII but do not know how applicable they are to this beautiful piece of machinery that is the Galaxy R.
Thanks in advance. Sorry if this is a stupid question
This is really just a curiosity; it isn't causing me any problems, but I wonder about it, and the folks here are probably the most knowledgeable I am aware of. Maybe someone has run in to something similar in the past.
I bought an unlocked Verizon Galaxy S5 (Samsung SM G900V), and rooted it, after reading and studying a lot of information here. It appeared to be new as advertised, and it works just the way it should. I have only used it with one carrier, which is T-Mobile. It has never had any AT&T software on it that I can tell, but this is what it looks like:

Sorry I can't post the actual picture as yet.
Anyone ever seen this?
Thanks.

Ok so here is my dilemma, I have a AT&T samsung galaxy 6, but I have cricket service if that makes a difference. I have tried several methods to try and root my device but nothing seems to work. I'm getting really frustrated and ready to throw in the towel. Can anyone help me out here I'm at my wit's end. All the info you need should be in the picture, if not just ask.
Try and ask here

I'm not seeing a forum for J3 models from 2018, but if I'm wrong please point me there.
Would love to know if anyone has made progress on rooting this model. The other J3 roots seem to depend on having an eng build.
FYI, as with all J3's there are tons of marketing names ('Samsung Galaxy J3 Top' for ATT & Tracfone; 'Samsung Galaxy J3 Orbit' for SimpleMobile; and many others)
I have also been looking for root options.

not likely as Samsung allows MVNO carriers to lock these things down. I have the same issue with a old S5 that is a tracfone branded device. Sadly, with the release of so many devices at so many price points, not many devs give enough of a (insert colorful expletive here) to do anything with them. I wouldnt hold my breath on a $80 phone
I recently got a Tracfone Samsung Galaxy J3 Orbit (S367VL). Bloatware up the ass. Factory configuration does not allow me to uninstall most of it. I can't even shut off the prompts nagging me to update despite un-checking "Auto Update System" under Developer Options. Most sources seem to say this phone can't be rooted. Others give bogus instructions which look like they are meant for other models.
Please help- Is there a way to get rid of all this ****ware Tracfone and Samsung have pre-loaded onto my phone? I never realized what an annoying pain in this ass this could be. Please tell me there's a way to root it, or uninstall the crap. All I want is a clean phone that can call, text, browse the web, and not spy on or nag me. Thank you.
