Sorry for the noob question but, what are the benefits of updating the bootloader? (besides being able to run the latest CAF Roms)

That's pretty much it. There may be the odd security fix or something here and there but they're not covered by change logs so we'll likely never know

Hey there,
I've bricked my OneS after I edited my build.prop.
What I did:
One week ago, I've unlocked my phone via HTCdev and than I flashed TWRP and this rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-s/development/rom-oneplus-one-stock-rom-cm11s-one-s-t2869703
Yesterday, I noticed that my computer does not find my mobile phone and adb is not working.
I thought that this is caused by the build.prop edits which I've done with the Pimp My Rom App so I deleted the modified build.prop file and added the stock file of the rom. After that I tried to restart my OneS but now only the screen htc boot animation with the red text appears and the mobile phone does not boot anymore but I have still axcess to the bootloader and the recovery. Adb doesn't work but fastboot works.
What should I do? I've found this solution: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1630459
But do you think it will work with my problem, because my adb already haven't worked before the brick.
Sorry for my bad english!
Edit: The content of the system folder is deleted
Do you haven't any ideas?:crying:
Have you tried factory reset ?

I could not find my RUU. Can somebody help me my buildnumber was 3.16.401.10 and my hboot version is 2.15
So hi people. I have (or will soon have) a Nexus 6P. But I had a little free time and noticed TWRP was available for this device. So I decided to make a flashable version of the Nexus 5X's latest official factory image.
Downloads:
6.0.0 - MDB08I: LINK
Instructions:
Bro, it's a Nexus device. Nobody needs any instructions...Just flash to your hearts desire.
NOTE:
I do not own the device so I haven't tested it. BUT I am 80% sure it should work. Can some one confirm.
THIS ROM IS AN UNMODIFIED VERSION OF THE STOCK SYSTEM.IMG!!!

I'm doing so right now. So far it is stuck on the Google emblem. I was already on this build and rooted. I am unfamiliar with anything but Samsung devices so please bear with me. TWRP asked if I wanted to root again before I rebooted and I said yes.
Edit: Been ten minutes and still stuck on Google emblem. Going to go back to stock and reroot.

Select no, reboot to recovery and flash supersu.
You don't need anything fancy to flash system.img, just boot to bootloader, and do a:
fastboot flash system system.img
I've done it several times to recover from bootloops after experimenting with /system.

Should I try it again? Is there anyone that can deodex this zip?
Edit: tried again. Same result. Stuck at Google emblem.
deodex, rooted, then exposed and GB^^ can we fast forward a few weeks so I can stop with all this waiting.
I can confirm that flashing this on my 5X results in a failure to boot. I've tried everything from flashing SuperSU to a full system format. I eventually resorted to using fastboot to flash system.img which resolved the issue.
What da heck man? Where's our N5x development? @sykopompos and our Frank N5x ?
Sorry for the nub question, but I'm stuck at the Google screen and I don't see a system.img anywhere in my SDK folder. Is this a separate file that needs to be downloaded? Where can I find this to flash in fastboot?
Screwed up my phone and deleted my rooted image. Does anyone still have this? The person that originally uploaded it is no longer hosting it.
Nevermind, that's not rooted. D:

Don't use LG Firmware extractor. Just use 7zip/winrar/etc. to unzip the file on a PC. Search the forum for the LS996 DLL file, and use LG Flash Tool to flash to your phone.

How about you do that and send me the system image? As I mentioned above, the TOT is useless to me because I cannot flash it, it is not an option. The system image, the one I´ve been begging for on here for months, is what I need. NOTHING else will do, that is why Ive asked, over and over, for months, for this one simple file, one simple task. It would be trivial for someone to fulfill this, but no.
