Not at this moment. GPe Moto G doesn't even have factory images.
I hope we can achieve that soon, anyway, I guess I'm gonna buy it. It's a great device for being that cheap price.

I think Motorola 4.4.2 version is better anyways, the additons they made are non intrusive and actually, kinda useful.
Good to know, man, I'm buying the device in this week.

Hey guys! I was thinking of buying the awesome moto g, and hence I was wondering if moto g is capable of supporting Ubuntu mobile right now? Or perhaps in the near future? I really love Ubuntu hence would love to have it on my phone:laugh:
Ubuntu is typically only ported to Nexus phones, but maybe somebody will try to port it to the Moto G on XDA. I doubt it though.
Wow! That would be awesome!

ubuntu would be cool phone for moto g...
Not going to happen unless some dev wants to spend a **** ton of time porting and making it work for our device. Even the ubuntu team sort of gave up in their own project lol.

I know that Ubuntu mobile is just for nexus but since Google had bought moto and also moto x and moto g gets updates as fast as nexus phones, I was wondering if that was possible....

Well, first Google sold Motorola to Lenovo, so forget about Googlerola. Second, the speed of the updates has nothing to do with the aftermarket development, that's community dependant.

I know that, I was still wondering if it was possible.....and btw are you saying moto g doesn't have a good Dev support, I'd not buy it then :/

Moto g has pretty decent dev support but its not a flagship phone so theres not as many developers as lets say HTC one, S4, etc. In a nutshell, ubuntu phone rom still has a long way to go. I ran it on my nexus 7 and it was not that good. No developer is probably going to take a crap ton of time to port a rom that is barebones. No one would use ubuntu over android....yet

I never said it has a bad Dev support, just said that its community dependant. Somebody (A Dev, or enough people wanting it) has to care enough for Ubuntu touch to port it to the Moto G.
I surely don't care, Ubuntu touch is laggy as hell is right now, not to mention full of bugs.
Jolla team claimed that Sailfish OS will be available for Android phones. I think it's more possible that Ubuntu for Moto G.
ETA
any ETA on ubuntu touch for MotoG
Hi,
I am going to buy a Moto G, but unfortunately the google play edition is sold out right now and I have to get a regular moto g or wait for a couple of weeks. So I'm asking which version of moto g is better and is it worth it to wait for a couple of weeks to get the google play edition?
As far as I know, there isn't really much of a difference.
I would say get the normal Moto G.
There are some pros and cons.
To keep it short, GPE uses ext4 and the G uses f2fs filesystem where it has been reported that f2fs should be faster.
This would be the main reason why i would decide to get the G.
You can remove unwanted system apps but the firmware is already very close to stock.
Just Google for some reviews. Here is e.g. one site which compares G and GPE.
Here and also in other Threads on XDA you can also find some opinions to that topic.
Get the Moto G XT1032 ( international version )
You'll be able to choose between stock or gpe since its the same phone

Are you in the us? Becuase if you are in the us and on t-mobile the gpe will not work
I actually prefer the non gpe version, better camera options and more ROM choice.

This phone is really good, as you said some users has random issues, but if you didn't get those this is the best phone.
But if you already have moto 2014, why you want to change?

Got it. Yes this is the best phone with CM11 waiting for CM12
I would not consider buying a OPO when i can get a LG G3 for just 50 euros more here in Italy, but that's my 0.02€

LG G3 has nothing on this phone in my opinion.
To OP. Get it, you won't regret it.

You won't regret it. Best phone I've ever owned. :good:
The only problem I have with it is the looks.. It's a bit ugly, especially against the 2nd gen moto x

I do not think you would be making a mistake buying the OPO. The possibly only issues you might have are regarding service and a yellow stripe near the bottom but I have read that there are easy work-abouts for that. The features, feel, OS, build quality, performance are all superb.I have had a Samsung S2, S4 and Moto G (2013) and I am thrilled to have this. Also the battery life is superb - now down to 10% with over 46 hours since last charge and screen time of 5h 15m, 45 minutes voice calls and nearly 19 hrs Wifi on.
You should get the OPO, hands down. Most of the issues people have had with the device aren't even relevent anymore, as they have been fixed in software updates months ago. And I'm pretty sure that stuff like the yellow line doesn't even appear in the hardware anymore, and was only apparent in the first couple months. So you can safely ignore those complaints.
If you're comparing the Moto X and the OPO, be aware that the OPO actually has slightly superior specs. But, you know, that's not the best thing about this phone.
The OPO's XDA development scene is, in my opinion, the best thing about this device. Soooo many important developers have adopted the OPO as their next device, like FranciscoFranco and AK. You will see a lot of pleasantly suprised people in the forums, saying things like, "I remember you from the Nexus 4!" and, ”Yay, xxxx is here!”. No other recent device has the same support. Hell, the Moto X forums are a barren wasteland.
If you get an OPO, be prepared to have a lot of fun on the XDA forums. I know I am.
It is worth it. I would buy again.

I have Moto X 2014 and I just purchased the Oneplus for one simple reason... Moto X camera is total garbage. I mean it's bad. So I am returning my Moto and I'll try this.
Hi All,
I'm considering selling my Moto X 2014 and buying a OnePlus. Does anyone here think that would be a good move? Obviously you're all OnePlus users, but I'd be interested in your input.
Thank's in advance.

My suggestion would be to wait until the OPO OS fiasco settles. Besides you do not gain much going to OPO IMHO. I was toying between OPO and Moto X, picked up OPO because someone was selling it cheap.

Thanks for the reply. I'm also planning on getting the M9 when it's out so it may be wise to just stick the the Moto until then.

What OS fiasco? It only affects Indian customers.
Hi!
I just sold my Moto G 2015, It was getting hectic and I needed a huge update. It was a great phone though.
I just want to ask
"Have you sold your Moto G 2015"
And
"What device replaced your Moto G 2015"
Or if you are planning to replace it
"What phone do you plan to replace your Moto G 2015"
Everyone is welcome to answer

I moved mine to "backup" status several months ago, and move to a Moto X Pure Edition... It's a good phone but I wish I had gone Axon 7 (or now the Mini).
I will not own another Moto device.
hi,
i am very much liking my MotoG2015 as its doing fine despite of facing so many RAINS
if at all, i want to change my phone.. i would never buy a phone without IPXX ratings , i want a phone which can be used even in rain
if Moto has launched any G4 series with it, i would have bought them.. but sadly they lost me this year
... so expecting that they do for g5 , else i should have to look at other brands ,
finally, i would choose IPXX rated phones, not others even though if they perform excellent
I am still happy with my rooted stock G3. Although IPXX phones are becoming more common. some of my other favorite features are hard to come by such as FM radio and a 5" screen. It seems most new phones are becoming increasing large.

yup :highfive:
thats why, i like sony's Style of launching 5 inch phones
but Other than the phone , everything feels crap to me
if at-least, Sony launches same phone with small processor at budget price range .. many people would buy it like we bought MotoG3

I will kind of retract that, although I still feel betrayed by Moto, there isn't a better device in the G's price range.
