HI did you use the modify recovery provided by the cm11 tread. It should fix your problem
Try TWRP, and dont forget if you dont have s-off - you need to "fastboot" the image
Yes, you don't necessarily need the latest version of TWRP, but the modified one posted in the thread. Try it! Good luck!
did it

Hey guys, so I unlocked and rooted my brothers TF300t last year, and now I'm having problems updating to the latest version of CM10.1. His tablet is currently on bootloader version 10.4.2.9 and CM10.1 20130612, and when I try to install the latest version of CM10.1 nightlies, the tablet just hangs on the Asus logo. (It's xplodwild's ROM) I'm running CWM 6.0.1.3 on his tablet. I thought I'd ask the great minds of XDA so that I'm completely sure I'm not going to brick my brothers tablet, because I can't afford to buy him a new one if I ruin this one. Plus I'd look like a complete retard :highfive:
So what am I doing wrong? I used to flash ROM's all the time on my old HTC phone, and I don't remember having to worry about my bootloader version much. Do I need to upgrade to a newer bootloader version? Is my recovery out of date? I've tried doing a full wipe and installing the latest ROM as well as installing over top his current version, and nothing works, it just hangs at the Asus logo.
If any further clarifications are needed, please let me know. I appreciate any and all help! Thanks.

for the latest cm10.1 you need the latest 4.2 bootloader that u can get it by flashing the latest asus stock rom...
This http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2187982 is a guide how to install the latest 4.2.1 version of Asus that also contains the latest 4.2 bootloader
You have many methods how to do it, so chose what seems easier to you
After u do this u can flash whatever 4.2 bootloader rom
I rooted my phone today, but I have read that unfortunately the newest TWRP recoveries won't install some ROMs. I currently have the 2.6 recovery, how do I downgrade it without bricking the phone? Say, to 2.3.3?
Thanks a bunch.
EDIT: I managed to downgrade it to 2.3.3.0. Now, however, I cannot use the recovery because the touch screen won't work in recovery. Any help?
Where did you read that? That's not right. I think you misunderstood what you read. You want the absolute latest version (2.6.3.0) which has been modified by jrior001 so it can flash KitKat ROMs. You'll find it in the Original Android Development section.
PS. The reason 2.3.3 isn't working is because it's so old that it needs a touchscreen firmware downgrade. You don't want that version anyway, find the one I mentioned above.

Downgrade twrp recovery
I'm on twrp version 3.0.0.0 need to downgrade to v 2.8.7.0 for flashing custom rom.
Can i have help what to do???
What steps ????
Thanks.
I'm not being able to flash recent roms. I keep getting error status 7. For JB 4.2 and later, I can't flash them. I can flash rom 4.1.2 and earlier.
I'm on 3.18 firmware (latest i think). unlocked and rooted. BUT I have S-ON, is that the problem? If I S-Off. will I be able to flash recent roms? I want kitkat on my phone Sorry im noob
What recovery version are you using?

2.5.0.0 i think, ye. that's it. but I tried with both CWM and TWRP, non work. I suppose S-off is the problem right?
Your recovery is the problem. If you want to flash KitKat ROMs you need the modified TWRP 2.6.3.0 by jrior001, you'll find that in our Original Android Development section. Any other ROM you want the official TWRP 2.6 which you'll find here:

Ok, this is weird, a while ago i didnt had any problems installing any kind of custom rom, used CWM while wiping everything... eveything was OK, ROM worked OK, etc... But one time i installed a ROM (Slimkat) and i lost signal, tried to use my recovery of stock android but it didnt work, so i tried a lot of things untill i got bootlop without being able to install anything since some files were missing, bad luck
After that, i just reflash stock 4.3 and upgrade from there 4.4.2, everything fine again... except that i cant install any kind of ROM, every ROM says "installation succesful" but everyone is stuck into bootloop.
While i havent tried ALL ROMS i have tried the same ones i was using (Nexus G+, LiquidSmooth and CM11), so i guess this problem is coming from my device.
On a side note, i tried to factory reset, but no luck... it shows the Android working but it inmediately turns the screen off, and then it shows it again and then off again... in an infinite loop
Same problem!
Bump.
I just got my Moto G yesterday (European XT1032), updated to 4.4.2, unlocked bootloader, rooted with superboot and flashed Philz Touch CWM.
Seems I have done everything by the book, wipes included, but no luck. I tried Slimkat, Paranoid and Codename Lungo (latest builds as of 3/12).

Hmmm... Pay attention to which version of Bootloader you are using.
You might want to try both 4.3 and 4.4 to see which one would work.
Extract the motoboot.img from the stock .zip image for your phone, then flash with mflashboot flash motoboot motoboot.img
Good luck!

Thanks. I'll give that a try. Is there a way to check bootloader version on the phone? If that doesn't work out I'll start from scratch and report back in this thread..

Hmmm.. I see there is a version number on mine, 41.05 dated 2013-12-06, but I'm not sure if that's the version or not.
And yeah... if changing the bootloader doesn't help, you probably would have to restore from the stock image and start over..
Got root and custom roms working after I 1.) downgraded to 4.3 and 2.) flash TWRP (instead of CWM).
So I'm not sure what the problem was. Besides the two main rooting methods (superboot and custom recovery), there are some other methods described on the forum specifically for people who already did a international variant OTA to 4.4.2. and one that is absolete (here) but apparently works for some when the two main methods fail.
However I'm still not sure if this solved everything. I am not sure if I can flash Cyanogenmod (which is 4.4.2) over a 4.3 firmware. Maybe I need to manually flash a 4.4.2 radio or something... Gonna check that out next...
EDIT: No need to downgrade. Not sure how it works but two main root methods (superboot and custom recovery) didn't work for me. Somehow I got stuck in boot animation. Just installed TWRP instead of CWM after Kitkat firmware (EU Retail) and rooted (/installed Super Su) from there. Everything works fine now.
how to install android 5.0 for htc one s like.
my current machine is using the original room now want to install 5.0 how. machines without root, unlock and install CWM.
who have integrated software for all we ask, to thank everyone help
help me!!!!
You're not being very clear in your question, is your device already rooted or not?
If rooted, go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-s/development/rom-cyanogenmod-12-lollipop-htc-one-s-t2946468
this is a thread about the CM12 rom which works on Android 5.0. You will have to flash the TWRP 2.8.1.1 recovery as said in the Installation Guide (instead of the CWM recovery)
you can download the latest versions of the rom here: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B_THDHRTYTJTNXZBdnZNbFM0VGs&usp=sharing make sure you download the correct version depending on what hboot you have (2.15 or 2.16)
However this rom is not yet a stable finished build, so bugs can occur.
If your device is not yet rooted, and you're not really familiar with it, the best you can do is use the "all in one rootkit for htc one s" which can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1604677
Good luck! :good:
