Yea, I didn't even get yet 4.3 but thought it's good to share it here, so that more devs will know about it and prepare their apps.

Hello everyone,
Sorry for not understanding but i am new to this and definitely willing to learn, Id like to know what is the best Hero Rom (smoothest with the most things working) and if once i have installed it, is it possible to go back to my normal rom if i dont like it.
Id like to know how to download apps such as Apps2SD and themes such as the good ones on here (is a special rom needed or a certain rom ?)
Sorry for all the questions but please help i am willing to make a dontation to somebody who can help me.
Thanks Everyone
This is a place for discussion for more people who are experienced, thats why its called "development" as for themes those are under the "themes" section.....
if your looking for n00b resources for full on n00bs please don't post annoying threads here. Learn to look **** up on google and in under 10 seconds you would have found
http://theunlockr.com/category/howto/android_how_tos/
for how to root, one click rom install, and how to restore back to factory. Or even above your own damn post there are n00b resrouces.
as for ROMs this is the DEVELOPMENT section. So people need to stop asking for a perfect rom. Use cyanogen stable roms if you want stablility. If not ROMs come out every 2-3 days for evil and every couple weeks for other ROMs. They are NOT stable
Qtek=fastest most stable does not work on most MT3G (this is believed to be kernel issues with 2.7xxxx)
Evil= 50/50 depending on his builds, he likes to f* stuff up alot and patch within a few hours
cyanogen 4.1.11.1=android 1.6 AOSP(android open source project)

Could you tell me what rooting is for ? eg if i root my device once does that mean i can use all the stuff you guys are uploading eg just put a theme on it straight away?
Cheers James
rooting your phone gives you controll of the / files of yoru phone. It lets you install roms and such. i suggest looking at the latest video of rooting your magic and the video of how to install a rom. it'll put you right at par with where alot of users on this forum are at. only like 15 mins of video too.
Did you miss the sticky in this forum? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=538979
So i have been searching for 2 weeks for Roms and how to Root this device. I have finally rooted the devices but yet to find any roms for this device . None of the main websites like here and Android central even have a section for this device yet. i was wondering if anyone had started working on any Roms for this device. i might try and mess with it my self but the device is my wifes so i dont have it in my possession all the time to be able to do that. Any info would be great thanks guys
There is none that I know of yet SDX is doing alot with transform. The samsung moment is very close to the transform and little john has just come out with 2.2.1 for yhe moment still has some bugs but will be working soon. I'm sure some one will be porting it soon as its done. also there is a very cool theme for the transform and some of moment things do work on it. I am getting 9.1 on linpack. Go to SDX!!!!

i rooted mine using intercept root.apk there are many places to download it if you want it
also i flashed custom recovery easily which i can use to flash a ton of roms like TransGinger and even unofficial versions of cyanogen mod
So I am fed up with T-Mobile and Samsung not releasing a ics update for this phone. I wan't to try the new features like facelock and android beam ( really helpful). Well can we start from scratch also is there a guide to do that? It would be really awesome if someone posted a link for it.
Well I'm not sure what you are asking but are you saying if we can do a ICS kernel without source? Yes it's possible if we use the s2 source but with heavy modifications to run on our phone. Doubt there is a guide for it anywhere, though if you have an understanding of Linux kernels and a few languages like C, C++ and Java you can help us get there.
Another way we can get cm9 or any ics varient we can modify our current 2.6.35.11+ kernel to make it run cm9.
I suggest or rather think the easiest way is the waiting way because by the time you or I or anyone gets anything close to a working build the source will drop. This would be a good idea if the blaze wasn't getting ICS at all but it is.
So for now lets enjoy GB a little more I got a rom update uploading and dwitherell is also updating his awesome rom
----------------------------------------------
If helped don't be afraid to hit the thanks button it doesn't bite lol
Okay still love the darknight rom although holo launcher gets somewhat laggy sometimes.. but is there a guide for modifying the kernel to create cm9? any help would be appreciated.

Well i just release build8 and no more holo launcher
As for a guide, there isn't one. There's guides on how to make your own kernel from the source drop and the initramfs from a stock rom but to modify the 2.6.35.11(gb) kernel to work with cm9/ics takes a lot of work and a lot of backporting and unfortunately every kernel is different as every phone is which is why no guide is ever accurate. Honestly, the best way to contribute is learn a few languages and start learning slowly. Unless, of course, you have knowledge on linux kernels then that'd be awesome
Either way i started a channel on irc #teamfah-q. That is where team fah-q(merwin, flyers00, thomas.raines, and myself) hangs out and shares ideas with each other and talk about changes and we do drop leaks to our builds and mods and the such. Join us on the channel.

I tried exactly this once... and let me tell you, it's REALLY difficult. I started with a T989 kernel and after months of work, still had a non-booting kernel.
I'm starting again, but moving much slower since I have an S3 now. I'm also trying to get a "console" on the device so I can see if the thing is actually booting at all.
Joy.
Good luck if you want to start in on this, I wish you the best
Ok soo I am thinking about rooting my Sony Ericsson and I wanted too know if it's worth it or not.. I know there are alot of great apps that you can get.. but I heard that you can get free 3g when you root you're device, is this true? and also I wanna know if I shouldn't root my phone and just not take the risk..
I also have a problem with the phone typing by itself sometimes and I have to restart it a few times and it quits and goes back to normal.. any help on this?

lol.. u won't get free 3g after rooting..someone trolled you!!
rooting will void ur software warranty of phone!
But it has it's own advantages, u could use custom rom and save battery, RAM through tweaks!
you could get hardware acceleration via Cyanogenmod and play certain games which are not compatible with ur phone!
Find ur device forum for more details! Just use search bar on the top right corner!
as for ur problem, dust and moisture can cause this..remove screen protector and wipe the screen and apply new protector
if problem persists, show it to service if u are under warranty!
My advice is always the same.
Find a reason to root your device before just doing it.
A custom recovery can be nice, but do you really need one ?
Custom ROMs can be nice, but do you want to take the risks they come with ? Just scroll through these forums and see all the posts about people who have bricked their devices - even people who had good experience and knew what they were doing. Sometimes things go wrong - are you willing to pay to have your device repaired if you brick it ?
Rooting alone opens you up to some security risks - so there's really no point in rooting unless you have a plan about what you want to do with it and understand the risks and what you can do to make sure you don't do something bad.
Yeah, these things can do some cool stuff - and if you would like it it can be worth it. But if you don't really care, it's not.
Do some research. Decide what you want to do.
I rooted my Desire for two reasons: 1 To upgrade to ICS
2 To run many apps without
filling up my internal memory. I'm really happy with the result and
if i find support for Android 5.0 in the future i'll go for it.
If you use it as a phone only don't risk it.
I have another question.. If I root my phone.. will I get the latest updates? Cause my phone only has 2.3.3 and I see alot of people will 4.0 and I was wondering if I do root it .. is it possible to get 4.0 or greater than 2.3.3?
and thanks for helping me

Okay, there are two kinds of "updates". You can still get OTA carrier updates with root only, but you may lose root in doing so.
Then there are custom ROMs. I have no idea if an ICS ROM is available for your phone - Google it or search the forum and see. Beware that these typically do not work 100% perfectly. If there is a custom ROM depends in if someone put the time into making it or not.

If you root your phone you won't have to worry about updates from your carrier, nor will you want it. All you will do is keep up with the thread of the ROM of your choice and see if the developer has updated the ROM. As far as getting a certain version of Android for your phone it's all entirely on the phone you have. Look around for a forum for your specific device and check their development section to see what ROMs they have available for you.
Good evening everyone sirs of this fine forum!
So, after a couple of year with iXXXXe (wasn't my choice), I'm now back to Android.
I just bought an Honor 6x, after months of reading online.
I haven't really started to use it yet, that's because I'm a little paranoid.
As you can see in my signature below, I used to have a MOTO G really boosted up, almost reaching perfection.
I like to be in control of everything in my phone before starting to use it.
Here come my questions:
- i installed BETA app by Honor, but at the moment I can't try Nougat, you know why?
- is it useful to unlock the bootloader and root this phone? I've read there are not many ROMS at the moment. What do you think? What would I achieve unlocking the bootloader and rooting?
- Xposed framework and Gravity app are still up? Are they working with my device?
- I really like to have a "clean" phone, like stock: no preinstalled apps, no fancy UI, just the basic. What would you suggest me to do?
- In the end, all said: should I use this Honor "out of the box", or is it worth to spend some time messing with it?
I really looking forward your answers, mates!
Sorry, but I've been outside the world for the past 2 years, I feel like I lost some things in the way.
Bye <3

I think at this moment its better to use it out of the box as u can uninstall and deactivate all apps u dont need. With root you will not get much new roms and features but only root useful apps such as ad blocker and such.
I would recommend to use it out if the box too, I had installed the nougat update and rooted it for AdAway but now I am back on the latest official update without root and it works fine although I miss my ad blocker

Thank you for your reply.
So for the moment I'm keeping it stock. I'm still on MM, waiting to upgrade to Nougat as soon as I can.
@MadMurl0c , why did you go back to official? What about rooting after upgrading to N and using ad blocker with the latest official?
I tried to install Viper4Android but i accidently deleted audio_effects.conf so I decided to go back to stock rom and wait until huawei releases the official Android 7 build. (Another reason was the Bootloader unlocked warning on boot) AdAway worked fine but I don't have anything else about stock to complain about. The only thing that annoys me is that you can't delete system apps without root but you can atleast disable most of them. I hope that answered your Question
