Great work, Ted. Also, here is link to an Odin flashable tar file that combines all four of the MK2 Full Odin Files into one tar. Now people can flash the entire MK2 Stock ROM with just one file placed in the PDA slot in Odin:

I downloaded it from your link at Android File Host and found the the zip file is missing the CSC file. The MD5 however matches what you posted...
I'm grabbing the MEGA one to see if there are any differences...
Yeah, your upload is missing the CSC file, might want to reupload it.

Please post back the results of the attempted downgrade. If this works, I'll give MK2 a shot, but if it doesn't, I'll stay on MF3 - as far away from KNOX as I can..

We can't downgrade at all.

Flashing everything but BL just caused the current BL to throw a secure fail when booting official 4.3 stuff. So the result of this test, once you go on mk2, there is ABSOLUTELY no way to go back. Well now im stuck with 4.3 now.. maybe ill try out hyperdrive..

Probably because the kernel is involved in the check. Even though it's signed it wouldn't take it because it's not the MF3 signature.

Yup, exactly what I figured. Well that sucks that there's no method of coming back. Hopefully I will like Hyperdrive (once i get it to download, it has already failed 2 times with 100kb/s download..) [ROOT][T769] Rooted kernel for Blaze 4G :: 4/9/12

k0nane presents...
Rooted Kernel for Blaze 4G
Sponsored by k0nane.info. Have you tipped your devs today?
DO NOT CHECK REPARTITION! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
Why the big red warning? Far too many people have broken their devices by not following these instructions! Search the forums, or drop by IRC - you'll see plenty of examples.
So, you wanted root? You got root! Samsung devices come with an unlocked bootloader. Thanks to pointers from other members that the T-Mo SGS2 CWM boots (badly), we were able to get some dumps, and prep this easily little package for you. This kernel includes a fully-linked copy of BusyBox 1.19.3, init.d (busybox run-parts) support, and various other niceties. Devs, see here for what the script essentially looks like.
Instructions
Download Odin 1.85 - see section below.
Download the rooted kernel TAR - see section below.
Extract the contents of odin-185.zip.
Run Odin 1.85.exe, and prepare Odin:
Check "auto-reboot", and uncheck all other options.
Click PDA and select the TAR you downloaded. Click PIT and select the PIT your downloaded.
Put your device into Download Mode:
Connect the USB cable to your PC, but NOT your device.
Remove the battery.
Reinsert the battery.
Hold down Volume Up + Volume Down + Power.
You should now be at Download Mode.
Click Start in Odin.
That's it! Your device will autoreboot, and your phone should be working properly again.

First of all, thank you for your hard work and time!
I'm just wondering if anything needs to be clicked on when the phone is set on Download Mode?
I have everything setup in Odin but I only get a msg saying:
"<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 0)"
No activity on the phone. The instructions are clear and I did read them 5 times over , just wondering if anything else needs to be done in Odin.
Thanks again!
Whoo Hoo! So jazzed! I was getting impatient with the dev support for the t769 and was going to return it and hold out for the HTC One S.
Now, with Root and CWM, I might just keep this thing. I have a feeling that XDA will make a section for us and ROM dev will be around the corner!

Just want to make sure I'm understanding this correctly. The process described above will give root access while keeping the stock ROM that came with the phone, right? Upgrading to ICS through the installation of new ROMs is a separate process? Thanks for all the work on this!
Just FYI, when you click to upload the PIT, "Re-Partition" will auto select itself again. scared the crap out of me.

[TOOL] Deadly Venom KitKat Magic Tool (Install 4.4.2 Roms) Now easier with SS 3.72 KK

Since 4.4.2 NB1 was released, those with locked bootloaders have been stuck with either upgrading to NB1 and losing root and Safestrap,or remaining on 4.3 MK2 and missing out on the upgrade fun. Well, this is a solution for both instances. I was made aware of a process the Note 3 was using to upgrade to 4.4.2 rooted roms with the existing version of Safestrap. After some study and alot of building, testing and modification, it is all ready.
It is called Deadly Venom KitKat Magic Tool
Disclaimer: You are trying this on your own free will. This process can be potentially damaging to your device if done carelessly or incorrectly. The risk is all yours.
Version 1 is for those that already took the NB1 update.
First, follow the thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2663545 to revert your system back to MK2. You can then root, and install Safestrap. Be sure to hit thanks on @ted77usa post.
Downloads
Nb1-Safestrap Kit- http://d-h.st/p12
Safestrap 3.72 beta-- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=45693712
Download all files, and extract them somewhere on your desktop.
Download a pre-rooted 4.4.2 rom (SEE POST #2 FOR COMPATIBLE ROMS and place on your external sd.
Reboot into SS, and wipe all except external sd. Install your pre-rooted 4.4.2 rom, and flash nb1 modules. Tap "Home". Enter reboot menu, and choose download.
Now open Odin on your pc, and add the NB1 tar files ap>>ap bl>>bl cp>>cp. Hit start. Once finished, it will reboot, You should now boot into a rooted 4.4.2 KK rom.
NOTE- Once 4.4.2 is installed, download Safestrap 3.72. Install and open. Uninstall recovery, and then install recovery. Your SS is now compatible with 4.4.2. The only time you will need the mk2 files beyond this is when reverting to an mk2 system.
If you are already on an existing 4.4.2 rom, then uninstall 3.71 Safestrap app, and install 3.72 beta. Open, uninstall recovery, and then install recovery. Safestrap is now updated on your system.
Version 2 is for those that DID NOT take the NB1 update, and are still on a full MK2

Deadly Venom KitKat Magic Tool All-In-One Files. For Odin and Heimdall
These are just the files @rebel1699 provided in the KKMT NB1 files folder.
Instead of them being split into multiple md5 files that needed to be put in multiple slots, I combined them all into a single md5 file, and a single tar.gz that can be put in the PDA slot in Odin, or loaded as a Heimdall firmware file.
The original md5 files were:
ap_nb1_test.tar.md5
bl_nb1_test.tar.md5
cp_nb1_test.tar.md5
Odin combined files can be found here
Heimdall combined files can be found here

Your need to upgrade to MK2 first...
At this point MK2 is likely the better of the two (outside of the old Loki-compatible basebands) due to the larger number of ROM's and the kernel bypass that works because of Saferoot. Safestrap also works great on MK2, still no progress on the kexec that Hash is working on though.

Man you are quick on the trigger....
I realize your still putting the OP together but... just have a couple of questions:
1. Should it read 4.4.4 in the OP...
2. Will we have to Odin NI2 firmware with this....

Is this the bad news????
What is .qmg file?
File type specification:
The QMG file extension is associated with the Samsung Theme Designer used to create customized themes for Samsung mobile phones.
QMG file format is called qmage and its made by quramsoft. It is a proprietary format.
The encoding tool, decoder library are also proprietary.
The QMG file contains picture image (graphics) that can be used as a wallpaper, icon, button or other graphics elements.
Samsung Theme Designer will imports QMG picture images to Samsung theme file with .smt file extension.

Then they've finally done it. If this is their new standard across the board for 4.4.4+, then they've officially alienated the last remaining presence of Android modders on their devices. Suck it, S#!%sung. Wow.. Don't know what to say...
IMO, this is more irritating than having a locked bootloader. We were at least able to make the daggum thing look nicer.

ya.. although we can probably replace with qmg's from previous bases.. it still sucks because we dont know what were actually replacing because we cant decode the images..
my buddy has the samsung theme engine and the qmage library file both apart in IDA trying to see if we can make a decompiler..
funny thing is they even added checks into both of those, we had to remove checks via hex editing.. before they would even load in ida
on sorta topic... That moto x looks pretty nice right now lmao

I assume it shouldn't be mandatory so if you want to be on the safe side, don't re-partition.
I downloaded it also, but am waiting for the IT guy to come enter the admin passwd (at work and don't have admin access lol) so I can start odin.
So it's not necessary to flash the PIT file right ?

----Both kernels are 5.0.1 choose whichever you need for the rom you will be running.
3. Run NI2Flasher and select flash.
4. Grant root access for NI2flasher
5. After the app flashes the NI2 kernel tap the reboot button.
----This will reboot your device directly to Safestrap.
6. Backup or flash rom/mod/whatever.
7. Do NOT forget to flash the G900V_OXX_Stock_KERNEL_SafeStrap-Flashable.zip afterwards.
----If you do forget you can always select recovery at the Safestrap splash screen.
8. Reboot system after flashing your preferred Lollipop kernel.
9. Profit!
****NOTICE: Safestrap backups of Lollipop are rather large.****
NI2flasher.apk is not my own creation. This app was created by @benwaffle for the ATT Galaxy Note 3 (original thread) Thanks to him for his excellent app.
I only edited and recompiled it to accommodate your needs on the Verizon Galaxy S5.
_Stock_KERNEL_SafeStrap-Flashable.zip was created and scripted by @carl1961
Thanks to him for creating a zip that can flash a kernel in Safestrap.

Thanks for porting NI2flasher, been waiting for this for a while.
Woah....this is pretty cool! Have not tested yet.....but this will make alot of crap easier for people.
It works great, it's sweet. Almost as easy to use safestrap as it was on kitkat.
It even makes sure safestrap is installed, so if you tried to use it after installing a new ROM you wouldn't get stuck with the wrong kernel and no safestrap.
This is cool! No more pc odin. Many thanks

Would someone help me please? I just made a big mistake on my Verizon S5 rooted with SS all stock and was wondering is their any way out of this mess, I just accidentally accepted the OTA update , not completely however I did loose root as well as SS. It happened so damn quick. Been canceling the update about a week now but I got caught today. Went into about phone and noticed that I'm on 4.4.4 NK7 now. The OTA update did not complete because after one session of the update it asked to install what Im assuming is the other part of the update but I canceled it. What are my options or can someone point me to the right forum. Thanks in advance.

I'm not versed on the S5 but I know on the VZW S4 the ota that came before lollipop was able to be downgraded via odin.
Could you odin to the last rootable version you had?
Can anybody confirm this?
Was thinking the same way but wanted it to be confirmed before I continued, as I mentioned before I only accepted the first small update not the 2nd update. ..to answer your question. ..no I have not tryed to Odin back... thanks for your input. ..

The S5 has not been "screwed" like the S4 has. Even if you update all the way to 5.0 (OA8/OC4/OD5) using OTA's, you can Odin back to stock (NCG)
You could just Odin flash the NCG kernel from NK7, use towelroot, install SuperSU, update the binary, then Odin flash the NK7 kernel.
EDIT:
Here's the kernels for you if you don't already have them.
NCG: Download
NK7: Download
Thank you sooooooo much, will try it after work. ..will report the outcome, HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to ya. ..

I even downloaded it from the link I posted and tried that to see if something happened during the upload but it's still valid.
