Hi all,
I've been reading through the fourm and have tried a couple of things but unable to make it work.
I recently purchased the above phone and it's been rooted and I have latest GravityBox installed on it.
I'm not sure if the GravityBox comes with an option to change the setting to make the phone wake with the home key, not that I can found in the various functions.
I've also tried editing the home key in (system/usr/keylayout/mtk-kpd.kl adding) by adding "WAKE" OR "WAKE_DROPPED", I've done so with a few different text editors (explore, es file explorer, etc) it comes up as saved but when I go back in, it revert by to just Home again.
Any suggest how to make the above work would be great! Thanks!

--HELP!!--
Some time ago I noticed that my Shadow no longer has any sort of volume control - in call or not. Volume buttons do nothing but move the selection to the top of the screen (of whatever screen is active). I can't say exactly when this happened, but it was sometime after installing new themes. Unfortunately I can't remember what I installed or when because I've installed quite a few things . I've tried uninstalling potentially violating programs, changing themes, etc with no luck. Browsed the registry and couldn't really find anything that looked like a keymap for the volume keys. Anybody have any suggestions on how to get my volume control back???
hey,
a few issues i have with the phone, one being the fact that to turn on the wifi, i have to go to settings and manually turn it on, which isnt that big of a deal, but then when i want to turn it off, i have to repeat these steps.
Is there anyway to have a shortcut button for turning the wifi on or off.
as well, sometimes when i push the calander button on the home screen, it doesnt register , at least not until 5 more presses. Is this something to do with the performance?
I recently posted on the tweaks thread, asking exactly how i can apply the performance tweaks, so if those tweaks would help in any way, it would help alot to have some guidance on how to apply them.
thanks alot. hope to hear.

well ive run into another wall.... i found the advanced config app, as well as gyrator 2, but when i try to open them after installation, it tells me i need a newer version of wondows net compact framework. I downloaded version 3.5, and when i tried opening it, it told me a newer version exists and needs to be uninstalled first.
if there is a newer version already on the phone, then why dont the above mentioned apps work?
i appreciate the previous response, but this seems to be the route of my problem....any help?>
thanks again.
You could edit the registry to change the left or right soft keys to point to the comm manager, or you could install this:-
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2581729
I use version 5.1. It's great : ) Once installed it will be assigned to the left soft key of the home tab. When you activate it, a nine button menu pops up giving access to common tasks, two of which are to toggle bluetooth and wifi on and off : )
Give it a go....
thanks ouzo, that worked incredibly!!
The only remaining issue i have is not being able to download advanced config, due to a problem with outdated microsoft framework..... which version should i get so that everything will work fine?
AppDog killed my tablet's home button functionality...
For those of you unfamiliar with it, AppDog pays you a couple cents at a time for trying out new apps (pays out in Facebook credits). I had tried it on Bluestacks and it worked just fine. When I tried it on my tablet, things got all screwy. Once I installed it, it took over control of my Home buttons. The on-screen home button would bring me back to AppDog instead of to Launcher, and the hard button now acts as a "back" button instead of "home".
I uninstalled AppDog, but it didn't fix anything. The hard button still acts as a back button, and the on-screen home button now does nothing at all.
How do I restore the functionality of the home buttons? It's a huge pain to have to manually back out of whatever I'm doing (esp. when browsing the web, as I have to back through every page I've visited)
My tablet is a 7" Craig model CMP741e running ICS 4.0.3, factory rooted.
A side note, I'm not sure if this was caused by the same app, but I'm missing some options in my Settings (i.e. Dev Options doesn't show up unless I'm plugged into my PC)
Hello,
Today i bought a Huawei P7 Telephone. The phone itself seems to work realy good but there are 2 anoying features i would like to fix.
As ive always had an samsung telephone im used to have my navigation keys below the display, after following an topic on this forum i managed it to make it disappear. Which is prety nice, so the display looks a bit bigger.
This was done by changing an registery setting, in the database of the phone (Hide_actionbar 1)
Now i come to the second point where i cant find an solution for.
I am used to have my return key on the right side and me menu button on the left side in the navigation bar, atleast all samsung phones have this as far as i know.
Huawei has the opposide, return key is left and menu key (or window key) is on the right.
Is there any posible option to change this?
So this is what i want:

ButtonRemapper, Nandroidbackup?
Hello,
Thank you for your post, i think this should be the right way to make the change, i just dont fully understand how to do it.
First of all i downloaded some remap software (ButtonRemapper) and tried to change the settings.
For example the software i tried and the link you gave me tells me that 139 = menu / 158 = back
I tried to change 139 = back.
Every time i reboot my phone to achieve change, the settings seemed to be resetted and not working at al. What am i doing wrong?
Besides that every tutorial and forum i read tells me users should make a Nandroid backup.
Internet tells me, i need some kind of extra ROM for this for better recovery options (Programs for should be CWM or TWRP)
My question is, is this realy necessary. I mean i check my current boot menu of the phone, and it seems to have an default factory reset option on it? Is this not good enough?
For extra information:
-Yesterday i have rooted my telephone, atleast i used some software which told me my phone was rooted and i got an extra application called Kinguser.
I did this because i wanted the navigation menu to dissapear. So the root itself seems to be fine.

ok .. lets fix that
i'll write you a reply in less than 20 minutes
---------- Post added at 11:11 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:42 AM ----------
in this method we won't be using ButtonRemapper app
1 • download a root browser (root browser or es file explorer)
2 • navigate to /system/usr/keylayout
3 • you will find a file named (Generic.kl) open it
4 • scroll down to "key 139 MENU WAKE_DROPPED" and type BACK instead of MENU
5 • scroll down to "key 158 BACK WAKE_DROPPED" and type MENU instead of BACK
6 • save the file and exit it
7 • open the file called (sec_touchkey.kl) in the same directory
8 • then type MENU instead of BACK ,, and BACK instead of MENU
9 • save the file and restart your phone
I've just tried that on my (gt-i9300 cyanogenmod11) and it's working .. i think it will work for you either
and for the second question :
even if your boot menu (aka recovery) offers a factory reset,, it doesn't help you at all !!
because a factory reset doesn't fix the system partition if something wrong happend
- so you should flash a custom recovery such as (CWM or TWRP as you said) and make a NANDROID backup > i prefer TWRP
and if you don't know how to do that i'll be pleased to help you
Hello,
Last week my phone went off because the battery was drained to 0.
Then next morning I connected the phone to my car's charger and when I turned it on, I figured that the soft keys are not working anymore.
I have tried multiple methods like clearing cache, factory reset (through Settings and Recovery), but none of that worked.
I am running the latest stock firmware (5.1.1 U2COH2).
Did this happen to any of you before? Is there an app that allows me to reconfigure the keys? Could this be a hardware issue?
I appreciate your response.
If you are rooted, you could try reflashing the kernel. Works fir me. Sprint variant
I'm not rooted. I believe it's a hardware issue, unless somebody else has a different opinion.
i have the same problem on the recent app softkey (left botton) . i made all kind of reset, but nothing change, sometime i have a "crazy" soft button that start to work like a spirit! or stop to work.
i tried also "safe mode" and a little less, but same (random) problem!
The only way, i find, before to go to assistance (or to put in the garbage!!!) is to disable the softkey.
i find this on xda:
Use a root explorer (I used X-plore with root enabled).
Go to
/system/usr/keylayout/Generic.kl
Backup file Generic.kl ( copy it as a .bk or something )
Then open the file Generic.kl using the text editor within X-plore.
Then find the word APP_SWITCH linking with the code number (mine is key 254), change APP_SWITCH to MENU. Then reboot and your are done. The Recent Apps button is now back to being a Menu button. Life is great.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/help/how-to-remap-buttons-t3084638/page4
put"#" before key 254 and the key stop to exist, and stop to crash my balls
if someone has a different way to fix is wellcome for me.
thanks!
