Easy
Open the xml file in notepad not wordpad.
Just remove 1 or 2 at most of the whole lines with getvar. Create a bu first & have them both open.....

So when you ran rsd you selected the xml.zip?
You need to do everything on/with the extracted zip.

Once you extract all to a folder you can trash the zip!
It is a download container only.

but then it wont let me pull it up in rsd

You browse to the .xml file by using the ... button in rsd.
---------- Post added at 11:09 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:01 AM ----------
The xml is the instruction list for rsd to read. I may just show as vzr...98... but rsd only will recognize a xml extension.

brick after build.prop edit

Hey there,
I've bricked my OneS after I edited my build.prop.
What I did:
One week ago, I've unlocked my phone via HTCdev and than I flashed TWRP and this rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-s/development/rom-oneplus-one-stock-rom-cm11s-one-s-t2869703
Yesterday, I noticed that my computer does not find my mobile phone and adb is not working.
I thought that this is caused by the build.prop edits which I've done with the Pimp My Rom App so I deleted the modified build.prop file and added the stock file of the rom. After that I tried to restart my OneS but now only the screen htc boot animation with the red text appears and the mobile phone does not boot anymore but I have still axcess to the bootloader and the recovery. Adb doesn't work but fastboot works.
What should I do? I've found this solution: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1630459
But do you think it will work with my problem, because my adb already haven't worked before the brick.
Sorry for my bad english!
Edit: The content of the system folder is deleted
Do you haven't any ideas?:crying:

Yes fastboot flash recovery recovery.img.
But TWRP can flash recovery.img itself. Switch to IMG instead of ZIP in the Install menu.

What is your bootloader version? It should be HHZ12h if you are running Android 5.1.1. It can create issues if you still have an old one.

"No such file or directory" means that the file "recovery.img" does not exist in the folder/directory that CMD is running in. Make sure you navigate to the right folder where "recovery.img" is located on your computer (or whatever it is called: "somename.img").
